Great customer service and absolutely love my new prescription sunglasses 😊

Once again Mad About Specs have done a fantastic job with my glasses. Good quality frames and a perfect prescription. I cannot recommend them enough.

I have bought 3 pairs of glasses and I couldn't be happier. The quality is superb and the prices very reasonable. Also, the customer service is second to none! They really bend backwards for their customers.

Products are top quality but it’s their customer service that really impresses me. I have 3 pairs of glasses from mad about specs. I love them so muvh i have gotten all my old mad about specs glasses reglazed with my new prescription.
And even got myself my first pair of prescription sunglasses.
They have somamy amazing styles to fit all faceshapes the try at home is the best i think in total iv had 8 home trial boxes they are easy to us and send back. And great to be able to see what glasses suit you and really give them a test drive.
Mad about specs understand fully what the customer wants and needs. And they fit perfectly into busy lives with great fast communication and great responses on all social platforms. I love seeing how people styletheir outfits to their unique glasses that reflect liytle parts of their personality. And after having a my babies i feel my glasses and ofc shoes can really help me represent myself again.

Replacement Glasses

I sadly lost my glasses,and contacted the team at Mad About Specs, they were really helpful in re-ordering them for me, finding a good deal and expediating the process to make sure I had them as soon as possible

I have used Mad About Specs on two separate occasions and would highly recommend them. They are very responsive to any queries you may have and are easily reached by both phone (important these days in my opinion) and email. I am extremely happy with my varifocal glasses.

I absolutely love love love my glasses.But it’s not a 5-7 day wait which is the reason for going with this company. I kind of felt customer service were fobbing me off with excuses as to why it took 17 days. They were moving,they waiting to go into glazing they’ll be sent the beginning of next week etc. I’d give them another chance and reorder from them hopefully they’ll prove me wrong and send it the 5-7 day time frame

These are the best varifocals I have had to date. They replaced a pair from Specsavers that were very poorly prescribed with the near distance not usable unless I pushed the glasses very high up on the bridge of my nose. I was told that was the best they could do and that I should get some reading glasses, which rather defeats the point of varifocals.

I have used MadAboutSpecs twice now, once in 2020 and now in 2022, and both times have been fantastic.
First time I had some prescription glasses made. The second time (Feb 2022) I had some some glasses reglazed into prescription sunglasses.
Order tracking was available and regularly updated. The correspondence I received throughout was friendly, with a personal touch at times. I will definitely use again. I would recommend.

Side note: the glasses case for my glasses is best I've ever had.

Love my latest specs, they are a retro type style with green wings and , as usual, I love them. I have bought several pairs from Mad about Specs and the service is fast, courteous and personal. Brilliant! And very good value for money. I used to pay hundreds of pounds for the right glasses, these work out at such a competitive price that one can buy several pairs for different moods.

UPDATE 23 September 2022 (7 months after buying)

This is an update of my review (below) from February 2022.

I have now been using the glasses for some months and I can give some feedback on the quality of the product other than the service.

I am not satisfied. The glasses are not in premium materials and the plastic looks cheap. The temples have been squeaking since day 1 and they seem too long to fit properly the hinges and the rims around the lenses. Customer service reassured me this squeaking would go in time, which didn't happen.

Moreover, in time, the temples became quite loose and require constant screwing. Please note I use the glasses occasionally - mostly by night or to watch TV.

Avoid this company, spend a bit more money and get a better product or spend less money and get a product of the same quality from cheaper companies.

PAST REVIEWS

This is an updated review since my order last month. I wrote a 5-star review just after placing my order. However, unfortunately, I am experiencing repeated difficulties since then. My previous review reflects my satisfaction any longer, so I had to update this.

On 29 January 2022 I've ordered a couple of home trials from Mad About Specs.

On the 7 February, they were nowhere to be seen. I got in touch with their customer service. They were extremely prompt in replying but I had to spend some time investigating the issue as they claimed the parcel was delivered. Only by accessing the Royal Post tracker I realised that MadAboutSpecs inputted the wrong address by mistake. I went to fetch the parcel from the wrong address on the 10 February.

This can happen. I was so pleased with the quality of the glasses that I ordered two pairs on the 15th February 2022. Customer service supported me through the process and they even applied 30% discount for me, so I was very pleased.

They were so kind that I immediately uploaded a 5-star review here.

The glasses arrived on the 22nd February - one week later.

The boxing was a bit disappointing - just a plain brown cardboard box. The home trial came in a very snazzy coloured and sturdy box, so I hoped in something more prime. The glasses came in rather plain black cases wrapped in corrugated cardboard fluff. Nothing special.

The problem, however, were the glasses. The lenses of both pairs were obviously wrongly made as I couldn't see. Moreover, one pair was completely the wrong colour, the size was too large compared to the model I tried at home and the temples looked crooked.

I wrote immediately to the customer service and we agreed I would return both items and include my old glasses so they could make the lenses based on these. I sent these the day after and I had to pay the costs of posting myself as the glasses don't come with a prepaid label for return. But I was promised they would refund this later on.

Today is the 10 March 2022. Almost a month has passed since my order and I still haven't heard anything from them. I just wrote an email and I hope the situation will be sorted soon. I am out of more than 133 pounds now and have no glasses.

This is all very frustrating. Buying glasses should be a pleasurable experience, a treat, especially given how much they cost. MadAboutSpecs have very good prices but they are by no means lower than average. Accidents and mistakes can happen. But firms that choose to glasses online need to be equipped to save any possible frustration and bother to customers.

If I could imagine all this hassle I would have simply gone to a high street shop. There are some excellent brands out there that have physical shops and sell glasses of higher quality at slightly higher prices, which I would gladly accept to pay to save myself the time I've spent on this.

I was truly excited about my glasses and now I feel the experience has been spoiled. If I don't see some concrete progress after my latest email, I will ask for a refund.

Disappointing. I don't recommend.
