Dear Brian

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We understand how frustrating it must have been not to be able to complete your membership renewal online before the end of the year. This period is always our busiest, as all member groups renew their memberships for the 1 January start date, which leads to unusually high volumes of calls and emails and can slow down our ability to resolve issues as quickly as we’d like.

We’re glad you were able to speak with someone in the new year to get things sorted, but we completely appreciate that this wasn’t the smooth experience you should expect from us. We’re reviewing how we manage year-end renewals to help prevent delays like this in the future.

If there’s anything more we can help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Music Bank

Website easy to use and resourceses very helpful. My one request would be for a bulk upload to the Music Bank. Our choir has 70+ titles with more than 40 copies of each, too much to add title by title. Inter-choir lending can make a significant difference to music hire/puchase costs, which in our case can reach £1,000/annum.

Dear Stephen

It’s great to hear that you’re finding the website easy to use and the resources helpful. And thank you as well for your excellent suggestion about a bulk upload feature for Music Bank. We completely understand how time‑consuming it can be to add large catalogues title by title, especially for choirs with extensive libraries like yours.

This is a really valuable idea, and we’ll be discussing its viability with our technical team to explore what might be possible in future updates. Inter‑choir lending is an important part of keeping music accessible and affordable, and we’re always looking for ways to support that better.

Great Support for Musical Groups.

Making Music provides a straightforward way for our community choir to obtain insurance, necessary for our use of a hall, and to pay fees to the Performing Rights Society. It campaigns to promote the social benefits of singing and music making as well as providing other support to musical groups. Our choir has been a member for years and would recommend it to others.

Hello Ray,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry that you encountered a system error when paying your PRS charge, which led to a duplicate payment. We completely understand how frustrating that must have been.

As soon as you contacted us, we confirmed both payments and processed a full refund for the duplicate. We’re also investigating the error message you received so we can prevent this from happening again in future.
We appreciate your patience and the helpful details you provided, which will assist us in improving our payment process. If you or your group ever need further support, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to our team.

Renewal experience

My renewal reminder arrived in good time for me to renew and the increase in cost was very reasonable.
My only area of concern is your website which is difficult to navigate and seems to lack a logical structure.

Human or system error…!

I was disappointed that my email address had disappeared from your system and so had not received communications from you for a considerable time, including membership renewal etc, which as Treasurer I am responsible for, and this had not been picked up.

Dear David,

We’re very sorry that our response to your query took longer than our usual service level. This time of year is especially busy for us, as all of our member groups renew their memberships for the start of the new year on 1st January, which means we’re handling unusually high volumes of emails and calls.

We’re glad we were able to help resolve your query about PRS, and we appreciate your patience during this busy period. Thank you for bringing this to our attention: it helps us improve the service we provide to all our members.
