Terrible service…
Terrible service…. I bought a ski jacket to go skiing ( obviously) and they said they tried to deliver to my house 3 times and they were turned away by the resident ( obviously they had the wrong house but still thought they would retry? Reskin or was this just that they couldn’t be bothered?) then they refused to deliver again and decided to return it to their own warehouse …. That was a month ago I have chased for my refund so I can actually go to a shop to get a ski jacket for my holiday but no they haven’t received it back and they say they can’t track it… rubbish they tracked out why can’t they track it back …. So still no refund … I complained and they said they cannot do anything u less the jacket arrives… terrible service .., poor deliver ( I didn’t actually get a jacket … no apology or attempt to try and find out where it actually may be.. refused to give my money back for something I never got…
6 months and still no replacement boots.
Bought a relatively expensive pair or hiking boots.
Soles fell apart and Gore-Tex failed after around 12 months of occasional use.
Sent back for warranty repair.
Several weeks later they replied with 'we cant fix your boots'.
Several more weeks passed - 'we will send a replacement, we only have X,Y,Z (different colours) in stock'. I respond with my preference.
Several more weeks go by, 'we don't have those in stock anymore'.
Utter shambles. All colours still available online, so clearly lying, or trying to ship used/returned footwear as my replacement. Now i need to try to force a refund from them as i've wasted 6 months already. They clearly have no interest in providing my boots.
Buy your outdoor wear elsewhere - Mammut have clearly 'sold-out' their quality, and customer service, like many other once-good brands.
Ongoing repair service with no resolution
I requested a repair service in September 2025 for one of my expensive jackets from MAMMUT. As of February 2026, I still have not received my item back.
I asked for four different parts to be repaired. Each time I contact customer service, I am told that they will check and contact me again; however, the repair team has not provided any response or visible progress, so there is no real follow-up afterward.
The communication quality is very poor. There is no clear status update, no timeline, and no direct feedback from the repair team. I have had to repeatedly ask for information, and the answers are always vague.
For a premium brand and a paid repair service, this level of delay and lack of communication is not acceptable. I expect clear tracking, transparent updates, and a defined repair turnaround time.
A faulty pair of 'waterproof' boots …
A faulty pair of 'waterproof' boots I've been waiting for two weeks to get a reply about sorting it out. Ive emailed three times and i get no response other than them explaining how busy they are. I've bought many things from this brand and trusted them, the customer service is some of the worst i've ever experienced.
Sold a 6 year old climbing rope instead of a new rope.
Ordered a new rope from the Australia branch of this company as that is where mammut.com directed me. Unfortunately after buying a new climbing rope from there, they sent me a 'new' rope that was actually over 6 years old from manufacture date. This was not a clearance item and was meant to be a new rope. Ropes have limited useful life and are only meant to be stored for 5 years maximum without use. To pass off a 6 year old rope as new is appalling for a safety item we put our life on. Their customer service suggests I return the rope at my cost and they would give me a store credit. Totally unacceptable. I'm a long time buyer of many Mammut ropes but this might be the last if that is how they value customers.
No refund!
I have returned multiple items back to Mammut UK, and I haven’t get refunded for £1500 for over 8 weeks, which is about 2 months! I contacted the customer service every other two days, but got very passive responses that they will forward my cases to relevant department. £1500 is a massive amount! Please avoid purchase anything from this company even though the quality is not bad.
Problems with customer service
I tried to return an item but then the re-sent it to me. So I re-returned it and haven’t heard from them since. It’s been now 5 weeks and services are not responding to my mails anymore. It’s more than two months since I first tried to return the item and I still haven’t gotten my money back.
Value for money
Pricy, but be sure the quality is the best for outdoor equriment
Worst shoes I’ve ever owned – Mammut Ducan II Low GTX (Men, Black)
I regret ever buying these shoes. After a single forest walk, the front of the right shoe got punctured, making the Gore-Tex lining completely useless against rain. I had to tape the shoe with duct tape just to keep going.
It only got worse from there:
• After 700 km of walking, the soles were already heavily worn down.
• After first forest walk there was a puncture that made Gore-Tex useless.
• By 1500 km, the shoes were outright dangerous — I was slipping on most surfaces.
• Shortly after, the sole of the other shoe wore through completely, leaving a hole at the bottom front and destroying the waterproofing on the left shoe as well.
To make matters worse, Mammut’s customer support was slow, unhelpful, and frustrating. It took me 3 months of back-and-forth just to get back 60% of the purchase price.
This was the most expensive pair of shoes I’ve ever bought, and also the worst. They lasted barely 7 months before becoming unusable. For comparison: my old Salomon shoes lasted 6 years and over 5000 km, cost half the price, and are still in better condition today.
Mammut’s quality has become an abomination — worse than Decathlon, despite charging a premium price. Honestly, I don’t think I will ever trust Mammut again. Enshitification at its finest.
