Absolutely awful service, took our money but no furniture.

Absolutely awful service, please avoid unless you want an enormous amount of stress.

In June we placed an order for a sofa and a bed, and were told 5-8 weeks maximum (you can actually see my happy review after that experience below). Last week I sent a follow up email as I hadn’t heard anything an our order was due last week or this. This is where it all went catastrophically wrong.

Fast forward a week and I have sent Loaf ten emails, my husband has called their customer service 15 times, and each time we have been told a different story about where our furniture is, when it will get here (answer ranging from the end of August till October). We have spoken to 6 or 7 different customer service reps who all said they would call us back with a solution and they never do. We have been told we would have a loan sofa sorted immediately and then been told we won’t. We have been told over and over they will fix it and nothing has happened. We are now out £4,500, we have nothing to sit on or sleep on, it is our sons first birthday this weekend and our guests will have no where to sit. Our holiday has been ruined chasing this. We are now being ignored by Loaf. I honestly can’t believe how catastrophically bad their service is or how much stress it’s caused. We’ve pleaded for a manager or someone with the ability and authority to get us a loan sofa sorted immediately to fix this and nothing. The most frustrating part is it would be such an easy fix, with some clear communication and an ex display sofa until ours arrives. We really don’t know what to do now, and loaf just seems to have shrugged at it and told us there’s nothing they can do.

Please please save yourself the stress and don’t buy from here.

Hi Natasha,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and please accept my sincerest apologies for the distress and frustration this has caused you and your family, especially during what should be a joyful time, celebrating your son’s first birthday.

It’s completely unacceptable that you’ve had to chase us for answers, be passed from one person to another, and still not receive your furniture, or even the clarity and care you rightly expected. We’ve clearly fallen far short of the service you deserve, and I want to assure you that your concerns are being taken seriously.

I’m truly sorry that your previous positive experience with us has been overshadowed in this way. I can only imagine how stressful and disappointing this must have been, especially when it could and should have been handled with much more care, urgency, and consistency.

I will personally ensure that we review your order in full, understand exactly what’s gone wrong and work on a solution immediately. This includes exploring all available options for a loan sofa or an ex-display piece, so you’re not left without somewhere to sit or sleep any longer. I’ll also ensure I am your single point of contact, so you're no longer bounced between different team members.

I will be in touch shortly with a detailed update and proposed resolution. In the meantime, if there’s anything else you'd like us to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and ask for me directly.

Once again, I am so sorry for the upset this has caused, we are determined to put this right.

Warm regards,
Paris

Worst purchase I’ve ever made

I saved up and bought a wool Loaf sofa in 2016 and it has turned out to be the worst purchase I’ve ever made. Over the past few months it has become completely infested with moth larvae, leaving visible holes that keep getting worse despite doing everything possible to treat it; freezing the covers, deep cleaning, sprays, lavender, hoovering, steaming you name it.

Loaf offered no support, and the Guardsman protection plan I paid extra for was completely useless. When I called for help, I was basically told it was my problem. There was no warning at the time of purchase that this fabric could be so vulnerable.

I’ve been left with a sofa full of holes, ongoing stress, and absolutely no backup from the company. For the price, this is completely unacceptable.

The sofas may look lovely, but you’ll be on your own if anything goes wrong.

Hi Hollie,
Thank you for shopping with Loaf!
We appreciate the time taken to leave us a review.
I'm so sorry to hear that your sofa has been infested with moth larvae.
Moths are naturally drawn to dark, undisturbed areas. Such as the spaces beneath furniture as well as to natural fibres like wool, silk, feathers, and even certain upholstery materials. These environments provide both shelter and a rich food source for moth larvae.
Depending on the species, temperature, humidity, and availability of food, moth larvae can live undetected within soft furnishings such as sofas for up to 30 months
This extended life cycle makes infestations particularly persistent and challenging to identify in their early stages.
Unfortunately, any issues that arise beyond this five-year coverage period would fall outside the scope of the protection plan and would therefore need to be addressed at your own expense. We understand this may be disappointing, but we are always happy to offer advice or guidance on possible next steps or solutions where we can.
We'll reach out via email to discuss further.
Kind regards,
Manny.
