Here’s a natural English review:

I had an excellent experience with this car rental company. The staff member who helped me was incredibly fast, friendly, and professional. I even received a free upgrade, which was a very nice surprise.

Returning the car was just as quick and easy, with a smooth and efficient check-in process. The entire experience was hassle-free from start to finish.

I give this car rental company a 10/10. Perfect service and highly recommended!

Attendant claimed we wee short on gas, filled up 21 miles earlier.

When I went to turn the vehicle in at the Port in Rome, we had stopped to get gas and fill up 21 miles befroe arrival. Driving the Fiat 600, I know that short distance did not consume much gas. Argued with your attendant, and since we were short on time to make our crusie ship, it was a waste of time. Cost me 71.52 euros. Very frustrated.

I am quite disappointed. A terrible experience.

I am quite disappointed. I rented the car based on the price compared to other rental agencies. The cost of the insurance was extremely high, which came as a surprise. Additionally, I was returning the car in a different city, and I hadn't been informed that the office was closed on Saturday afternoons or that there was no option for after-hours drop-off.
I was supposed to return the car at 12:00 PM, but due to a death in the family, we were delayed and I arrived at 1:16 PM to drop it off.
Despite this, there was someone at the office who said the system was already closed and she couldn't process the return. I explained the situation, and she accepted the car with the understanding that she would update the system the following day; I agreed to this. She and another person—who wasn't wearing a uniform—got into the car and drove off. The tank was full, as required. To my surprise, I was charged for an extra day, a refueling fee, and the cost of the fuel itself.
I found this outrageous; my situation regarding the family death wasn't even taken into account, and I was charged unfairly. A terrible experience.

no key drop off at this location made…

no key drop off at this location made it very expensive to return the key. we were late but not that late. No phone number to call to location. never again, i'd rather walk.

As in many city locations the key box for late drop off is not guarantee. We are sorry you couldn't find a phone number, but the signed rental agreement and the voucher issued by the intermediary report our phone number and email address to get in touch with the returning location and informing in case of late arrival.
We always suggest to check the booking date and time to be sure to be on time for the returning and void extra cost.

Don’t always listen to negative reviews

I have read many horrible reviews about this company, but I have now used them 2 times in Italy and had a great service.

A bill was sent to us for "damages"…

A bill was sent to us for "damages" that were on our vehicle while non existed, and none were commented on upon drop off. I asked if it was okay and he confirmed it was when I signed. Days later I am given a report of these made up damages with my signature underneath it. Crooked and very bad practice and will not use again because of this. The experience up to this was fine, but the deceitfulness at the end after we were gone has ruined the experience. Terrible business for trying to retain customers.

Also, you are asked to sign it for acceptance. In this way, pre-existing damages don’t generate issues when returning the vehicle. When dropping off the car or the van, you are welcomed by our parking staff who invites you to check the conditions of the vehicle. I can only say that renting a car has…

I can only say that renting a car has never been so easy and FAST!!! Alex was amazing in English and in providing all the necessary informations about our rental agreement and also gave us amazing tips regarding traveling safely. It took around 8 minutes for us to register and also to have our car. Best one yet to try in Italy. 🇮🇹 Will surely be back again

The vehicle was great for our family of 7 adults and 14 pieces of luggage.

The difficulty was trying to communicate using WhatsApp. No response from the company we got the car from Locauto.

A decent experience with a few “even better if’s …”.

Booking process and selection of vehicle was very easy. Price/package was very competitive.
An area of improvement is the signage to indicate where the office for pick up is. This is a desk in a broader tourism offer office. There was a small promotional flag outside the entrance but with significant queues extending outside the entrance (for the hop on hop off and train ticket products), this was obscured. It took us some time to locate the office.
Also, I had booked an estate vehicle to specifically accommodate 3 large bags and 3 small bags (per the quote spec) but was given a hatchback which really only could accommodate a large bag and and intermediate one. This was a bit problematic and we had to use space inside the vehicle with the passengers. I would have expected a similar vehicle to what was booked. That said, the vehicle was good quality and we made it work.
