I came to trustpilot looking for reviews on some other online brands of underwear and was surprised to see how low Krakatoa was rated. I have purchased probablly 15 pairs of underwear from them over several years and have found their products to be of good quality, that lasts through multiple washings, and the owner seems to be very personally involved in the business, so I have a hard time believing the claims of "non-existent customer service" that people seem to be offering.

These might be the worst Boxers I have ever tried. Krakatoa must mean see my Crack- a - ton- a!!
They don't stay up! The material is soft but the pouch sticks out like some weird sock puppet. I'm constantly having to keep pulling them up as the day goes. They don't stay snug. The customer service is even worse! Try SAXX you will thank me later!

I ordered a size M anti-gravity briefs. They are so tight that it squeezes everything together. I thought this was supposed to free them up. It is the exact opposite. The legs openings are also too small and binding. Their sizing chart is completely wrong. Every pair of pants in my closet is a 34. Per their chart M is supposed to be 34-37. I would say M is more like a 30-32. What is even better is they don't take returns. Do not buy!

I recently purchased a set of purple Krakatoa underwear and inserted it into a wash of other nylon aricles and one cotton set of briefs and everything came out different colors including other articles. I attributed it to the Krakatoa underwear since it had never been washed. I complained and they insisted that nylon doesn't bleed. That's true but the other articles were worn and washed several times and never bled. I concluded it must be Krakatoa but they insist not.They won't refund my money nor will they take the underwear back. Not friendly. Beware of bleeding!

I bought 4 pair and have stopped wearing any other brand. Ordering more now. Delivery, communication, and product all excellent!

Good, quick delivery. First time buyer so the briefs were half price.
Very soft fabric. The problem is the was too big and not too elastic. The large is 38-40, which is exactly me, up the briefs slide down due to the large waist.

Fit was perfect everywhere else.

Poor quality material (wears out very fast). Poor sizing (far too small). Extremely poor customer service....

Sizing is WAY off. They state on their website that a size M is supposed to be 34" - 37". I wear a 36" waist size in everything I own and these briefs are no where near 34" - 37". Wen I sent a message about getting a replacement in the correct size I was greeted with extremely rude customer service. He actually told me I was wrong and that their sizing was correct. Anyway they gave me store credit for the introductory brief, but to order the next size up I had to pay full price plus another $5 for shipping. I would be out $24.50 just for my half price introductory brief. What a scam they have running there. I think they intentionally put the wrong size on their products so that you will have to reorder the correct size at a higher price.

Ordered the products and way to small, as directed on the website returned the unborn0 shorts asking for refund. It's been 3 weeks and several phone calls to the business with NO replies. Next stop is BBB & Atornney General Office.

Update...amazingly approximately 90 minutes after this review was published I recieved personal phone call from the owner stating that the returned product was never received. After a few minutes of discussion he agreed to refund my purchase that "should" show up on my CC account w/in a few days. We'll see how that pans out.

Ordered the trial pair. Great fit, so I ordered a pack of 3. On the third wear of one of the three the material ripped and left a 3" hole. I contacted customer service and the rep said that he would "do me a solid" and add a free pair the next time I ordered. I just wanted a replacement for a flawed product without having to pay $30+. Jon, the owner stepped in and implied that I was lying about how the damage happened.

Bottom line, the product was faulty, I don't trust the durability, and the owner questioned my honesty. I'll be looking elsewhere for good underwear.

UPDATE: Jon replied, saying that my bad experience was my own fault. Amazing hubris from a proprietor of clothing that rips after a few uses.

Caveat Emptor

At age 72, I can say that this is the most comfortable underwear I ever wore. The horizontal fly is exceptional. All jeans have a very short zipper in relation to dress trousers. I used to have to pull my jeans downwards and pull my underwear downwards just to get the fellow out to pee. The Pinatubo briefs solved that completely. Easy out and easy back in. Just amazing. After using my first six for a couple months, I ordered 12 more. The pouch is sized right for my manhood, which is average to a little above average size. Fantastic!

These products are very well made. Very soft fabric which is very durable.
The pouch design makes the cut.
I plan to purchase more in the future.

True to size and not lose where it counts for support.

Their customer service team is super slow and you get different information each time you get a response. Refund/return/exchange policy is murky at best. They don't seem to care about customers at all. I tried several versions of the thong and jock strap, none fit well, and here I sit with 4 pairs of underwear that I can't do anything with. Waste of time and money, and the company is no help and not friendly. Fabric feels nice, elastic feels nice, but didn't fit and they didn't help before or after multiple purchases. After about a week, they hounded me for a review with emails that came every few days. After writing and submitting an honest review, I haven't seen it posted in weeks.

Too loose, not enough elastic. I followed the size guide and ordered XXL underwear from the Krakatoa website. When they arrived, they were too big. I sent an e-mail to the Krakatoa team and they **eventually** got back to me, and sent me some new underwear in the XL size. While they fit better in some areas, the waistband appeared to have almost no elastic and the underwear was constantly slipping off of my waist.

I have purchased 10 pairs of various styles from Alex at Krakatoa. The first pair was too large and Alex quickly sent me a replacement, he provides excellent customer service and shipping was fast. The product is top notch, great design and fit. I can't wait to try out his new style and designs.
