Replacement car needed
We had a flat tyre which was handled very badly. Instead of fixing a very simple problem, roadside assistance took the car away and left us in a rural area without a car. Locauto would not bring a replacement car to us, and we were without a car for 18 hours. I had to travel, at my own expense, to Siena to pick up a replacement car.

Car a decent model in good condition all ready to go. Both the issue and return of the car were smooth and hassle free with none of the made-up damages you get from many companies. A good experience- I would recommend locauto

Trustworthy smaller car rental brand
Sometimes I’m nervous of using smaller brands of car rentals but Locauto were excellent. Very quick and friendly service at both pick up and drop off, very simple to understand fuel policy, car was as described and in great condition. Would use again.

Everything was working well
The booking was easy and fast. No queues at all at Pisa airport and the car was delivered quickly. One door was badly damaged by earlier customers but that was clearly documented and did not cause any issues. Also car return to Bologna was working well and reasonably quickly.

Wrong car size and poor condition / smell.
Did not have the size/type of car i ordered - the car i was given was a long estate model instead of the compact SUV i ordered. The passenger seat had a stain on it, there was a stale smell and the car should have been retired given it's shabby condition. I raised this when i returned and they offered 25 euros compensation - which was nowhere near enough given i had parking issues for the week. Would not use again - trash firm

Very positive experience
The sales representative was very friendly and helpful. When we told her where we were leaving from she suggested a closer return location which was super helpful and saved us time and money. The cars was clean and comfortable.

Overall I suppose it was ok but I didn’t get the car I expected, it was an expensive rental and I was a hour early for pickup and the staff wanted to charge me another days rental which is ridiculous while the car is sitting there

We apologize for any disappointment regarding the vehicle you received. We would like to clarify that, as is standard in the car rental industry, reservations guarantee a specific car category (size, capacity, and features) rather than a specific make or model, based on fleet availability at the time of pick-up.
Regarding the extra day charge, our rates are calculated on a strict 24-hour daily basis starting from the moment the car is collected. Picking up the vehicle an hour earlier than scheduled moves your 24-hour window forward. To avoid being charged for an additional day, the car would also need to be returned an hour earlier at the end of the rental to stay within the agreed daily period.
We are truly sorry if our team’s explanation at the counter came across in a negative way; it was certainly not our intention to cause any frustration.
We appreciate your comments as they help us improve our communication, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a smoother experience in the future.
