Booked a 2-week stay in Birmingham City…

Booked a 2-week stay in Birmingham City Centre and had the best experience with Maevela! Checking in was easy as they sent us a guide and the cleaning was on point when we were out & about. Will be staying with Maevela again soon! 🔥🛋️

Not luxury

Not luxury. Filthy oven and trays. Sink not plumbed in causing flood. Only two wine glasses for 4 person appartment, rest were mismatched plastic. Worst of all on entry to kitchen laminated photos on wall of faeces , blood and God knows what showing states sheets had allegedly been left in by previous guests ! Hardly my problem when booking 'Luxury' .
Bathrooms and Beds were clean . Good location.

Such an amazing place and host

Such an amazing place and host, very easy to book , check in and check out. Amazing apartment very modern and classy , You forget its in birmingham because its so high end and very well looked after . Will be booking again , Company needs more recognition very professional host and easy to contact. Will definitely be booking again.

Maevela Apartments

Maevela Apartments
The apartment was difficult to find, there were issues such as a broken toilet seat, limp pillows and the plug in the bath wasn’t holding the water, which was disappointing as i had come from Nottingham. Its wasn’t all bad we had free Netflix, slept decently and was spacious. And the decor my partner did like :)

SCAMMERS

DO NOT book with this company. I booked and paid the price advertised, a week later they contacted me and said the price I paid was incorrect and if I wanted to keep the booking I would have to pay 4x the original payment. After a few days of them trying to bully me into paying more I finally cancelled the booking. I this was a one off thing I could probably understand, but I made 2 bookings with them through booking.com for the same price and they asked for more money fir both bookings. This bulling tactic my work on some people. I really felt that my consumer rights were violated. I have reported this to trading standards and really hope that they do something about this.
I don't know where you are from but UK consumer rights law states that once someone has paid the price advertised you as the vendor has to honour that price regardless of any loss to you.
As a veteran of this country I did not fight to keep it safe so people like you can break the law and get away with it

Hello Sean,

The owner here;
1) How can we be "SCAMMERS" if we did not host you or take your money? Your booking was cancelled and refunded...A very false alligation.

2) You were told many times that we are not hosting you at the incorrect price due to a pricing error which can happen with softwares.

We have allowed you to cancel for free but you have not accepted after us telling you via Booking.com messages.

Your responce was:
"I'm sorry but I booked this and paid already. If the price I paid is incorrect that is not my fault or problem"

No sympathy or understanding whatsoever, we never bullied you
You paid £55.41 per night for 4 nights for a 2 Bedroom Home. This works out to around £13 which is impossible, you could not even get a basic hotel room or hostel for that price in Birmingham.

We explained to you many times that this was a pricing error and we are certianly unable to host you at such a low incorrect price, instead you became very aggresive and addament that you DONT WANT TO CANCEL and instead kept bombarding staff on whatsapp, email and the phone many times after they explained the situation to you.

You can threaten my staff all you like but as said in previous communication we will not be hosting you.

Atrocious Customer Service...

Atrocious Customer Service.... hides behind Whatsapp saying they can only message and doesn't answer the landline number... Booked 2 apartments with parking included back in early October 2022 and after our stay we received a parking charge which Maevela say shouldn't have been issued and they would get it cleared. Now 13th December, the Parking Charge fees have increased and all they keep saying via the Whatsapp is "we need to speak to manager" but we get nothing positive.... we are ready to invoice Maevela for the charges and a service fee because they are useless ! Avoid at all costs unless you want to waste your time trying to make contact with these people!!

Atrocious Customer Service

Lovely looking apartments absolutely atrocious customer service. Tried many times to have a conversation with a human. Phone lines are rarely open and when they are, half the time their lines are just left ringing indefinitely. Tried to contact through WhatsApp and web chat, but 90% of the time there was no response, and the other 10% was an automated message. The one and only time I managed to speak to an actual human, they told me to contact them via Booking.com web chat (which is what I had been doing the whole time...).
Would have loved to use this place as my go-to apartment in Birmingham, but I cannot recommend them to anyone due to inexcusably bad customer service team.

1) You have not booked with us direct you booked with Booking.com.

2) You wanted to cancel a “non-refundable booking” with 1 days notice. This was NOT possible due to it being non-refundable.

