i have been buying cakes from Lola’s for over 12 years. I used to buy from them when they were not even popular. Recommended Lola’s to many friends and neighbors in the early days and always used to order from them etc etc. Always felt good visiting their stores. Had the odd poor customer service but overall positive.

Until today when I was so shaken by the extremely discriminatory and disrespectful behavior I had to face at their Greenwich Market branch. I wonder if the new job description for the customer service role has added condescension and mocking people to the required skills? Or Lola’s has started recruiting random people from the University of Greenwich without any customer experience? If so, a dangerous move for the brand, because this particular branch appalled me with the level of poor behavior displayed by the staff members in assisting someone with a hidden disability despite requests for help. I was with a young child and could not speak up for myself then but the attitude of the staff member was shocking. And then I email their customer service regarding this and guess what I get? A measly £7.90 voucher for free cupcakes. For something that shocked me, the way I felt treated as a human and with the level of distress it caused? As a response to discrimination, disrespect and condescension and even a wee bit colorism? The world is messed up enough already without a visit to a cupcake shop now becoming a distressing experience!

Very disappointed with you Lola’s, both with the store staff and the way my complaint was responded to. You let down a long term loyal customer.

Easy collection, great flavour and friendly staff in store.

Cake was delicious, kids and adults loved it, pick up was easy, couldn’t ask for more

Amazing customer service from Khalid at the Greenwich Market store. From his phone etiquette, to going above and beyond with the service provided with in-store collection, he’s an asset to the Lola’s team. No complaints with the cake, as Lola always delivers on flavour.

The cake was ready earlier than expected, pick up was very quick and they also showed me the cake at collection to make sure I was happy with it. Great service, thank you!

Cake was ordered and made is less than 24 hrs and was ready for collection much sooner than expected. The cake itself was soft and moist and tasted delicious.

I went to store in Greenwich Market. Noticed inside clean and tidy. Variety of cakes displayed including vegan. Friendly greeted received by staff member. I opted for a variety of cupcakes including a vegan one. No complains, vegan red velvet cake was very nice, everyone enjoyed their cake.

I bought this to celebrate graduating, a special treat; however, I regret this decision. The cake is not even supermarket quality. I am really disappointed and wish I had just stuck with M&S cakes. A LOT cheaper for more cake and BETTER QUALITY! NEVER BUYING AGAIN

Lola’s cupcake in Greenwich is THE BEST! I rang up to request that they hold a 2 birthday cakes and some cupcakes for me for my birthday, the guy kindly kept them aside until I arrived later on that day to collect it - he was such a lifesaver! Service was 10/10 - so friendly and so helpful. I will definitely recommend to friends and family and I will definitely be a regular in this branch!

Perfect selection I cannot fault any of the order! Wish had bought a larger strawberries and cream cake it was delish 😋

Defo ordering again and the pistachio cupcake yummy! The cream on top was chefs kiss balanced out the sweetness. Thanks for helping make my birthday a good one.

Lovely cake, I always choose Lola’s when it comes to birthday cakes and never disappoints both in quality and customer service. Wish you had more options for kids birthday cakes as at this point we have had them all!!

This is the seventh cake I’ve bought from Lola’s in five years and it’s the worst tasting one I’ve ever had. I hate to say this. And I’m an expert at this point they make the chocolate fudge/ ganache. Overly rich to the point it was sour to taste what a waste I’ve just spent £50 on a cake and always expecting the best from loaners.
