I didn't like at all how the company Locauto proceeded from the moment I arrived at the office in the city on August 9th, having made and paid for a reservation through Booking.com. From the wrong number that was on the company page (on Booking) I tried to contact several times and of course they never answered! Because it was out of date!
By the time I arrived at Locauto's office at 6:02 pm I found a completely closed shop! Bars, lights... When closing time, it said 6pm on the site.
To the request for help I made to a lady who works in a travel agency (next to the Locauto store who also called, without success) explaining that there had been a problem with the bus, which is why it only managed to arrive at that time! That I tried to contact and that I couldn't, that I was with my son and had a paid hotel 60 km away! The lady went to the gas station on the other side of the street, called one of the employees who said that in 5 or 10 minutes he would arrive at the scene. I immediately thanked and waited. Ten minutes later, that employee called the gas station to say that he was not coming after all!
I was in a panic, I tried as much as possible to explain and ask the man ( of the gas station) for help again, saying that I was with my 14 year old son and I didn't even know where to stay! The gentleman did not communicate well in English and replied: "What do you want me to do? I tried, he won't come! Tomorrow!"
I had to find a place to stay, for €59.62 I found a place but I had walk for 25 min with luggage with my son, I had to stay in Perugia and wait for the next morning.
I arrived at the office the next day at 8:45 am ( by taxi, 13€ more) and when I started to speak, one of the employees tried to tell me that he closed around 6:07 pm to which I replied that it was not true and that I had the lady next door as a witness line to the fact that I was there at 6:02! I explained everything that had happened with the bus, the attempt to communicate with Locauto, showing the number that appeared on my reservation voucher, I asked why the employee on the phone had changed his mind and that I had to stay that night in Perugia, all the inconvenience it caused me! Finally I asked to pick up the car because I wanted to go to the hotel as soon as possible. The first word I heard was no! That it was not possible, that I had to contact booking or ask for assistance, and I wouldn’t be able to get the car! After repeatedly mentioning the words: I need your help, please help! And even still, I always heard the word no. I asked to speak with the manager, they replied that it would not work either.
Then, an older gentleman entered the office, who arrived in the meantime, and I don't know who he is, but I do know that even though he didn’t speak english, the empathy for the matter was immediate, having made some calls and guiding the employees on the spot. (Finally a light, and help) I spoke with Mateu, from Booking for more than 1 hour on the phone (after more errors in the system) the second time, he regretted what had happened and said that he would return the full amount of the reservation. I made a new reservation, and on the penultimate day of the reservation, I extended it for two more days.
In the end, they apologized for the inconvenience and withdrew €33.54. Has I said in the Locauto office, I wasn't going to let this situation ruin my and my son's holidays. But I lost a night in a rural tourism place and I even paid an extra night, taxi…. I made a complaint on Booking.com.
In the end I still thanked the final attitude of the company.
As I said from the beginning to the employee (who I spoke to the most) do you know the word kindness? Please help! I always tried to speak in a gentle tone with everyone. And this would all all have been unnecessary if they just listen and helped since the beginning.
