I am deeply disappointed with the service we received at the Ravenna branch. We had a car booked (and fully paid) for 11:00. We arrived early, at 10:40, and there were no other customers. The staff member behind the counter apathetically told us our rental was actually at 12:00. When I pointed out it was scheduled for 11:00, he simply replied, “Oh, yes, that’s true.” I even asked if he preferred that we leave for a few minutes and come back at 11:00, and he said OK.
When we returned at 10:58, we found three other customers already waiting — but the staff member was nowhere to be seen. He finally showed up at 11:17 and attended to those customers first (which I understand), but every step of the process was painfully slow, with endless calls and repeated absences from the desk.
In the end, we received our car — paid for 11:00 and for which we had been ready since 10:40 — at 12:37. We lost the entire morning, standing and waiting patiently.
This level of service is unacceptable.

Hired Audi A3 . Car was a bit battered with 70,000km on the clock. However, I presumed this was mainly cosmetic. The problem was that after driving only a few kilometres a warning light came on saying that the break pads had come to the end of their life. This was an Amber warning light so I continued to use the car and it would have ruined our holiday schedule if I had driven back to the rental office, especially as I was returning it to another office. Also, I had an episode of the emergency call sign flashing for no obvious reason, although I gather this can be a problem on Audis. Overall it made me question the degree of maintenance that had been carried out. In general, I have had no real problems with renting from Locauto but this car was not up to the standard expected

Our experience at the Ravenna office was unacceptable. It took over 2.5 hours to collect the car despite only four customers being present. Staff were unfriendly, unprofessional, and clearly unhappy to help. To make matters worse, although we booked and paid for a VW T-Roc (medium/large), we were handed a VW Golf — a smaller car, not what we paid extra for. This feels dishonest and disrespectful. I will never use or recommend your company again.

I’ve recently hired a car from Locauto to drive from Ravenna to Venice, the team in Venice were great but Ravenna was awful. The customer service experience was awful and they charged me for two extra products without telling me! Terrible experience and taking advantage of me. Will not be using again!

I arrived at 0900 on Monday to return a car. The office was not open and there was no place to drop the key. I stood outside in light rain until 0940, by which time two others had arrived. I left the car keys with one of them and left. I do not know when the office opened.

Customer service was good.
Van was not clean. We found 3 beverage containers and trash throughout the van. The windshield was covered with dead bugs and debris that after a while of scrubbing it off myself I felt I could drive. As far as the performance of the vehicle I was never concerned about arriving at my destination and at the end of the day that was most important to me traveling all around Italy and Sicily with my family.

Because of a traffic delay I cannot pickup my car. They do not refund any of the rental fee. Really unfair and absolutely not customer friendly. BEWARE.

Car Rental Complaint – Delayed Pickup and Vehicle Class Downgrade
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to file a complaint regarding the car rental service scheduled for pickup on May 17th, 2025, between 10:00 and 11:00. We arrived at the location punctually at 10:00, and despite completing the Smart Check-In and providing all the required information in advance, the car was handed over to us only around 12:30. A photo proves our timely arrival and the fact that the vehicle was not delivered.
I accepted a different car because of the delay.
A different car means a different price.
This delay significantly disrupted our travel plans, and we lost valuable vacation time. Additionally, we were traveling with children, and the extended wait required us to make unplanned purchases of food and drinks.
Everyone else waiting in line had booked their rentals several days earlier, so the delay cannot be justified by a high volume of customers. It was known well in advance that we would be picking up the vehicle at that time. Other customers had also made their bookings in advance.
The vehicle was not prepared at all – the staff member only started reading the booking information and preparing the vehicle upon our arrival. The Smart Check-In procedure did not accelerate the process. There was only one employee on site, serving each customer for approximately 20 minutes on average.
Furthermore, we received a lower-class vehicle than the one originally booked. We reserved a car from the Opel Corsa class or similar but received a Fiat Panda, which is classified as a lower category in Locauto's fleet. Due to time pressure and the delay, we were unable to file a complaint on the spot. A different car means a different price = a different service.
In light of the above, I kindly request:
A refund of the rental cost
A refund of the difference between the vehicle classes
I ask that you review this matter and provide a response as soon as possible.

Waited 1h 20mins in a queue to collect the car at Ravenna (Italy). Still too much paper work and extra charges, despite pre booking.
Poor car quality. It had over 20 dents, scratches etc. After driving off the low tire pressure light came one and had to manage a slow puncher.
After being told we had the ‘any fuel level’ on return included, the airport (Milan LIN) had no record of this (nor did we) so added a further 40mins on to our return whilst we had to go and fill up.
Overall, a poor experience and one which, to me, felt like the car hire industry (based on other recent experiences), still has much to improve on their customer experience.

The service was unacceptably slow and the staff appeared uninterested in providing assistance. Despite calling ahead to announce my arrival, I was forced to wait for an hour and a half outside of a locked door. Furthermore, the vehicle provided was in an extremely dirty condition.

1- wait two hours to get the car in fco airport ( line very disorganized)
SHOULD INFORM THE WAITING TIME
2- got the car with the paint damaged ( as it was informed in the form) and got charged after returning the car! Again there was a huge line to return the car and I had to deliver the key and thrust the attendant ( unfortunately she was not honest).
