So i visited Leigh cars to buy my first car this week, to help me throughout when looking at a car to then purchase the car. I had Cameron at the dealship help me through the process of everything, making it go smoothly and not feeling pressured to buy a car if I didn’t like, high recommend to look their and would 100% go back again :)

Exceptional Customer Service

I’ve recently purchased my new car through Leigh Cars. They were absolutely fantastic! Super friendly and helpful, was happy to answer any and all of my questions and the whole process was super simple. Collection was really easy, and the car absolutely exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely spotless inside and out, and all the documentation was prepped and waiting. Highly recommend!

Camron is the man

Fair price

The Kia Rio I purchased was very presentable and had had a thorough clean inside and out before it was delivered to me. The car was delivered promptly. Cameron in particular was a pleasure to deal with. There was a small cosmetic issue with the car that I noticed after delivery, which I phoned up about. Daniel did get back to me quickly about this.

Poor customer service after purchase

I have purchased a number of vehicles from this company, and prior to my recent experience I have repeatedly recommended them. However this is the first time a vehicle has had an issue, and when enquiring about my rights for work to be done under the Consumer Rights Act, Leigh Cars were incredibly rude and patronising. The cost to repair my vehicle is extensive and unnecessary rudeness from the company has left me disappointed. I will not be retuning or recommending them further.

Unfortunately we are unable repair your vehicle free of charge as the fault with your vehicle was not present at point of sale in June 2025 and you opted to not take out any additional warranty offered to you at point of sale which are available to all customers through our partners at AA for a maximum of 24 months. Whilst we appreciate this is frustrating when a car has a fault, we are always here to help and support fixing any vehicle and as you are a previous customer of Leigh Cars this will always be done as cost effectively and quickly as possible for you. If you wished to book your vehicle in with the service team to rectify the issue with the vehicle then please do not hesitate to get in contact and we can arrange this for you at a fraction of the cost of the extensive repair quotes you may have been quoted elsewhere. Once again, we apologise you feel let down by our approach but we are unable to assist free of charge for faults on vehicles that were purchased 4/5 months prior with no extended warranty in place and clear evidence that this fault was not present at point of sale, which was sent on email to you recently. Could do better

Unfortunately the overall buying experience could and should have been better, which was a shame as the sales staff were friendly and not at all pushy in any way.
The vehicle purchased was a £14+k BMW which I was informed had originally been factory fitted with run flat tyres, and therefore came without either a spare wheel or tyre inflation kit when originally sold. The current tyres fitted where not run flats and therefore I requested a tyre repair or inflation kit. On the day of collection this wasn’t provided, meaning that had we had a puncture on our journey home, our only option would have been to call a break down service. When I again queried this, I was advised to try and not get a puncture on our way back!.
When I test drove the car a week prior, I had requested petrol to the value of £20 to £30 to be put into the car for when we collected it, as there were 58 miles showing left in the tank. I was again very disappointed to find that when we collected the car 7 days later, that it still only had 58 miles left in the tank.
So after collecting the car and before we could take it home, we had to make a detour to both Halfords for a £12 tyre repair kit and the petrol station. I can maybe understand these small extras not being included when spending a couple of thousand pounds and margins are minimal, but not when we had paid the full asking price on a £14+k BMW.
The small dealer gestures where they go out of their way to make the customer happy is what makes a customer return or recommend that dealer. For the sake of £30 to £40, and effort by the dealer, would have made this customer much happier with the experience on what should have been an enjoyable visit as we were very happy with the car itself, and not felt the need for this somewhat negative review.

In light of your reply and the points that you made, let me expand on those comments for a clearer picture, as it appears that there are a few points that YOU have casually failed to mention in that reply.
Your initial trade in offer was £400 less than what had been offered by ‘We Buy Any Car’ (as I had informed you). The 63 plate 80k mile Fiesta that we traded in came with 11 months MOT (with 2 required advisories for low tread tyres), a month old full service with new pads and discs, a new cambelt + recent new battery (all receipts supplied). Therefore the extra £300 that you offered still only brought this figure to £1800, from the £1500 originally offered. The further £100 shortfall went towards the essential additional warranty that was required.
The standard warranty that you offer is only for 30 days, whereas nearly all dealers offer at least 3 months. Therefore, anyone wishing to protect their investment for more than 30 days must take out an additional extended warranty.
The salesman asked us to leave a review when we collected the car, which I have done. Not all reviews are going to be 5 star unfortunately, as that is the idea of how reviews work. I’m very sorry that you appear unhappy with mine, but it was an honest review of our experience, which gave both positive and negative feedback.
It would appear that as a business, you do not take either criticism or accountability particularly well, and this is something that it seems you definitely need to work on, as customer relations are everything to a small business. As for my need to be ‘more realistic’, you should be ashamed of your comment.

