Don't hesitate to use Les Cycles

Ordered a bike on Sunday evening and received Wed morning. Bike came "part built" All gears, brakes etc were set up perfectly, which is a big improvement on the last bike I purchased from a well known store. I had to fit handlebars, front wheel and pedals, but then out on road with no issues. I Had asked customer service a few questions before ordering and received very quick, detailed responses.

If you are worried about ordering a bike online, then don't be. Great service at a great price does still exist.

Excellent service!

Bike was delivered immediately even though i purchased it only a week before Xmas. Communications were excellent, even on Boxing Day! And bike was refunded straight away despite fact I’d had it built after my son changed his mind. Guys in the shop were super friendly and helpful even down to recommending bike tracks for us to visit.
Highly recommend!

Sent me a damaged bike, paid for by me to be delivered, appalling service end to end…..

Sent me a bike on 17/12 (£20 delivery also paid) with cosmetic damage which I reported by email on 18/12, within 24hrs of receiving a new bike - this a requirement which you only find out about when you open the paperwork attached to the boxed bike! Also sent an unboxing video and pictures.

No one responded, so I chased it up on 22/12 to be told the email team who aren’t on site, would respond the same day! What an absolute joke they are - either keep the damaged bike and they’d apply £40 discount on a bike worth hundreds - or - return it, as they had no more in stock!

Appalling so called customer service which they RAVE about on their IVR and website!

Given the delay in responding and 3 days until Christmas, there’s no chance I’d get a replacement
from elsewhere - which I’m sure played into their lame offering of £40 which wouldn’t even buy a decent helmet! It would cost them more to collect the bike and further absorb the cost of the damage when selling a ‘grade B’ bike!

Against my moral being, I had no alternative but to keep the damaged bike and take the measly £40, otherwise I’d be letting my 7yr granddaughter down on Christmas Day and I just can’t do that!

I also had to try and adjust the breaks (unsuccessfully) which I shouldn’t need to do because the break pads didn’t fit around the front whee after unclipping / re clipping the brake line when fitting the front wheel which they were adamant I didn’t need to do! Apparently the brakes adjust themselves to fit the tyre which they don’t because unclipping / reclipping loosens the brake line too much to the extent the front brake isn’t effective!!!!!!

Prior to fitting the front wheel, I discussed the damage and the brake issue with a member of staff via the advertised telephone number, who actually got a bit shirty - talking to me like I was the problem, not the bike! Really helpful - NOT!

The second member of staff I spoke to about it was pleasant enough but they also told me I didn’t need to adjust the breaks which I’ve just had to do! Prior to and after the adjustment, I could / can squeeze the front break all the way and it’s not going to stop the bike - so who’s wrong LES’S CYCLES? A brake that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do! This is the job of a cycle mechanic and it should have ALL been sorted before I received the bike! Now I’m going to have to pay someone to sort the breaks out, so the bike is safe to ride which will probably cost me the £40, so I’ll be left with a damaged bike that I paid £20 to be delivered - HAPPY CHRISTMAS LES’S CYCLES (NOT!!!).

I’ve had a previous bike from a different online store who I had no issues with from start to finish - no damage, no issues with breaks or anything else for that matter - such a shame they didn’t sell the bike Ive just bought from Les’s!

Would NEVER (EVER) order anything from them again, not even accessories and WOULD NOT recommend!

What a great company to deal with. with

What a great company to deal with. I ordered my son a mountain bike on Friday lunch time and it was delivered on Monday lunch time. Within an hour of putting the order in a received a phone call confirming delivery etc. Item arrived in the original Scott box, but having been checked over and gears all set up. All we did was put the front quick release in the wheel and attach it to the forks. Attach the handlebars, seat and pedals (for which you need a pedal spanner). Great service and you can even ring them for help in assembling the bike if needed. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again. Oh and the bike was half price too.

Wife's Bike via Halfords C2W

Had a very good experience getting a bike from this shop for my wife via Halford's C2W scheme, which I anticipated to be a headache. Called the shop and was advised to email in and someone would pick it up online - very helpful person arranged the whole thing within about an hour including redeeming the voucher and reserving the bike. A week later her bike was here and delivered.

