Amazing sushi & great service

I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for top notch service and excellent quality sushi. I tried several items from the menu and each item was equally delicious. Not only was the taste exquisite, the presentation of each dish was beautiful as well. The ambience of the restaurant is super cozy and the wait staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Definitely going here again next time I’m in Aalborg.

This place had a lot of heart

This place had a lot of heart. There were a lot of interesting decorations on the walls. The steak was a little dry. The service wasn't that good and the waitress was air-headed. This place deserves its very average rating.

Paid order. Out of rolls??

Usually quite happy with the food from Karma, but today was a calamity.

We ordered at around 18.45, with pickup set for 19.45 at the Aarhus Restaurant. The order was pre-paid.

At the time of pick up, we enter the restaurant only to get told that they haven’t made anything from the order, due to a shortage of rolls?? On top of that, they wouldn’t be able to make anything at all, meaning that at 20.00 we had no food, no order, but still paid for sushi for 4 people.

We’re now left with having to find food elsewhere.

Maybe check your orders and do the courtesy of calling your customers if you’re not able to deliver a product that has been paid for.
A lot of time wasted..
Shameless.

Horrible customer service

I ordered take away sushi including 2 kids menu, but when I got home I saw that the drinks and the desserts were missing from both kids menus. I called the restaurant which said that they didn't have the possibility to deliver the forgotten items so instead they would refund me for the kids menus. Fair enough. However, I never got the refund. I have now called 3 times, both the restaurant in Valby itself but also the HQ and every time I am being promised that I will receive my reimbursement immediately and yet now after 6 weeks it still hasn't happend. This is just not okay and shouldn't be how they treat their customers.

Karma sushi Nyhavn

Although friendly staff the service was criticisable.
In regards to following it has to be mentioned that there were only two people in the restaurant - us...

After seated and after waiting for approximately +/- 10 min. I eventually had to go up and request for some tap water - it was a scorcher of a day - which unfortunately also took its time to before served.

My partner then ordered a glass of wine which wasn’t served before our food arrived (yet another 10 min.). (Their loss as he most likely would have had another glass if served quicker!)

When our food arrived we had no idea what was what and which sauce went with what. When we asked our waitress she said she would send someone to explain the Menu. That never happened so after yet another wait, we just ate and left.

After a rather frustrating experience the worst was yet to come. We were charged Dkr. 35 for plain tap water! Seriously?!!

On a positive note - the food was tasty, but we won’t be back.

The sushi was top level and the…

The sushi was top level and the packaging was great too.

However the delivery service will get one star. 45 min late. Called Take Away and was in queue for 12 mins despite I was number 1 in the queue.

The customer service promised delivery in 2-3 mins but it took additional 15 mins before it arrived. He blamed the restaurant for late delivery of the food to their driver.

Why using Take Away as delivery service when they are having such a bad service record? DKK 79 for delivery of less than 4 min drive.

The overall experience for the food is just getting so low as you are pissed off when you finally get your food. When you at Karma Sushi are trying so hard to make a high quality product and experience, then it fails when the delivery sucks.

You should sign up with Wolt instead as their delivery service works, cheaper alternative and you can follow the progress of your order and delivery in real time.

Top class Sushi

Very, very well prepared and fresh Sushi. Served perfect. A treat to the palate and the eye as well. Yummy. Among the best.
The staff provided very good service. All as it should be.
The wine list good, but not in same level as the food. Don´t fall for their house blend on different Alsace grapes.
The price is in the upper end and the food absolutely justify this, but the wine list need renewal and the current wines on the list is priced to high.

The service level was so bad and found…

The service level was so bad and found hair in my food. We waited 2 hours for hour food, and therefore couldn't even order more sushi before the kitchen closed. On top of that we had to contact the waitress ourselves for order two times.

I also found hair in my sushi!

I complained to them on mail, but did not get any response - even called them - and after 3 weeks still no response.

Good sushi, sluggish service

Good food with some of the best vegan sushi in town -- but extremely slow service (over one and a half hour from entry to food was served) and amateurish personnel. (Karma Sushi Nyhavn)

Food was delicius...but!!

Food was delicius.... Once we got it!
20 minutes between the small disches the 5 of us shared.....5 servings in two houers!!
We had to ask for soyasauce twice.... in a sushi restaurant!!
Ordered one beer but got two.
The staff was kind and polite but the Kitchen was too busy making take away.
Think I'll choose take away next time.

I must truly recommend the Karma Sushi…

I must truly recommend the Karma Sushi in Frederiksgade Aarhus. Everything, with only minor exception, was absolutely magnificent. The food simply top notch. Delicate, tasty, beautifully served etc. The service was so great it would have been the visit worth itself. Very helpful, good knowledge of product etc. Very sweet and welcoming. So, the exception; well the locality or the surrounding environment / view is not the best in Aarhus. But hey, I will be back for the rest any day. In total I give high recommendation for the very good service and fabulous sushi.

Great food

Great food, fantastic beverage range (ginger+lemon lemonade is above fantastic).
Do yourself a favor and try one of the menus for 2 or more people.

invited my girlfreind out because of her birthday. Had arranged with the restaurant that they should put a flag on the table. Best of all, before we left, they surprised us with a delicious birthday cake. Really good experience that we will never forget

Lovely restaurant

This is not sushi and it is not good.

This is not sushi and it is not good.
Overpriced even if it was good sushi.
The food is way too sweet overall.
The rice is sweetenede, the ginger is sweetened and all the sauces are sweet. The wasabi is dyed horseradish and considering the prices that is not what I would expect. We had various types of sushi, steak and snacks, all of it way too sweet.
It was honestly a bit surreal since it just kept coming in sweeter than expected and everything you expected to be savoury was just not.
Got to McDonald for a filet-o-fish and a rice pudding, same experience.
1 star for the esthetics and 1 for service.