Unfortunately we are unable to please everyone and whilst I appreciate your comments, it’s a shame you feel the need to leave us a poor review on both Trustpilot and Google over £40 when you were given £300 extra in your part exchange value along with a free warranty - usually £349, something casually left out of your reviews.

Whilst we appreciate your feedback and take it on board, a missing pump kit on a used car is hardly worth getting disappointed over, nor are we a fuel station… The vehicle you purchased as indicated had 58 miles left in the tank. We are unsure of the issue you have with this as you had no fuel promised to you on your order and invoice. I’m sorry it has appeared to ruin your sons purchase experience but maybe you need to be more realistic in future. Best wishes, Leigh Cars.

Sold me a dud. Day time running lights not working (MOT FAILURE) Brought this to their attention the following day.
No interest in resolving the problem.
So I am now left with a car that is illegal to drive and a bill of in excess of £1000 to make roadworthy.
Avoid this business.

Hi Richard, I think it’s fair to say you’ve left quite a bit out of your review so I’ll elaborate on it further to give a fair understanding to anyone who may be hoping to read your review to gain an understanding on whether they can trust us as a business when buying a car through us. We complete a thorough pre sale preparation with photo evidence of any defects, all available to be viewed. It also has an independent MOT, completed before your purchase, this was advisory free. You part exchanged your Nissan Qashqai with us and failed to mention the fuel pump issues and timing chain issues and therefore lied to us when we asked you if there were anything we should know about your vehicle, nothing was stated. Thankfully we are pretty realistic that used cars have concerns and issues and not everything is perfect, something you clearly seem to struggle to understand on a 80k mile 7 year old vehicle. You raised some concerns after sale regarding air conditioning which was rectified free of charge, you then raised that one of your daytime running lamps was not working, we advised we would try and rectify this for you free of charge yet again even though this isn’t covered within your warranty terms (consumable item), however, as the vehicle you purchased was a Tekna + we realised after looking through our usual suppliers that this light comes as full LED unit and the lower spec Tekna light units would not be suitable of which we had sourced but had to cancel the order. We approached Nissan who quoted circa £700 for a light unit and we explained to you that this is uneconomical for us to repair due to the age and mileage of the vehicle and the fact we weren’t even liable to replace it - we were just trying to help. We advised that we would continue to look for this particular light unit on the used market but as it is very rare it’s very hard to find, We have numerous messages from parts suppliers confirming our attempts to try and source this replacement for you but they have all been sold before we could buy them. We cannot produce a light unit if we cannot buy one at an economical price. You then threatened us about your rights over email and gave us a deadline of 2 days to rectify it, which obviously is completely unfeasible. Whilst we appreciate your comments, we’re not going to pay Nissan £700 for a whole new light unit on your vehicle when it was working when it was independently MOT’d and purchased by yourself and is not covered within the terms of your warranty. Sometimes lights fail on 80k mile 7 year old cars at any given point, much like fuel pumps and timing chains failing. We wish you all the best in resolving the issue but due to this horrendously inaccurate review you will no longer be receiving our help from here on out, we are not your personal charity to rectify consumable products on your used vehicle. It’s a shame that unreasonable customers like you take kindness for weakness, we will not be bullied over email or via reviews so you can get your desired outcome, that’s not how we work.

New Car

I brought a car from this company near two weeks ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. After previously buying two cars from a different company and having loads of problems, I was worried about trusting another dealership.

I found a car I liked on Leigh car’s website and went over to see them. Elliot was helpful and explained about the condition of the car, which was good and then when I went back to pick my car up, both Elliot and Cameron were helpful. They explained everything about what comes with the car and helped me pick the correct warranty, also helped with other bits and gave me lots of paperwork which I never had with the other dealership. Highly recommend this company.

Am very happy with my new car and so far everything seems really good with it.
