Kilts Boutique scammed a disabled person!

If it wasn't for having to at least select one star in this review I'd give Kilts Boutique zero stars out of five!

They have royally screwed me!

I'm a largish woman so I ordered a size 4X at first when I purchased an Adam Ant style Hussars highly gold trimmed decorated jacket that was at first worn in the early 1800s.

At first Kilts Boutique seemed quite caring because they asked me for my bust measurement. I sent it in my reply email to theirs. It's good they asked me because the much bigger 4X would have been like a tent on me.

I have a postal locker because when I started ordering online at least two packages were stolen from in front of my front door. But Kilts Boutique only 'posts' by a courier service that won't have anything to do with Australia Post so my jacket was left exposed to possible theft by the courier at my front door!

I tried my jacket on. It fit well from my underarms down. But the shoulder length was enormous. It crumpled around my shoulders and the sleeves, which were the right length for my arms, went down to halfway down my fingers!

I don't understand why the jacket's shoulders were so enormous. Men in the early 1800s didn't pump iron, there was no Mr Universe competition and certainly there were no steroids. And yet the jacket's been made for the likes of Sly, Arnie and The Rock!

After having the jacket for about 3 weeks, while looking for an experienced taylor to fix the shoulders, I at last saw that a whole column of buttons was missing from the left side. I compared my jacket with the one in the photo online and yes said buttons were missing.

The mounting faults with my jacket caused me to contact Kilts Boutique and request a whole new one with the right shoulder length and buttons and to please send me a return label online.

They sent me an email reply within a couple of hours saying that they only give customers 2 weeks to make complaints about their wares and request refunds or exchanges!

I wrote back saying that I'd had two strokes, which have slowed me up. I got no reply!

Ironically it seems that the owners / management of Kilts Boutique, which sells kilts and other Scottish livery, are sub-continental Indians. They are from a country known for scamming people rather than assisting the disabled! Kilts Boutique has certainly scammed me - a double strokes survivor! Sending a customer a fully paid for incomplete item is also fraudulent! No wonder they are too ashamed to include their tag in the jacket!

Although Kilts Boutique online doesn't include their street address, I found it on Google Maps. It is:

I do not speak English so briefly. Fast delivery, great communication with the store, quality goods corresponding to the description in the store. I recommend.

This company has been outstanding credit to them

This company has been outstanding to deal with. Fast response to messages (even when out of opening hours). Very helpful and patient, order was perfect, kilts made to order and perfect fitting. Direct messages to when order was shipped. All well wrapped. Payment options made so simple. This company defintly went above and beyond titay amazing.

Fast delivery

Fast delivery, however, items were too small in the sleeves... sent back and emailed them. We've heard nothing still no refund! They received the items back as we did tracked postage. Emailed several times and no reply, no refund.
Trading standards will be hearing from us.

EDITED: We've since recieved our money back, but only after trying to get my husband to remove his review on trust pilot.

poor quyality and service

I make no bones about being a larger gentleman (I'm fat, okay?) and I've been struggling to find a Ghillie Shirt that's a good fit... I've ordered from China and from amazon, for £10 and £20 respectively... They both turned out to be the same shirt, and neither fit (they were also very poor quality)

By buying a shirt from a kilt company, and paying £40, I'd hoped to get a better quality shirt, sized as per the website.... it turned out to be the same shirt again!

I've been trying to return it, but the emails just bounce. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Highly recommended company!

Ordered a hat last minute for a show I'm attending in London. I checked the website and the delivery date was after the show. Upon contacting them they checked stock and made arrangements to expedite shipping. I received the hat in perfect condition the very next day via RM Special delivery. The quality of the hat is excellent, as was the service.

Mixed bag, think I got a defective item, easy enough to get replaced but shipping back and forth gets expensive


Positives are that shipping is prompt and customer service team respond quickly and can sort issues ( eventually)

Got a utility kilt that wasn't put together properly (buckles in wrong spot to work with the snap buttons and one pocket placed on the back instead if the side) so sent it back for an exchange (unfortunately you have to cover postage to return)

After 3 weeks of my package being delivered back I'd heard nothing so got in touch with proof of delivery, they then said they'd send a new one. I didn't like the fact I had to follow up on this as it seems like if it wasn't tracked or I hadn't emailed then they'd have kept the return and the money.
They initially wanted me to pay the shipping again, which would have meant paying the same again in posting out, back and out as the value of the kilt. For an item I was convinced was defective this seemed a bit much. They did agree (after some back and forth) to ship the replacement free of charge in the end so that's a positive as well.

Mixed experience so far, have updated review once and will update again once replacement arrives. Hopefully the original was just a dud, the measurements of it were fine for part of the kilt (actually buttoning it up) but impossibly out for the rest.

If new one fine then the company would be fine to deal with, you'd just have to hope the item is fine on your first go.

I have ordered and paid the full amount…

I have ordered and paid on the 5th of February, the full amount for my order Kb4041. I pair of Lederhosen size 52 inch. It was accepted and promised delivery. Today, 24th February 2024, they have, after several emails, in which they promised deliver next Saturday, again following week next Saturday, until today, when it should have been delivered, again maybe next Wednesday or Thursday. I couldn't wait any longer, so I had to cancel. I asked them for immediate transfer in my bank account, but again nothing.
Constant lies and promises.

Proud of my kilt

I ordered the black Watch mid calf kilt for myself and I’m very happy to say I got it this morning. It is well crafted, falls beautifully and I will be proud to wear it.

Excellent craftsmanship, Very Good Service, Quality Product

I received my plaid made to order skirt today. The wool cloth used to make the skirt is beautiful and thick. It is perfect for the cold weather this Autumn and Winter. The sewing is done well. The pleats are wide and the skirt is tailored to fit. The one who makes it even verified my measurements with me through email to make sure of the fit. Thank you for the high quality service, craftsmanship, and use of good quality fabric. I am happy with this product and service.

My White Kilt

I ordered the incorrect size by mistake, managed to contact Kilt Boutique directly and explain the situation which they were able to rectify without any issues and sent my kilt the very same day. Great service, thank you.

Beautifully made garment

Beautifully made, but very creased on arrival so it will need a good steam prior to wearing. Overall very happy with the garment and experience of ordering a custom size online. Jacket arrived promptly.