The bike after about 3 weeks developed an issue with one of the brakes - I called the shop and they advised I could either bring it to them or if more convenient take it to a local Scott dealer. Even though I'm not too far away, its far enough, and I have a shop closer so took it there. Les's Cycles spoke to the shop and warranty work was arranged, a week later the bike was fixed and has been great since.

Ordered my little boy 24” Scott’s bike

Ordered my little boy 24” Scott’s bike. Had to have it delivered to parents address and stored in a unit due to having a small house and needing to keep away from little boy until Christmas. Payed to have a built and dropped off Christmas Eve night to see they had send the wrong size and sent 20”. My boys main present.. could not let him wake up Christmas morning without a bike. Sent numerous emails where I felt like they weren’t apologetic enough and had said I should have checked prior. However if they had done their job correct in the first place then it wouldn’t have happened. Got told they would swap it but they would collect the bike first and wanted it in original packaging although the box had been disposed of as the bloke who kindly built it for me was none the wiser. They would only collect the wrong bike first and then deliver out the new one later date as they didnt trust I would give the bike back. Told me if I would keep the bike they would offer me an additional £40 refund as they believe their prices are the best around anyway. Overall customer service felt very let down. Forgetting to add that they missed off the helmet from the original delivery also and when I emailed they told me they sent a replacement one out but not in the original colour I had opted for.

In our opinion this is a completely spiteful and unnecessary mischaracterisation of the entire situation to make us look like some kind of evil business out to spoil a child's Christmas when it could NOT be further from the truth! We have to respond to this in several points;

- We apologised both by email AND on the telephone for the mistake, its literally the last thing we intend to do because it upsets customers and costs us significantly as a business, but some mistakes are unavoidable in everyday life. We were sending out several HUNDRED bikes per week and our crew were working seven days per week, often 12 hours plus per day to try and get these deals out to customers right up to Christmas. We were EXPLICIT across the ENTIRE WEBSITE that the CUSTOMER MUST CHECK THE PRODUCT when it was delivered, we even stated that we didn't want to be blamed if that did in fact happen and there wasn't time left to sort it out (your order was delivered 02/12 and could have been sorted out and swapped over in just a few days) - and in the few other examples of this happening, only yourself has taken this kind of reaction to it, everyone else has been understanding and no one else asked for or received extra money off.

- You refer to the £40 extra discount we gave you out of gratuity almost as if its an insult, when in fact it is a significant amount, maybe not to yourself, but it would be to most reasonable people. The bike you have is brand new AND suitable for use by your son, so you now have a bike that we have lost money on at a price no over person could get it yet you are still not happy about getting the discount and wanted more.

- We offered to have the bike collected and swapped over - its not our fault you disposed of the packaging and its generally accepted by pretty much everyone that you should always keep the packaging for a certain amount of time - what if you decided to return it because your son didn't like the bike? Would it still be our fault that you disposed of the box?

- The original helmet you ordered was sold out, and a replacement was offered to you, for which you did not originally respond and once you did, it was agreed you would accept it and it was sent out. Out of stock products are common, especially when they are low quantity - unfortunately we're not Amazon and from time to time stock counts are incorrect.

Brilliant service just when it was needed

When you're out for a quick ride around Canvey Island and your chain breaks, it's handy when it happens so close to a great bike shop. A round of applause please for lescycles.co.uk, who came to the rescue. The team there really know what they're doing. I know where I'll be getting my next bike.

Bike took a little longer to arrive…

Bike took a little longer to arrive than I was expecting, over a week, however, they had already built it up and set it up so there was very little I had to do but ride it! Excellent service, would definitely HIGHLY recommend! I'd buy from these guys again for sure.

Scott Addict 40

Purchased a scott addict 40. Bike was delivered 2 days after being purchased. Arrived early am of the 2nd day. Bike was packaged safe & secure, however the box was bumped in transit - causing a little dent on the rim.

The team were quick to offer a replacement rim and they supplied me with lights & bottle cages as an apology for the inconvenience.

Great service & communication. Would happily buy another bike from the team.
