Total waste of my time

Having been called numerous times by this agency when I expressed an interest in letting out my property online, I finally agreed to a valuation.

Sophie from St Albans branch came out to view my late Mothers house, which I had travelled to. She didn't bring any literature with her about the company but said she'd email over all the details including their fees and pricing. That was 10 days ago and I've heard nothing since. Useless...

I feel very saddened by Leaders in the…

I feel very saddened by Leaders in the final charges to end my tenancy.
The whole 18 months I was living at 8 Chene Mews, St Albans, UK.
The landlord did nothing to clean up all the old tables and bicycles left by the previous tenant. His daughter.
Leaders did inspections but did not mention it to the landlord to remove and support their tenant
Now because I am not in the UK to defend myself, they are charging me.
I left behind one small sofa and a single mattress. I communicated I would pay for removal.
I received no communication back.
Only this seemingly automated negotiating tool.
The house was fully cleaned before I handed in the keys,
Again, I am being charged!
The shelf in the hall way fell and on my wife and she was hurt, I informed Leaders but nothing was done and the shelf lay their unfixed for a year.
Has previously mentioned , my tenancy originally started on the 1st May 2024, but the house was too dirty and also needed some painting.
I could not move my family in and had to pay for alternative accommodation at the same time, paying rent for 8 Chene Mews, for 5 days until the house was clean. I have pictures of the house I took on the 1st May.It was very dirty. Leaders don't care.

I feel Leaders only care about money and their Landlords and do not give a dam about the lives of their tenants and are happy to rip them off

Avoid they do not support you!

This company has run my property into the ground, have overcharged for repair works, have not carried out works that I have sourced, have not responded to communication in a timely manner costing me thousands. I have been ripped off by previous tenants and they have not represented me correctly then buried their heads in the sand when I made a complaint. I had a stroke due to stress and now have to sell my property

In response to your reply, yes have followed the complaints process which is resolved in your eyes and fault was found but all the issues are still there and I am still out of pocket due to the negligence

Renters avoid.

Rental tenant.
They are terrible with communication and getting response is near impossible, even after you try to explain your disability.
The landlord is money grabbing, which is only supported by this estate agent, the property was down run, in desperate need of modernization, which they won't do, yet will increase the rent approximately by 15% each year, even though the contract states 5%.
When you leave they will keep chunks of the deposit without providing an actual reason with evidence.

Any renter's, please avoid, find a better estate agent.
You can be a good tenant, but this estate agent will only screw you over.

Do not rent 15 Midway, St Albans, AL3 $BD

So almost 5 months into our tenancy. Still no fix to the central heating in two of the rooms. Still no remediation of the damp and water ingress into one of the bedrooms. Over 25 maintenance issues are still outstanding. This property is uncared for and the landlord has no interest in maintaining it. Do not let this property. Leaders as agent are unable to get any action from the landlord but happy to take a fee from renting this property in poor condition. AVOID. You’ve been warned!!

Avoid renting with them

I currently have a very bad experience with a very urgent repair that is ongoing for the last 4 months. Incapable to communicate effectively, ambiguous and unclear making you believe it is you the one unable to understand or miss the point of their so said actions. Very rude over the phone and generally showing no compassion or understanding towards you as an individual. Absolutely useless.

Utterly useless

Utterly useless. Take months to get anything sorted, can't seem to get basic admin things done. Have spent hours of my life chasing these people, inordinate amounts of stress. Anyone else would have lost their jobs but nope, not these people. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible Experience

Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!

I had an absolutely awful experience with Leaders in St Albans. For seven weeks, I was repeatedly reassured over multiple calls and emails that everything was in order with my rental property, that contracts had been signed, and that I would receive all final documents on the check-in day. They seemed confident, so I trusted them.

However, less than 48 hours before I was supposed to collect the keys and move in, I received a call informing me that the landlord had pulled out and never signed anything. This left me in an incredibly stressful situation, basically homeless with no place to go. They claimed they would help me find another property, but only offered one unsuitable option in Watford.

To make matters worse, it took them almost a week to return my funds, and after that, I never heard from them again. The lack of communication, professionalism, and empathy was shocking. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid this agency at all costs.

Terrible agency

Terrible agency! I strongly advise against renting accommodation through them. It's been a month, and we still haven't received our deposit back. They ignore letters and messages, and calling them is futile – they seem clueless. The landlord couldn’t help, as they control the deposit. Save yourself the stress and money. We're considering legal action to resolve this frustrating situation.

Poor Service!

Poor Service!! They don't take their role to follow up property management issues. My living place set up a new parking system at 14 August. The management office required the landlord to register the car no in online system. I have sent email and called them on 9 August without reply. Then I sent several emails to Leaders to express my disappointments on their service. In the next day, they replied us that they passed this issues to landlord to do the car registration for parking on 31 August.
Unfortunately, I have received packing charge invoice from the parking control company for unregistered car parking. The penalty is £60. Finally I sent email to Leaders to follow up this without no response for a week until today
This is unreasonable for us. According to the tenancy agreement, we are stipulated 2 parking spaces. I don't thing that I can't park my car on my living place and get a charge invoice for unregistered user.

Awful experience with Property Management Team

Incredibly unresponsive and lacking any customer service when dealing with a landlord who was breaching contract. The property management team never returned calls, deflected any accountability to help resolve issues and just didn't care. I would strongly recommend avoiding as there are plenty of other quality estate agents in St.Albans
