Incomplete product support and poor result when trying to cancel subscription
The service didn't provide everything I was looking for, and whilst I was considering how to adapt a document, the paid subscription kicked in and after three months at the full rate it seems very expensive, particularly given its limitations in drafting a UK Will.
When I tried to cancel and arrange a refund, they refused.
I am no longer working and had hoped they would refund the final month (which works out over £1 a day!) but was disappointed with this and their attitude to solving the problem via their chat service. I did also ask to be sent a transcript of the chat but this seems to have been ignored.
Be very careful with this.

I used Law Depot for wills
I used Law Depot for wills, revocable trust and powers of attorney. I liked it a first, but for doing multiple documents it became quite confusing. Navigation is not intuitive and editing varied between documents. I had significant difficulty verifying and saving edits, which required repeated print outs to catch errors. Simple tasks became very difficult. Then I wasn't ready to sign the documents so I cancelled my monthly subscription, but when I tried to get back in I was only given the option of an annual subscription - around $120 vs the monthly of around $40. At that point I realized the billing practices are somewhat predatory and went ahead and edited the files I had downloaded and saved on my computer prior to cancelling. Was able to use adobe acrobat pro to edit and this went well. I would not use law depot again (unless I needed just one simple document), although I'm glad to have gotten the job done!

Catch 22, Beware of free trial
I deleted my account. I received an email from lawdepot.com saying that my account was deleted several days later and that I would not have access to my account. Lawdepot.com continued to bill me on required auto pay. Without access to my account I cannot cancel autopay. It’s a scam. Now I am in talks with the escalation team to get my $48 back.

After explicitly stating that they charge $49.99 or $50 PER MONTH I got two charges for the same within days of each other. Not sure what they're playing at, but for a legal service their finance department is dangerously incompetent and they owe me $50.

They say it's free, but after you type in absolutely every bit of your information, the only way to get your document is to sign up for a trial which will charge you if you forget to cancel before the trial is over. This is extremely shady business practice and wastes people's time.

This is one nasty company
This is one nasty company. I subscribed to an LawDepot account on March 6, 2026 to print out a child travel consent form. I canceled the subscription the same day immediately after I printed it out. I have only ever used this account to print out that consent form. However, I was charged three times on March 13, 2026, April 15, 2026, and May 15, 2026. I have the cancellation email I got, the cancellation message in the account, AND the last day I printed anything out (Which is MARCH 6, 2026!!!!). When contacted, they told me that “according to their records I didn’t cancel” then offered a one month “courtesy”. Then, they said that I apparently opened two accounts on the same day so that’s why they’ll charge me.
Never in my life have I ever heard of such insanity when it comes to subscriptions. When people have a 7-day free trial, the trial ends ON THE SEVENTH DAY and they can use the service for those seven days as long as the subscriber cancels before the seventh day is over. This company somehow wants me to believe that I started TWO trials on the same day on the same email on the same account?! It’s not like I deleted the account then started a new subscription on a totally new account. And they can also see that I cancelled that damn subscription on March 6 because I wanted to avoid being charged, and you can clearly see that I only needed and used the service on March 6. No wonder they are so profitable because they are scammers. Avoid COMPLETELY. They are a bunch of thieves who will come here repeating the same story they were telling the BBB because they simply lack the ability to understand anything their customers say.
LAWDEPOT, I am not interested in your “explanations of how the billing occurred”, your “inability to refund all my money”, any regurgitation of your unethical “policies”, or your tone deaf and frankly vacuous responses from “Linda from customer support”. I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK. How dare you go around scamming so many people!!!! Shame on this company!

After reviewing the subscription history, the cancellation confirmation you referenced was for your first trial, but the charges were associated with a separate second trial that was not canceled.
After the first trial was canceled, a second trial began on the same day, granting you full access to the account. That second trial remained active, the editor was accessed during the subscription period, and no cancellation was submitted before it converted to paid access.
LawDepot sends an order confirmation to the email address on file when a trial is started and a cancellation confirmation when a subscription is successfully canceled. Copies of these emails are also saved in the LawDepot account, and customers can view their subscription status from the account page at any time.
Because the second trial was not canceled before converting to paid access, the resulting charges were valid under our Terms of Use.
While we are unable to approve a full refund, our team offered a one-month courtesy refund as a goodwill gesture. We take customer concerns seriously and remain committed to transparent billing and reliable access for active subscribers.
