Ordered a very expensive laptop

Ordered a very expensive laptop, delivery was set for three days time but came the next day.
All questions have been answered within a good time.
Just waiting for the codes for the extras that came with my laptop.

A terrible experience - underhanded crooks!

A terrible experience!

Ordered from these guys against my better judgement. The ONLY reason I chose them over ebuyer was their promise of next day DPD Saturday delivery with a one hour window

Paid £15 (!!) For delivery. Waited. No tracking details sent. Checked the tracking on Saturday morning which said my laptop still hadn't reached the local depot.

Spoke to Jack in customer services via live chat who didn't really seem to care about anything. He told me my order wouldn't be coming today as the laptop I ordered was out of stock and they'd had to send it directly from their suppliers !! But wait? It was all okay. Hed refund my £15 delivery charge..

Umm..firstly. Why are these underhanded crooks selling laptops and promising next day delivery ON AN ITEM THATS NOT EVEN IN STOCK?! If it says "in stock for next day delivery" then you'd like to think that's the truth, not a blatant lie. Secondly, why are they advertising Dpd delivery with a one hour window- and then dispatching using parcelforce worldwide?

A refund of my delivery charge doesn't make it all okay. I'm losing money in my business because YOU are listing out of stock laptops as available for Saturday next day delivery. Who's refunding me for my lost earnings? The MD of BuyDirect, Nick Glynne? Didn't think so.

It's really sad the way some companies do business. Taking your money and failing to provide the service promised. I would be utterly ashamed to run my business this way. But judging by the number of negative reviews on here - and the lack of responses by Laptops Direct - they dont care about customer service or brand reputation one bit.

A word of warning: they should. When Ebuyer and all the other reliable tech sites, who actually deliver on their promises, are still running in 10 years time and Laptops Direct has folded, I hope Nick Glynne, or who ever is unlucky enough to be MD at the time remembers just how little the company cared about honesty, brand reputation and building a base of loyal customers.

To crown it all, Jack wouldn't even give me details of the company's written complaints procedure when asked. He stalled multiple times, saying as a customer service advisor that he could deal with my complaint. When I said no thank you, I want details of the formal procedure so I can complain in writing, he said he could arrange a callback, but repeated I had to tell him what resolution I was looking for before he could give me the complaints procedure information.

Last time I checked, I don't have to tell you squat. If somebody asks for details of the complaints procedure- you must provide it. Maybe I should just lie, like everybody at Laptops Direct seems to do.

At any rate the shocking delivery experience, underhanded ways and terrible customer service - including failing to listen, empathise or even answer my question- has led to this. Another negative review for a company that truly deserves to go out of business.

I wish I could say it's been a pleasure dealing with you. Sadly if I had a time machine I'd ho back and shop with Ebuyer.

Maybe if you stopped being dishonest about items that are our of stock, delivered what you promise and actually took time to read and respond to the myriad of complaints here, you'd have some hope of running a respectable business.

Sadly, I think ultimately you just don't care as long as you're lining your pockets....

False Advertisment!

Bought something from them on sale and order went through - money debited from my account and confirmation email received. I got a phone call from them the next day saying the price advertised was wrong and I have to pay the difference (after my money had already been taken!). I told them no and wanted a full refund were I then had to wait over a week to get my money back . Spoke to customer services who werent interested. What a terrible way to run a business! Dont believe the prices it says on their website!

Thy don't respond to queries!

Thy don't respond to queries. Got a question about the NVR I want to buy but I need more info about the equipment. So, I did contacted them for advise but they just ignored me. I don't think this cowboys can be trusted. What if you already bought the item and you want to contact them for support. Most of the websites they answer your queries straight away if it is SALES but ignore you after sales. But laptop direct they ignore you straight away. If I were you, I will avoid this cowboys.

refused to let me cancel my order

Ordered from here then found cheaper and better quality elsewhere. It had only been an hour since I had ordered but they refused to let me cancel my order. They wanted to ‘have a chat to me about my cancellation or else they would just proceed with the order anyway’ Don’t use this company!

Unprofessional from the good quality to the delivery

I have ordered a laptop a month ago. Upon delivery the laptop was faulty. It wasn't taking the charge (battery dead). Fine, that might happen. I return the faulty good. And from there on I wait and wait... When I reach out to ask when I will receive this laptop, I get notified that their delivery guy let a randomer sign and collect my good to avoid having to drive by again the next day. How professional of them. When I reached out to their customer service team, I got asked to knock at every door in my building block and in my street to see if someone received my laptop. Now a total stranger got a free laptop on me, and their customer service is asking to wait for their internal investigation (it takes another week) before getting any kind of proper reparation (delivery of a new laptop or full refund). This is the most unprofessional website I have ordered from so far. Avoid if you don't want to invest hours tracking your goods and asking for updates

Most unhelpful

Most unhelpful, I did contact them several times in relation to an item I wanted to buy, never replied to my question. Contacted ebuyer had a reply within 10 minutes, so they got my business

Shockingly poor service

Shockingly poor service. The laptop my wife ordered for me apparently had a 'Czech keyboard' listed under the product description(half way down page). She wasn't aware- it is a .co.uk company website and it was listed in pounds sterling. Unfortunately she ordered the laptop 4 weeks before xmas and according to customer services it cant be returned as it is over 2 weeks by the time i opened my present and saw the wrong keyboard layout. We have learnt our lesson, and will go back to Amazon who bend over backwards to correct customer problems. We buy new equipment every year for one of the family and this was just a simple mistake that Laptopdirect couldnt resolve for us.

