I absolutely love Kahunas for multiple reasons. It’s got everything under one roof, keeps things simple and streamlined, and allows you to automate reminders for extra accountability. They also have a very personal touch. Any issues, I can hop on a call with the team right away for quick and detailed help, just like Shear has done for me whenever needed. 5-star service!
I recently had the pleasure of attending a full demo with Pam from Kahanus, and I must say it was an outstanding experience! The demo was brilliantly organised and provided a comprehensive overview of the platform's features and capabilities Pam's knowledge and enthusiasm were evident throughout, making the session not only informative but also engaging.
Great onboarding call with Shear @ Kahunas, answered all of my questions on client billing, YouTube link for my workouts, building workouts within the app and alternative client app registration when they don't have the email. Best support ever.
Kahunas has allowed me to expand my coaching service and platform in ways I could have only dreamed of before. I had some issues about launching a personal/branded app and couldn't figure it out myself. Even with the clear tutorial i still found a way to confuse myself and mess things up.. Luckily Shear helped me out via Google Meet with a step by step guide to get through the developer enrollment process with Apple and Google. Her explanations were clear, quick and pleasant to follow. Where do I even start with this company?
I’ve been using Kahunas for nearly five years—probably three years longer than I should have!
Why? Well, when you’ve built up a large number of clients, sometimes the devil you know seems better than the devil you don’t. But that all changed after my last interaction with them.
The app itself is a nightmare, riddled with bugs that never get fully resolved. The support team is quick to mark issues as “resolved” the moment they respond, even when nothing is actually fixed. After almost every update, the app becomes unstable and borderline unusable. I have hundreds of messages from frustrated clients complaining about constant issues, but there’s no point in passing them along—the owners and support team just don’t care. There’s a reason this app is the cheapest on the market by a mile, and this is exactly why.
For five years, I was promised features and improvements (I have emails to prove it) that never happened—always “in the works,” whatever that really means. Their Facebook group has been shut down twice due to complaints from coaches. Instead of addressing the problems, they just disabled comments to silence criticism.
As for the app’s features, don’t fall for the bells and whistles they advertise. Sure, they offer a lot on paper, but most of them either don’t work, are half-finished, or have been poorly implemented. They’ve been “fixing” the nutrition feature since it launched, and it’s still a complete mess.
We are now at a stage where the majority of clients are submitting check-ins but they are now coming through.
But the final straw? One of my clients had repeated issues—workouts not loading, nutrition not working, check-ins failing. Every time something was “fixed,” another issue popped up within a week. She eventually left, and I lost a paying client—$2,200 AUD gone. And what was Kahunas’ response? Blaming my client for not submitting the bug properly. Pretty hard to do that when the app itself isn’t working!
Their idea of compensation? One free month. As if that even comes close to covering my loss—it doesn’t even cover the commission I pay my coaches for new clients.
If you’re considering signing up with these guys, think twice. Just check any fitness professional group on Facebook and search “Kahunas”—you’ll see this isn’t an isolated experience.
Update;
Mark, please don’t claim that my client didn’t report this issue. I’m more than happy to share all the communications between your support team and Vicky, whom I assume is your wife or partner.
She reported the issue as often as possible, and I also reported it myself when the app wouldn’t allow her to do so due to loading issues.
I’d recommend checking the logs before placing blame elsewhere regarding how your support team handles bugs. I can also provide the numerous emails I’ve sent regarding your support team marking issues as resolved when they were not.
As for staying on, I will most definitely not be, I’ve already started transferring clients over to everfit and it’s levels above what kahunas offers

My experience was personalized to the way I use Kahunas. The platform offers an extensive way to connect with clients and customer service matches this.
Needed some more detailed support, i was encourage to book a call. Booked a time that suited me, and had all my questions answered and explained with walkthroughs etc. Shear from Kahunas was nothing but professional and accommodating. all in all a great experience.
Shear was great to work with and answered all my questions.
I have been using this software for a while now and while it does have every feature needed to eg training , nutrition , check ins etc.
But none of them are done well , there are so many necessary features missing or the existing features don't work properly and the app is constantly crashing and clients lose all their tracking data.
Originally there was a facebook group for coaches using the app but this was obviously disabled due to coaches venting their frustration. I see advertising for this software which makes me think more money is put into that then actually making it a well functioning app that delivers what it promises.
