Excellent efficient customer service
My parents, who are in their 80s, wanted legal advice to update their wills. We contacted Sophie Forsyth at Lawson West who met with them. She advised them on the options available to them and the advantages and disadvantages of each which then enabled them to make the right decision for them.
Sophie inspired confidence from the first point of contact through to signing their wills and was always happy to answer (quite a few!) questions that arose following their initial meeting with her. They were impressed with the level of service they received and were extremely happy and relieved to have their new wills in place.

All I can say is pay a bit more for a proper job with a decent law firm , not these grifters.
No I won’t good luck in turbulent times ; just hope your clients ‘accord with your values’ seriously 😂

Do not use.unless you want mistake/errors/delays
Do not use..Leicester office we used them for a right to buy property, at the last hour we completed as they accused our mortgage lenders of having a technical fault when we check with them we were told they had not sent across the correct request also the invoice was changed from the original quote and increased by £200 - extra add ons later on! staff are lazy getting things wrong -Charlotte is a poor communicator and you can never get through on the phone to her, we had to send a number of emails chasing up the process it took longer than it should have 6 months! and they blamed all other parties apart from themselves. Do not use them if you are looking to purchase a property as there is excuse after excuse in the way they deal with you and the head of conveyancing Rachael contradicts herself in emails making out they are always right so there is no point in complaining to her as she only throws back things to you and makes you feel you don’t understand anything especially when you come from a banking background too! Our completion date was not full of excitement instead tense, stressful and painful to experience very disappointed with their service.

Can't be trusted financially
Leicester Lawson West.
For the last two years I've had to constantly check my invoices as a lot of the time they were wrong, always in their favour. Prices went up without notice. I had to use their conveyancer for the the Financial side of the divorce, over charged me for the service, then agreed a rate and then increased the rate without notice. At the end ripped me off with the deposit. Communication vague and then charge me to make it clearer. Don't trust what they say on the phone always get it in writing.

Very poor in keeping you informed about anything yet so expensive in comparison they think they are so good but unfortunately as a client I’m not impressed at all sorry..
You email them and they don’t even bother coming back to you even between their own offices there is no communication never mind the client….
My advice is DONT BOTHER
I found Lawson West to be amazing
I found Lawson West to be amazing. Natalie in the wills and probate team helped my husband and I to set up our wills before my husband went in to hospital for his spinal surgery. She was efficient and very knowledgeable about tax implications and also planning for our special needs daughter. I found the service really friendly, fast and I have recommended them to friends and family.
Not good
During our chain free purchase, we found Charlotte extremely difficult to contact throughout. Emails went unanswered for up to week and phone lines consistently rang out and then cut off.
Charlotte approved our proof of funds and then the following week, on the projected afternoon of completion, she requested lots more financial information from us, apparently at the request of her manager. This delayed completion.
Charlotte didn’t check that we had buildings insurance in place prior to completion, which was a legal requirement of our mortgage.
Generally, I have a lot on concerns about the quality of the work Charlotte carried out, she was anything but transparent and I would not work with her again.
Do not touch this firm with a bargepole!
Do not touch this firm with a bargepole! They are incompetent & give you wrong/bad advice especially regarding employment law/discrimination claims & they cause you more stress & anxiety. When you try to complain to them about their poor service they then all collude against you to cover up their failings, errors & mistakes, so therefore you have to complain to the Legal Ombudsman instead re professional negligence. The best thing I did was sack this firm & represent myself but they are now trying to take me to court re their invoice for their awful legal services!
Avoid at all costs. And I do mean COSTS
These solicitors "handled" my divorce for roughly 18 months before I eventually had to go elsewhere. I ended up taking advice from a different lawyer at one point just to see whether I should bother retaining this firm at all. Only one person was available to work on the case, they had more annual leave in one year than I have taken in five, possibly ten years and all correspondence is reviewed "in order" when they return. This meant frequent delays of more than a week and a simple letter and reply from the other side could take over a month.
They frequently pointed out deadlines were coming up, although not until the point they would have been unable to contribute anything (even if they weren't going on annual leave at this point, which happened at two crucial points).
Finally, my ex-wife was a company secretary not a director of my company, a crucial distinction that they outlined in documents to the other side (and charged me for reviewing and then sending the documents). The solicitor then proceeded to refer to my ex-wife as a director no less than three times in a hearing, twice after I had already corrected them. These people charged me hundred of pounds to state facts that they were then incapable of remembering when we got to the hearing. Please consider looking elsewhere.
Lawson Worst
Had a terrible experience with Lawson-West solicitors in Leicester during the conveyancing process of my late mothers house. Very poor communication and slow to react to any issues arising in the process. I found I had to do the leg work myself. When I complained via their official process I got no response on two occasions. When I finally got a response they advised I should go to the Financial Ombudsman. They said I would get a premium service as they charged a premium price. Poor experience and not good value for money.
