Lost my pet due tragic accident

Lost my pet due tragic accident, was asked to pay maintaining amount of my cover, otherwise they won't release my claim..had to pay for the rest of my few months of the cover. Wouldn't recommend to anyone! Didn't get any update until I rang them myself, plus trying in any possible way not to pay for the claim. Discrase.

Just don't

I’ve been with Lifetime Pet Cover for over five years, paying thousands in premiums the entire time. The first and only time I tried to make a claim has been an absolute nightmare.

I’ve been given the runaround for months between Lifetime Pet Cover and their underwriter, with neither party taking responsibility or providing clear answers. My claim hasn’t been processed, communication has been awful, and at one point their paperwork even stated my dog had died at a point I wasn't at home.

To make things worse, my policy was suddenly renewed under a completely different underwriter with a higher premium, all while my original claim and complaints remain unresolved.

After five years of loyalty, this experience has shown me that this policy was a complete waste of money and time. Avoid this company – the moment you actually need them, you’ll discover how poor their service really is.

Like other providers, we have a regulatory duty to ensure that coverage remains continuous for our customers and that any eligible claims continue to be protected. To support this, we send renewal invitations ahead of the renewal date, outlining any changes and giving customers time to decide if their policy still meets their needs and their pet’s needs. Although we have recently changed the insurer behind our products, this is not the reason for any increase in your renewal premium. Premiums increase each year due to the natural rise in risk as pets age, and we aim to be as transparent as possible about this.

We acknowledge that there have been frustrations and shortcomings in the handling of your claim and in the communication you’ve received. This is not the standard of service we strive to provide, and we are genuinely sorry for the distress and inconvenience it has caused.

Please be assured that your concerns are being taken seriously, and our team will continue to work with you to reach a fair and satisfactory outcome.

Great News! They have gone back to previous underwriters

I did a review last year slating the company as they had changed underwriters who treated you as a brand new customer & had to have all pets history from Vets. I went through the complaints procedure to get the support I needed
Just received my renewal to find they have gone back to the previous underwriters (thankfully). My boy is nearly 9 & the renewal is just over £50 (we do claim every year as he takes daily medication) which has only gone up by £6pm & excess is the same.
I will be claiming in November again for his Meds, so will update my review after claiming

Ryley- great customer service.

My coverage was renewed, but there was a problem with the direct debit, and two months' payments did not go through. Meanwhile, my pet had an accident that required expensive surgery. At the time, I didn't realise there was an issue with my direct debit. I contacted the company, and Ryley, a customer support specialist, was amazing. He took my details and managed to resolve the issue. The customer service was excellent, and he was a pleasure to talk to.

Was looking for a quote but excess is high.

Was looking for a quote and although the monthly cost seemed reasonable the excess is £195! Other companies offer £69 or less...

Stay well away

No star at all
This is a warning to all pet owners considering pet insurance Stay well away from this company unless you are willing to read pages and pages of terms and conditions in which you will find that you have no rights, very little opportunity to make claims and cannot even cancel your policy without paying the full
Years premium We were told that this company were taken over by a new underwriter who completely re wrote their terms and conditions to make it virtually impossible to claim They are underhand slow dismissive and don’t care and quote the terms and conditions all the time beware the small print This is a cowboy company and should be struck off Stay well away

It isn’t clear from your review whether your concerns relate to a claim, a cancellation, or the terms and conditions in general. If you are currently experiencing difficulty with a claim or cancellation, our customer service team is ready to assist. If you do not receive a satisfactory outcome, we can raise a formal complaint on your behalf, or if you prefer you can raise a formal complaint with us directly, so we can fully investigate and address your concerns.

Terms and Conditions
We understand insurance documents can feel lengthy, but like all insurers this is to ensure full transparency and explains to our customers exactly how our policies work. The policy wording forms part of the insurance contract customers sign up to whenever a policy is purchased or renewed and details what is covered and what isn’t. We give 14 days both once a policy starts and then again at every renewal for customers to review the policy terms and conditions, where any changes to the prior year are explained and decide if the policy is right for them or not.

Cancellations
If a claim has been made during a period of insurance and is then cancelled for any reason before the policy is set to renew, the full year’s premium is payable, as the insurance policy has been used and coverage has been provided. If no claim has been made in a period of insurance, you can cancel within the first 14 days of the policy starting to receive a full refund. After this period, refunds are calculated on a pro-rated monthly basis for the time cover was provided.

Any changes to our policies upon renewal are designed to provide clear, fair, and transparent coverage - never to make claiming more difficult. We would greatly value hearing more about any specific challenges you’ve experienced with claiming, so we can address them directly.
