AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP IN YORK
AVOID LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP IN YORK.
I purchased a Range Rover SV Autobiography from Land Rover York on 31/05/2025 as an Approved Used vehicle, and the experience has been a complete nightmare.
Within two weeks, the car had to go into the Sheffield service centre due to a burning smell in the cabin (still unresolved). Soon after, I discovered multiple serious issues: a broken rear armrest, rear air vents not working, vibration in the steering wheel when travelling at speed, massage seat not functioning, missing undertray, and lot more.
The most serious concern is safety-related — I later found that all wheels had been cracked and re-welded in numerous places, something I was never informed about prior to purchase. When I raised this with Land Rover York, they admitted that their “approved used” inspection and 3rd party MOT centre have missed these but they checked the tyres and brakes ( but cracked wheels were misses) 🫣🤫
Despite acknowledging these failures, both the Business Manager and Head of Business treated it as if it was no big deal, saying welded wheels were “fine.” This is unacceptable — cracked and repaired wheels on a vehicle pose a serious safety risk and are not fit for sale. The technician stated on the report that the vibration of the steering is being caused by welded wheels yet it doesn’t seem to be an issue for the dealership. I will be taking this case all the way to the end but 1 step at a time.
I expected quality, honesty, and safety from a Land Rover main dealer. Instead, I’ve been left with an unsafe, defective car and no real resolution.
Avoid Land Rover York. They clearly cut corners, fail to properly inspect vehicles, and do not take customer safety seriously they clearly prioritise profit and costs before safety.
You might come across a clown who is called CHRIS SAULT used car sales manager who is rude, arrogant, cocky, big headed and unprofessional from the very beginning interrupting constantly, and showing zero respect.Instead of trying to communicate or help, he acted irritated and dismissive the entire time. His attitude is completely unprofessional and unnecessary. It’s clear they have no idea how to treat people with respect or handle a simple conversation.
Complaint was made to head office regarding these issues but all head office did is stick up for their dealership and couldn’t give me explanation. very poor.

Needed help from ser
Initially I found my experience to be negative, but raising this with Lloyd's has initiated a very positive response from several sources within the group, i now feel that there is a positive desire to help me sort out my problem, and provide the kind of help I need.
Thanks this kind of support is what makes you feel valued as a customer.

Newcastle Bodyshop - What great service!
Called into the Newcastle bodyshop today to get a quote for some paint repair. Some birdpoo had left a nasty mark in the paint on the rear door of my Porsche Macan. The assessor came to look and immediately took the car into the valeters who machine polished out the mark in 10 minutes. No charge, and even gave us coffee while we waited. Can't beat that for service - thank you!

Visited your Jag dealership today Awful Receptionist
Visited your Jag dealership today, dropping a car off for a customer. Upon arrival at service reception, the receptionist was rude, abrupt and unhelpful stating "avn't eh clue" when I handed her the keys and told her who they were for. Luckily another receptionist heard and knew about the prebooked vehicle. Unprofessional and no manners. She's let you branch down!!!
Dishonest and Harassing
This company does not respect its clients. They keep calling repeatedly despite being clearly asked to communicate by email only – it has become harassing, with multiple calls a day.
They also promise that vehicles can be sent to any Lloyds branch, but every time I’ve tried to arrange this, it turned out not to be possible. I tried multiple times without success once.
We bought my car from them over a year ago, and their part-exchange offer for that vehicle was far below the expected price – even less than the guaranteed future value stated in the PCP agreement, despite three years still remaining.
When they respond to reviews, they often distort facts to suit themselves, which is very disappointing. I have all documentation to support everything stated here.
Liars and Thieves
Bought my current car for 10k from Carlisle under 2 years ago. Trying to part exchange it back when it is currently worth 8-9k and they offer me 3.5k. Even cheap car buying websites offer more. Absolutely shady practice. Also their ads promise they can move the car you want to see to closer dealerships but on both occasions Carlisle centre is never ameanable to do this.. It sounds like Lloyd Motor Group not only scams you but also false advertises. Disgusting shady practice.

I’ve just collected my new BYD Seal…
I’ve just collected my new BYD Seal from Lloyds Carlisle today and couldn’t have been more impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff in particular Derek Fulton the sales exec who was a pleasure to deal with who went above and beyond from start to finish.

Purchased Sealion 7 excellence in July
Purchased Sealion 7 excellence in July, couldn’t be happier with it. Lovely car, comfortable, so quiet, tech amazing, drives well and milage it does as advertised. Derek Fulton at BYD took care of us through test drive to purchasing, explaining everything we needed to know. He was very knowledgeable and made the whole process a lovely experience and even contacted us a week after collecting the car to make sure we were happy. The whole team at BYD were friendly and helpful. We have since purchased a second car and would recommend the brand and the team at Carlisle BYD 100%.

Sales were great but Service team was abysmal
Sales team were brilliant but let down by after sales service team. My Kia display says the service is due in 4 weeks or 850 miles. I called Kia Carlisle a week ago to arrange a service and was advised that someone would call me back. No call after 7 days so I called back to be told the next service appointment would be in at least 6 weeks and advised me to call another dealer. Very poor service. I'm grateful to Kia Durham for fitting me in within 2 weeks and providing a courtesy car. That's how you provide a quality service and go the extra mile.

