We are sorry you feel we only deserve 1*. We take all expressions of dissatisfaction seriously so having checked, we can see that the increase was 9.6%, which is mostly due to increasing (index-linking) your Building and Contents sums insured by 8.6% and 5.2% respectively, to try to keep pace with the effects increased costs of materials and labour. Whilst this is an increase compared to last year, it is much lower than your premium in 2021 and 2022. Believe it or not, and this may be no comfort but this years' increase is a relatively low. Home Insurance premiums have increased by over 20% in the last year according to various research.
We hope our explanation provides a little more perspective.
Excellent communication when resolving errors
There was a little blip after I had renewed my home insurance with Magnet. I made the initial error of an overpayment and Magnet was quick to inform me that I was due a refund. However, when this did not materialise, I had to chase it up a few times before it came through. The delay was caused partly through my error but also because the accounts team had used the incorrect account number in the first instance. At all times, however, communications were quickly responded to and I was very impressed with the way in which Josh Proctor, account handler, kept me informed at all times.
