Not really impressed with the handover takeover of my new bike. The salesman didn’t appear to know very much about the technical aspect of the Bike, including what accessories the Bike had.

I spotted a listing for what could potentially be my dream bike but it was so fresh through the door to Lings that they had not even managed to upload any photos yet. Leon however was great on the phone, got me a video of the bike within 20 mins and also sent over loads of detailed photos. After sleeping on it we spoke about a deal and with a good price offered for my two bikes in part exchange I signed on the dotted line. I am in Dorset so quite a long way from Lings, but filled with confidence with the knowledge and service Leon provided, I couldn’t have felt more sure buying a bike remotely. Delivery was then arranged within the space of a week and my two bikes were also collected at the same time. The bike I received was in good condition as described and I am really enjoying it. Could not recommend Lings enough to anyone whether local or afar, Thank you!

Dropped in as I had an issue with my 1200 GT pro not finding neutral. Matilda arranged a suitable time slot for me to drop the bike in when I could wait and the service staff bleed the clutch.
As promised no charge as this was a repeat of a previous occasion.
Jordan also very polite and friendly whilst I was there.
Top service and I’m very grateful

To be honest , Disappointed !!!!
I thought buying my next bike , a low mileage second hand and not brand new model would be a good move from a Triumph Main Dealer but as it turns out , Not so !!!
To start with all was good , a nice comprehensive Video walk around by Gus who informed me it had only just come in and would be cleaned and put through their work shop before delivered to me , I then travelled 130 ish miles to see it . I liked it and did the deal with Tom the manager ( as Gus was on a day off ) he emphasised it would not be released from their premises until it was tip top and can not be released until it is all ok and been checked as they are a Triumph main dealer !! Anyway delivery day arrived, no problem with that , great delivery guy and all went well and at first glance it looked great .
Excited I decided to look over my new bike , it very quickly turned to disappointment, the bike was filthy not been cleaned well maybe a quick wipe over with a duster ! I don’t think a drop water and a sponge got with in 100 yards of it !! I then noticed the exhaust was loose !! A closer look I found two of its mounting bolts were missing !! So I called Gus and express my concern that if they hadn’t picked up this obvious item in the workshop inspection , was the rest checked and was it safe to ride ?? He said the workshop was not his department but assured me it was ckecked over and said he would send me a copy of the check list . I emailed him photos of the missing bolts and bad valet and requested the copy of the workshop inspection and to this day have heard nothing !!
Have had bike checked over by another triumph dealer for my piece of mind who picked up the tail light was insecure and exhaust baffles have been removed which will possibly be an mot issue and technically illegal to use on the road , so this has now cost me a new exhaust system to rectify !!
VERY DISAPOINTED !
Would I recommend or buy from them again ? No I don’t think I would !!
Some work is needed to improve at Lings Triumph !
Just a quick comment on the replie from Tom at lings :-
Thanks Tom for contacting me even though it’s 2 weeks late and via trustpilot , surely its courteous for you to get in touch with me in a couple of days to address any concerns raised via a personal phone call ? It’s not down to me to contact you .
And when the bike was delivered and unloaded from your van I pushed it in to my garage, it was not ridden at all before I noticed the exhaust was insecure and the bike was not cleaned which if you looked at photos you could have seen !! I then contacted Gus . Can you explain how the bolts became missing and the bike covered in dirt and chain grease between your workshop and my garage ??
Very unprofessional and awful !!!

Friendly staff and helpful sales people. Although if buying new, ask about the datatag security scheme. I knew nothing about this scheme until bike delivery!

I paid for the bike then it took a month to arrive. I had to constantly chase for information. The only deadline that was actually on time was the delivery date. And on receiving the bike. I had been informed that there was damaged to it. My bad. I got the bike from Norwich. Not Essex
Ok up date it is now the 6 sep 2025
They replied to me saying sorry you Phil disappointed with your experience. What actually means. We’ve done nothing wrong. We all feel disappointed sometimes.
When I purchased the bike, they said it should arrive to me in two weeks. Neglected say that the Bike is not in that shop. And when everything slowed down. I began to chase. Phone calls emails et cetera. But 80% of communications was coming from me. A lot of times when I found I got told that they would phone me back and never did. They sent me emailed me stuff to sign. And replied to some of my questions. Apparently that clarifies constant communication and updates. Remember that updates part. After waiting for them to get the bike to them. And inspect it. Sort out the paperwork. We’re at the two week mark pretty much. So already running late.
They then gave me a delivery date between two and 2 1/2 weeks later. They later told me if I was unhappy with this they’d get it to me sooner. And I feel that’s what they should’ve done from the start seeing as the Bike was already late. But because I didn’t complain, they made me wait for it.
Ok the damages to the bike somewhere in between inspection and loading the van the bike got damaged. They decided not to find me auto, tell me that the bike was damaged before delivery. They phoned me up telling me the bike was an hour away from delivery. Still hiding the fact that the bike is damaged and they’re fully aware. The bike finally gets to my door. Once the bikes out the van, the delivery driver tells me that the crash bra damaged. Not only that I can see the bikes dirty got a fine layer of dust and dirt all over it. Nothing to shout about, but they hadn’t even wiped it down before sending it.iPhone Lings. They won’t tell me how or when. But they have said they’ll take liability for the crash bar.
Ok the first ride of my brand-new bike after I had wiped it down. I took it out I’ll get about five minutes away from home. I noticed that the front right hand guard is trying to yeat itself off the bike. I take it home have a look at it. I noticed it’s scuffed and loose, so I tighten it back up. Not a massive annoyance I’ve only just got the bike. It took long enough to get here. so I’m not sending it back. After that, I take it round to Frend’s house and immediately he noticed. A small chip out of mind display of my bio is pretty much a small tablet what controls the whole Bike all of this damage is around the same area at the front of the bike. It leads me to believe that the Bike’s been dropped on its front right corner. I sent him photos of the additional damage I found. And they reply I don’t know how that happened. At this point I have reached the end of my tether. I posted the review up top. And on Friday, they gave me a phone call. I was like cool. They’re probably finding me up to figure out the damages and what they can do to smooth things over and make things good they spent about 10 seconds talking about the damages. It didn’t seem that important to them. However, they were very interested in the one star review. Feeling it was a bit harsh. Apparently, they’ve been very transparent and have spoke to me all the way through the process. They also phoned me when it was getting delivered. However, I had to phone them back to clarify that they were aware of the damage. And somehow they they took credit for that too. After explaining the whole situation and they’ve already read the post. I ask them how many stars today they think is acceptable. They leave two or three stars would be great. They asked me if I could think about changing my review. I said yes, I’ll think about that. And I have changed my review to this. It’s not about the mistakes you make it’s about how you fix and proceed in the process. They did tell me that there were very few bikes damaged and I can completely believe that because they’re terrible emitting fault and making good. To the point, they would like to reach out and defend themselves. About a question I got asked. I am of the opinion if you don’t want my honest answer don’t ask the question.
