we paid 20 euros extra at the counter for an 'upgrade' as the receptionist said our booked car was not available as we went an hour early (but I saw multiple cars of what I booked at the parking lot). The car itself was a slight upgrade technically, but in the entire parking lot, it was the only car that was really dirty outside and the person at the lot was so rude and he said it was because it was parked under a bridge and that they do not offer the service of washing vehicles. The car was also damaged all over, which was already marked. Thankfully the car worked well and didn't have any issues after that.

Regarding the cars you noticed in the parking lot, please keep in mind that not all parked vehicles are available for immediate rental. Our lot contains cars just returned by other clients, vehicles waiting for technical maintenance, or models with a different transmission type than what you booked. We apologize that this was not clearly explained to you at the station.
We also take your comments about the cleanliness and staff attitude very seriously and will share them with our station management to ensure better service and communication going forward.
We are glad that the car performed reliably during your journey, and we sincerely hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.

We rented a car with Locauto after a horrible experience with Europcar, and it was amazing. The car was clean and in good mechanical condition, and the service was quick and great. Really recommended.

Stress free rental
Very easy to book a rental car on-line. Easy pickup, no waiting. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and unlike in the USA did not try to sell me additional insurance for items I didn't need. The car chosen was clean and the residual minor damage pointed out. Left happy. Return was very straightforward and quick, and again the staff were very friendly and helpful. Left again happy. Will definitely use again

We had the absolute best experience…
We had the absolute best experience with Locauto at Florence Airport, all thanks to Paloma! After another rental company unexpectedly refused to provide us with a car, we were incredibly stressed, as our whole trip depended on having one.
Paloma was so kind, helpful and reassuring. Despite us having no advance booking, she quickly arranged a car, took care of all the paperwork and had us on our way within 30 minutes. She truly saved our trip!
If you’re renting a car at Florence Airport, I can’t recommend Locauto enough. Thank you, Paloma, for making a stressful situation so much easier!

Despite the long queue at the rental…
Despite the long queue at the rental office the overall experience was a good one. Once served the staff were efficient and friendly and the car collection was quick and pain free! The car was not as clean as it could have been - food remains in the centre console but again generally pretty good overall. This is the third year running I have used them and would definitely use them again.
