Ordered from mad about specs a few…

Ordered from mad about specs a few times over the years and service always great. I have a complex prescription and madaboutspecs is the only place i can order from online and its great. Will continue to order everytime i need a new pair

Can't get a response

Ordered 4 years ago and all fine. Want to reorder same specs as broke frame but now no response after multiple contacts
Gave them one star and they got in touch to say had an email issue. They've more than remedied the problem!

Over 6 weeks since order and still waiting

I would love to be able to give a review of my new glasses but after waiting over 6 weeks, I still haven't received them so it is a little difficult!
I placed my order on 22nd November 2024 and sent all the info they requested the same day and then heard nothing, apparently they acknowledged my email but due to a technical issue, their email was never sent out. I chased my order up on the 13th December to discover that the first set of lenses they received from the supplier had a chip in them and they had been rejected - it would have been nice if someone had bothered to let me know.
Communication then briefly improved and I was told my glasses had been dropped with DPD for next day delivery on 19th December.
My glasses are apparently lost somewhere within DPD as they still haven't arrived - I have emailed Mad About Specs 5 times trying to resolve this only to be told they have no control over the courier, they have tried chasing it and have I tried contacting DPD. apart from the fact trying to speak to a human at DPD is impossible, am not impressed that I am expected to chase the courier.
Have now given up and asked for a refund.

We take customer service very seriously and we truly do understand how upsetting this may have been. Once your glasses were dispatched with DPD, we also expected a smooth delivery. Unfortunately, they let us down as well, as we are currently in dispute with them over the inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately, both parties were very unlucky and were both let down. We emailed you several times and during the festive periods we are often so busy but external services slow down as a domino effect. As we were approaching the holiday period and preparing to wrap things up before we all take Christmas leave, this was the thing we wanted for you. We have never had any mail issues with this provider but this Christmas unfortunately we had 2 orders (1 including yours) whereby the orders were lost.

We assure you that we did everything we could on our end to resolve the situation. Your feedback us valuable to us. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out directly. We will always try to help where we can.

Good customer service

Good customer service. Stylish glasses. Very pleased overall. Quite a long wait but that was due to a small scratch on lens which didn't pass quality control.

I've had a previously good experience but..

I've had a previously good experience, but this time when ordering a home trial they did not send a bag/label to return the items. I've emailed them 3 times and can't get hold of anyone to arrange my return. I'm stressed that I'm going to get charged.

I ordered 2 pairs of glasses

I ordered 2 pairs of glasses, but one pair was wrong on delivery and the correct ones turned out to be out of stock, even though the website showed they could be ordered.
MAD ABOUT SPECS let me exchange the wrong ones for another pair of glasses, but since I live in DK they have to go through customs again, I have to pay new customs duties and then apply to have previous customs duties refunded. So the service is good, but it causes quite a bit of trouble that the UK is not a member of the EU.

We did send out the 3rd pair for free due to this mix up.
The EORI details would have been on the package as well as the custom code. This should have gone through without any hiccup.
We do agree with you. It would be so much easier if UK was still a member of the EU.

Very happy with my Varifocals :)

Great selection of specs to choose from (I did the home trial) I bought "Peterson in ash" as varifocals.
They are perfect! Any questions I had were answered quickly and I was kept up to date on delivery. Would highly recommend buying from MadAdboutSpecs.

Ignorant!

I emailed to see if I could use my NHS and a gentleman called Ravi said said yes and asked to send them the details. Again I heard nothing in return. So I emailed again and was told they needed a code and again I didn't receive a response for weeks. I have since emailed twice more over a period of couple of weeks and you guessed it...no response!
Absolutely useless. They must be doing so well that they don't need custom!

I am on my third pair of glasses from mad about specs. They're so easy to use and when I have had any problems, customer service has always been so helpful and understanding, particularly from Ravi. I love my glasses! Thank you :)