This was explained to you many times.

So instead you’ve come here to leave us a false 1 star review even though you have never stepped into our apartments which you’ve admitted above.

We can’t even make this up if we tried, this is total blackmail and just envy.

Where do I start… let down and ignored

Where do I start.. we booked an apartment in Birmingham on the 4th may 2022 for Friday 23 - 26th September (3 nights) where we was interacting with the owner since we had booked. We paid the full amount 2 weeks before check in and was really looking forward to our stay which the pictures of the apartment looked amazing. Everything went down hill as we received a message from the owner 3 days before check in to confirm we need to cancel as there are other guests inside the room, there was no apology or no alternative option. I explained to the owner that this was unacceptable and that we had activities booked for the weekend and trying to get accommodation that short notice was going to be difficult. The owner (please see print screens attached) kept telling me to cancel and that a refund will be processed. The owner told me he had a alternative apartment if we was interested, which we was as it was short notice to book else where. When I kept asking the owner to what the alternative was I was told he couldn't tell me until
I cancelled the booking which seems really strange. The outcome was the owner cancelled our booking without confirming an alternative accommodation and refused to talk to me further with no apology, respect, and manners to do so. I am so disappointed to how we was treated by the owner and will not being booking with these guys again in the future as you cant guarantee your dates are confirmed. Thank you for making us cancel our trip.

Not sure why you have turned to Facebook & now Trustpilot when you have been fully refunded via Booking.com, not even a booking on our platform…

Oh well, allow me to respond as the owner and manager.
Unfortunately the property current guest has decided to extend for the entire month and we cannot evict the current guest, so we gave you notice and free cancellation, which you accepted and now decided to leave a negative review.

Bit sad but we can only honour current bookings and be fair to all guests.
Due to your aggressive communication we will not be hosting you at our apartments or any alternatives.

Quite rude that your friends are calling us “wankers” on your facebook posts made by yourself and now attacking us online.

What a nice thing to do, wish you the best!
We will not be accepting any bookings from yourself again.

"Large House in South Gosforth": Appalling

Appalling. When we arrived, the flat was dirty - cigarette end on the floor, rubbish under sofas which had obviously not been moved for cleaning, dirty, unusable pots, pans and utensils, rubbish bags and an old bath piled up in the back yard. Many standard kitchen items were missing (we had to buy basic items such as wine glasses, corkscrew, sieve and grater, as well as cleaning products). The wall mounted televisions all had unsecured wires trailing down the wall to sockets - not great with a toddler in the house. On the ceiling, there were the remains of a smoke alarm, and we found a carbon monoxide alarm in a drawer. Maevela did order new pans etc, and we cleaned the house ourselves. During our stay, the electricity repeatedly tripped; after a few times Maevela ignored our request for an electrician for a week (they never arranged for a check). For our final night we had no electricity to sockets; the heating had also broken down the previous day. We left early and eventually Maevela refunded the unused days of our stay. They have ignored all requests for any sort of compensation. This is the worst rental experience I have ever had.

Straight from the start everything was perfect, from response times and apartment choices. I would definitely recommend maevela to anyone that plans to come to Birmingham. 10 out of 10

Comfy, luxurious apartments in a great location!

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at the maevela apartments. We took our family (including 2 adults and 2 young children) up to the Christmas markets and the location was just perfect for getting in and out of the city centre easily (5 minutes walk to the start of the markets!). The apartment was really comfy and clean and offered a little luxury to make our trip special. The communication from maevela was great, they responded very quickly to any queries we had and the instructions they sent for entering the apartments were really helpful. We can’t fault anything and we will definitely be returning when we next go up to birmingham. We really loved our trip. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I booked to stay at this beautiful…

I booked to stay at this beautiful apartment and unfortunately my partner was taken down by corona last minute meaning we were unable to stay. The owners were so understanding and empathetic towards my situation and allowed me to cancel free of charge on the same day. I can’t express how grateful I am. I will definitely be re booking to come back as soon as we are healthy enough to.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

Loved it. The apartment is bigger in person and beautifully designed. The location is perfect. Close walk to everything: Broad Street and New Street. Host put together a handbook for guests, so we make the most of our stay - super helpful! The key collection and drop off was super straight forward.
Will most certainly be booking again!
