Fantastic experience buying an engagement ring remotely

I found Lester & Brown online while looking for an engagement ring and, despite never actually visiting the shop, the whole experience was excellent from start to finish.

I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted after viewing their website. Everything was arranged remotely, either over the phone or through WhatsApp, and I never felt at a disadvantage for not being there in person. They were incredibly helpful and talked me through the different options and sent me videos of the actual diamonds I was considering, along with the certification details, so I could properly compare them before making a decision.

initially I was a little apprehensive about doing the whole thing online. However, the communication and level of service from Lester & Brown gave me complete confidence in what I was buying.

I eventually chose a 2ct lab-grown oval diamond in an 18ct yellow-gold low-set solitaire, and I’m absolutely delighted with the finished ring. It’s exactly what I was hoping for and looks even better in person.

A genuinely personal service despite everything being done remotely. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lester & Brown, particularly to anyone who has found them online but is unsure about buying an engagement ring without visiting the shop.

The diamond fell out of my engagement ring and I took it to L&B to reset it. When I wasn’t happy with the result, (the setting was slightly different to the original), Ian immediately offered to redo it free of charge. He showed me the setting he was going to use and once he had the setting did the job in a day. I’m very pleased with the result and my ring looks like the original and Ian has done a great job. He also de tangled and fixed a gold chain free of charge for my daughter 🫶🏻. I’d highly recommend Lester and Brown 😊

I can’t recommend Lester & Brown highly enough. I’ve visited them a couple of times now and have been so impressed each time. It’s a wonderful local family run jewellers with such a warm and personal feel. The father and son team are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely passionate about what they do. I’ve bought jewellery from them and also had something specially designed, and the care, attention to detail and quality have been exceptional. They have also fixed my husband‘s watch strap ensuring it was done carefully. Nothing feels rushed or overly sales focused. They really take the time to listen and make sure you’re completely happy. It’s lovely to be able to support a local independent business, especially when the service is this good. An absolute gem in Poynton and somewhere I’ll definitely be returning to.

I wore a dress ring for years which I loved and went to Lester & Brown to see if they could replicate it. Ethan was brilliant and did a cad drawing for me to look at and it came in within my budget. I decided to go ahead and five weeks later I have my beautiful ring, exactly the same as my Dress ring. All the staff were friendly and helpful a very professional service. I am one very happy customer. I would definitely recommend this jewellers if you require any bespoke jewellery.

The team couldn't have been more helpful. They understand how customer service is supposed to be and have made me a very happy customer with their attitude, perseverance and technical skills. I dont go into jewelry shops normally but they made me feel welcome and valued. I highly recommend these guys.

These guys! Not just your friendly neighbourhood jewellers but truly skilled in their design, craftmanship and advice in negotiating our way through the creation of our dream ring. Were trustworthy and open throughout and have built enough faith to drive further business with us both in the future, we wouldn't go anywhere else. The whole team are exceptional and we cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and influence on what isa stunning piece of jewellery. The best.

The service and care I have just received from Ian and Ethan has been exceptional. I had a beautiful diamond ring that I wanted to reset as earrings and they modelled a design for me that is personal and perfect. I absolutely love what they have created for me. Highly recommend

Ben made us feel welcome and at ease. He listened to our request & budget and created a beautiful design. We then tweaked the design, which was no problem! I’m a visual person so they created a mock up of the design so I could see the idea come to life, even putting stones in to really see what it might be like. It fits well and I’ve already had lots of compliments! It’s not my first time using L&B and I’m hoping it won’t be my last!! Start to finish a really easy and fun process to design the perfect engagement ring! Thank you!

I had 3 tings designed and made , from the design process to the finished rings was completely in the loop I was even shown detailed lifelike CAD drawing I couldn’t be happier .

Ian did a fantastic job of completely reproducing the metalwork of my vintage ring (which belonged to my husband's grandmother) in a way that it is now good as new and strong, whilst preserving the 1930s style. It was so important to me that it still looked like the original ring and he took time to fully discuss how we could achieve this. I am grateful to have found my way to someone with such skill and expertise.....it is perfect!! Thanks Ian!

I went to Lester & Brown with my late mother’s engagement ring and asked them to make me a pendant with the diamonds from it and some other diamonds I had.
I am absolutely bowled over with the end result! They listened to my ideas and designed me a beautiful piece of jewellery,
The care and attention to detail they showed was second to none and they kept me updated from start to finish.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else for jewellery, either bespoke or off the shelf.

We have sought the expert services from Lester & Brown for many years and their customer service and professionalism is faultless.

On the 1st January 2026 I turned 40 and for the last few years have mentioned on numerous occasions that I would love an eternity ring to fit my engagement & wedding rings ( which were made by Lester & Brown).

My Husband plotted behind my back secretly to get one designed and made by Lester & Brown. At Christmas he made the error of missing the opening hours to pick it up and realised that the odds of me receiving the eternity ring on my Birthday- New Year's Day, were very slim.

He reached out on their website via the message service and was astonished to receive a response from one of the owners, who was willing to save the day. He opened the shop just for my Husband in order for him to collect the ring.

The eternity ring is stunning and perfect. I cried on receiving it and feel very blessed.

Can’t recommend the service from Lester and Brown enough. The diamond and platinum necklace was for my 50th birthday and it had been left it a bit late to order it but amazingly they got it to my husband on time for me to open on the day. It is stunning, I am over the moon, thank you!

I'm indecisive and picky (the worst combination!). Ian and David helped me to think about different designs and styles over coffee, sharing amazing 3D designs to help me visualise the end result.