Our salesperson was Ryan Dale
Our salesperson was Ryan Dale. Ryan was professional, polite, knowledgeable and patient. He spoke to us at length about the car we proposed to buy. There was no hard sell and he answered all of our questions fully. We are delighted with our purchase and would like to thank Ryan and the team for a 5 star experience. We would not hesitate to recommend Lloyd Jaguar at silverlink

Total joke
Well I wouldn’t purchase a car from this company as they offer you peanuts for your part ex but over price there stock offering me less than webiyanycar and using them to gauge my car what a joke wanting to give me £11k for £16k car 🤣🤣🤣🤣
South Lakes Lloyds - rather "sharp" sales practice
Pre-booked test drive appointment and some quite helpful advice from the sales person we booked in with but truly amazed to hear they sold it to someone else whilst we were out test driving it! An adjacent member of the sales team was clearly listening to our conversation and contacted another customer whilst we were out driving the vehicle to take the sale himself with a deposit. The sales manager described this practice as entirely acceptable and offered no form of apology in his defensive and repetitive response.
Fortunately I have since found a far better deal in a different BMW dealership group.
Sales focused yes but not customer focused.
Shocking and disappointing service…
Shocking and disappointing service department (YORK)apart from the main problem of nobody ringing back when leaving messages as they were all away from their desks .I had booked my car in for a safety recall on the steering and this dealer was the closest to me(30 minutes away),the wait for a slot was a couple of months in front and there was no chance of a courtesy car and they might have my car for 1-5 days depending on the extent of the repairs so I had to arrange a lift both ways. The work was completed in 1 day so I collected my car but immediately noticed the steering wheel wasn’t straight and the car pulled to one side. They asked me to return the following week so they could carry out a further 4 wheel alignment so insisted they come to collect the car from my home which they did then service department rang at me 4 to say they had tried 4 times to rectify the problem so had decided to out source the work to another company so the car wouldn’t be returned until the next day however I insisted they returned the car as I needed it the following morning. When the car was returned the car and steering wheel was in out of line down to the opposite side and pulling to the right .An agreement was made that I take it to a garage near me and they would refund me for the work which was how we rectified the problem however if I had checked the reviews I would never have taken it there in the first place very disappointed

Wouldn't recommend
Wouldn't recommend, sad as I bought a mini from them and it was great but having purchase a BMW 4 series everything went great apart from the after care as the driver seat had a large amount of wear, which wasn't visible when bought so I enquired on what they used to cover it up so I could do the same. To never from Jamie again multiple emails no reply and now his email is out of use so he must've moved on from them.
Very disappointed as it might not have been brand new but it was a lot of money to me and to just have the salesman ignore your query. It's such an eye sore I've had the car almost a year and I'm struggle to stand to look at it every time I get in. The mark only got worse the more I cleaned it through the year which suggests to me its some sort of leather polish that eventually cleans off after I've got stuck with the car, sneaky in my opinion to not be honest and tell the person buying the car.
Lloyds Bodyshop in Newcastle - Professional and High Quality Service
Lloyds Bodyshop in Newcastle were so helpful, friendly and supportive in a time of need following an accident with HGV.
Paul R and his Newcastle team offered brilliant service with constant updates. They got in one of their own courtesy cars before insurance sorted me out so I was able to continue my journey down south. Once I got a courtesy car from the insurance company the repairs took 2 weeks due to waiting for parts. During that time the insurance courtesy car had a tyre issue and i was off the road for two days. Lloyds body shop called me and offered to drop one of their cars off while i waited for a tyre. Something i wasn't expecting.
The repair on my Porsche is top quality. They showed me around their centre and they has some impressive (and unfortunate) cars in being repaired. I would trust Lloyds bodyshop in Newcastle with any repairs.
Congrats on Paul and his team running an impressive and friendly service.

Incredible service from Mike Duthie A+
I felt I had to write a review regarding my experience of Land Rover Carlisle. From start to finish, the experience was nothing like we had ever experienced at a car dealer. The original call was dealt with friendly and professionally. We drove for over 1 1/2 hours with three kids to view the car. When we arrived, the receptionist was so friendly and couldn't have done more to help. The salesman was Mike Duthie and he was incredible! So friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and nothing was a problem. He sorted a good price for our part exchange and listened to our needs. He worked out a great deal and we were blown away by the service. When we collected the car again the reception (a different one) was lovely, and Mike had done everything as promised. It was a busy day in the showroom and he still found the time to talk through everything with us. I can't thank Mike and the team at Lloyds Land Rover Carlisle enough for all their help and we'll be getting all our cars from Mike and Land Rover moving forward. Incredible service A+

Zero stars after sales customer service
After sales customer service from Lloyds Cockermouth should be a zero star rating.
After buying a Lloyds used approved mini from Cockermouth, I noticed discolouration and damage to the black trims. I was asked to book it in at there Blackpool branch, as I live in Blackpool for them to have a look. Staff there informed me that the affected parts need replacing.
Cockermouth then informed me I'd have to pay £350 towards having the parts replaced as they are not original mini parts. I objected to this as I purchased the car in good faith as a Lloyds approved used mini.
I then received an email from the branch manager from Cockermouth, basically informing me it's my fault for not checking the car properly and he'll contribute up to £350 for me to arrange replacements. His email was patronising and condescending throughout.
I forwarded his email to Lloyds company secretary, as per their grievance process and have had no response.
Disgusting after sales customer services.
08/07/25- still awaiting a positive outcome?!!