Do not trust

This company will take your money , tell you an item is in stock then promise delivery again and again . I have had to wait in all day on a couple of occasions based on their information that an item has been despatched when they know full well it hasn't . When they are unable to fulfill orders and will make you wait and wait giving you promise after promise . Then when you request that they cancel the order they don't and make it very difficult for you to get your money back. They tell lie after lie , they really are not to be trusted - avoid using even if you think their prices are reasonable .

bad company

I ordered my 27 "LG monitor 4K 11/21/2016 I paid the money and everything seemed ok.Otrzymałem confirmation e-mail the tracking number and the possibility of tracking. Oh I paid extra for the parcel 9.95 pound that I had to come two days later. I waited all day and nothing came . began sending emessage asking what's going on, then I got the answer from my parcel come within 3-5 working dni.I tried even touch a few times lest someone explained to me the situation to no avail (I only gave extra fees for fast parcel). so I waited until Saturday, but the package has not arrived so Sunday driving by 70 miles I came to the store. there was explained to me that something went wrong and they can not explain this to me. there talking with the manager I spoke with do not leave here as I do not get my monitora.Powiedzial I did not have to store this monitor and would send it to me as soon as possible, I received from him to ensure that I get 20 pounds discount. assured me the contact with me about the package on Monday morning, but this coward did not rang I had to do it I and I learned that he will be on Wednesday. Such is the truth about the store laptodirect. Lack of professionalism lack of interest in anyone you do not want to respond to any messages regret. I do not recommend this store to anyone. I WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THEM AGAIN.

Horrible customer service, no delivery time estimate etc.

This review could easily be 3-4 pages long but I already spent to much of my precious time... So I will try and make it short.

In a nutshell:
Ordered a Huge 65 inch TV from Laptop-Direct.
*Got estimate delivery time.
*TV didn't arrived on time.
*Tracking didn't work.
*Customer service is bad
*Waiting time 3 months.
*Chasing after call centre managers and delivery guys

Long story:

Spent so much time calling at my own expenses to be put on hold for numerous times.
it felt like Customer service didn't know what they where doing.

After even more calls (2 weeks In) I was finally advised the 65 inch TV got missing or stolen, The Laptop Direct and Shipping company didn't even try get this sorted between them-self pushing me to constantly call myself to shipping company to find out what is going on with delivery and back to Laptop-Direct... No communication between those two parties whatsoever. I was their broken link and calls that where going from my own pocket. (Calls from Ireland to UK)

I had to wait and continue calling and emailing. (By the way How do you loose a huge TV????)

Was advised they didn't had it in stock for a replacement and I would have to wait for next delivery from manufacturer - two weeks.
Fine I will wait.

Of course this didn't happen and this was pushed for another week that resulted Plus one more week. (Already more that a month without a TV)

As an alternative they asked me if I want to upgrade while paying extra 80-150 pounds for "Samsung" or "LG" 50-55 inch's TV's.

If I am buying a 65 inch TV why would you even consider suggesting an alternative that is more expensive and smaller in Size?

So, Delivery of this TV was pushed again as supplier didn't sent it. And my waiting period extended by 2 more weeks.

At some point I had a new delivery date appear on my order online, I finally new when to expect it. Waited for that day to come, prior to the delivery checked it just in case to find that it changed and delivery was pushed once more.

Now I know a lot of you will Say why haven't you canceled it, Because it was cheap at the moment that I bought it. After more than a month of waiting it went in price by almost 70 pounds.

So I'm still calling and once again spending my money and time while explaining my situation, over and over to the Customer service agents to see if there is any change and when can I expect it. - and of course delivery was pushed once more.
(How come their customer service don't have it on track in their calling internal system of my issue so I don't need to repeat my story over and over like Mantra!)

After 2 and a half months of waiting I call again and Here is the Kicker, one of the agents says that if I still want the same TV model. I would have to pay extra 75 pounds, as the TV that was lost or stolen by them is no longer available and the one that they expect soon to have in stock from supplier went in price up so I would have to cover it

Can you imagine a person who is waiting longer than 2 months, making calls and emails been asked to pay extra to get the same TV that they lost???

I was frustrated to say the least, and angry I told the agent it's a complete non-sense and this is a completely new way of doing business in a wrong way.

I was numerous times asking to speak to someone from managerial and after 2 month I had finally reached one person.

Now, fair play to him, he tried his best to sort this out after raging calls (2 months and 3 weeks in on waiting.)

So after huge amount of calls and 3 months waiting time I finally received the TV. I didn't pay extra as this was a complete non-sense and manager at the top agreed on that.

Still, more than 70% of their service agents needs to be re-trained.

Although, I can't remember agent names (way to many that I spoke to), there was one very bright and good girl who tried her best to sort my problem over phone with utmost attention to details over Saturday and Sunday.

Well this sums it up and if you are still reading this - Please think twice before ordering it from them especially big TV's.

I know some people who ordered Laptops were satisfied with their service - unfortunately this wasn't the case for me. Never will I order anything from them.

Great Customer Service but frustrated with amount of time waiting for 1 Delivery.

My husband and I ordered 2 laptops from laptops direct. The customer service lady was very helpful except when it came to technical knowledge. We didnt mind that to much as she tried to find out the information. When it came to delivery they used 2 different couriers, DPD we know what time they would deliver and it arrived on time. However DX secure said they would deliver between 8am and 6pm but were 1hr 30mins late. The delivery finally arrivied at 7:30pm. There was no tracking available, with DX and once your item is on the van, there is no way for them to track, its down to your delivery driver. This is the only reason why we have given 3 stars. Laptop direct need to use DPD more and DX secure less in my opinion.