Zero customer service & impossibly slow delivery
Love the gear but it's been 13 days since ordering and there's still no sign of my package. It's not even in the same country as me and no one will get back to me
Black spots show through jacket - BEWARE
I bought a £425 Tais pro insulated jacket in red - its lovely and warm and I was pleased until I realised that the fill contains dark feathers that show through the coat as dark spots... similar to oil stains.
Mammut customer service reply is "its a natural product and can not be helped" and "to pull the dark downs into the background"... REALLY?
Apparently the info on dark spots is in the Materials and Care section which obviously we all read before purchasing and excuses the issue for them.
I always thought of Mammut as a quality brand but clearly they do not stand by their items and use the old "responsibly sourced" line!
Guess Ive got a red with black spots jacket now then which will never see the light of day... fantastic!
Poor service for a seemingly high profile brand
Absolutely incredible. I thought of Mammut as high profile - I paid for that. Its service is worse than the cheapest of brands I've used. However, the company is reluctant to replace a battery clip that they mismanufactured on my avalanche beacon (purchased along with 4 full Mammut backpacks incl all necessary avalanche gear). An insanely small fix that can save lives.
I have a large community of skiers and mountaineers and will now recommend everyone to buy other brands - brands that do provide support line most outdoor brands.
Bought the Mammut Kento Advanced High…
Bought the Mammut Kento Advanced High GTX Men. These are supposed to be mountaineering shoes for rocky terrain. Great design and comfortable. I used mine for 15 months on soft forest walks with my dog, before one of the soles started to disintegrate and the front of both boots was so worn that it got holes and that I had wet feet every time. No Waranty because customer service said "they are worn". I'll go back to Lowa, cheaper, much better quality: the lasted pair lasted me 10 years.
The quality of the shoes is a failure
The quality of the shoes is a failure, waiting for a refund for 0 quality shoes for 2 weeks, customer service is total ignorance. Shoes with burnt stains.
Chinese company. Absolutely zero quality shoes. Holes in new shoes.
Completely rubbish.
Liars
Terrible. Purchased a coat in Zermatt Switzerland, did not fit daughter, new with tags. Unable to return in Switzerland because of Christmas Day, then St. Stephen's Day, then departure (even tried at the airport store!). Reached out to US for guidance on returning, even to Switzerland, and I was told (and I quote) “In general, we do not offer returns or exchanges” and they offered me 30% off a future purchase. Their own policy allows returns and exchanges within 30 days. We are within 3 weeks at this point. Insane that they actually lied to me instead of taking 5 minutes to work with me. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. This should be straightforward. They’ve at least lost this family of 5 skiers. Too many other brands to prioritize.
I wish i had read trustpilot before …
I wish i had read trustpilot before placing an order, this might be one of the worst rated companies ive ever used lol. So about Mammut, well what a completely unnecessary display of monumental incompetence and disgraceful customer service. This dire excuse of a company sent my items using GLS and DHL 2 sets of initials that will forever put me off buying from any company that displays them and you should avoid them too. Mammut told me that their shipping had 'accidentally sent my items to spain' instead of the UK (apparently) before returning them back to mammut, mammut also stated that an immediate refund would be made, but days after and no such refund has been made, I asked them to let me know by email once they had made the refund. They then sent another email reply stating they will now only make a refund once they have the items back. Now I understand this is the process on a regular returns policy but when they have shipped the stuff to the wrong country themselves and their shipping agent has already returned the stuff according to mammut, what are these 'people' doing other than adding fuel to their own fire? What are they trying to gain by forcing me to wait until they have concluded their own farce before returning my payment. This is entirely of their own making and it will be interesting to watch this company spiral down the proverbial plughole over the coming months and years. This is definitely a company to avoid, a filthy skidmark of a company you should avoid displaying on your gear. Interesting they decided on using an extinct animal to represent them as they are sure to go the same way eventually. Perhaps sacking the entire UK staff would be a good start and delay the inevitable extinction.
Charlatans
Shameless company , that offers Zero support to Loyal Customers .
When you pay hundreds of UK Pounds for a “Hard Wearing” mountain jacket , that the membrane de-laminates in under 2 years of light use - You know you have been ripped off !
Every effort to communicate with this company results in ”Dead-End” links , false email address , “Customer Services” that do NOT Respond , along with a plethora of returned enquiry forms ( as link does not work).
Avoid this company unless you have a magical access to their customer services .
Or more money than sense .
Sub-Standard workmanship that’s traded as the “best”.

Faulty shoes and poor after service
Have a pair of shoes that started leaking after 10 months. Sent them for repair 25th June. Still waiting to get them back. Emails go unanswered the call centre is able to contact the repair centre or give me a number to ring them myself.
Complete shambles
PFAS in Mammut backpack?
I approached the customer service department, because my backpack was very sticky from the inside. My question was if I could do something about it, because things that are inside the backpack get sticky too. This was the response.
"This is a delamination. The rucksack is already very old and out of warranty. A repair is also not possible.
Please refrain from sending it in."
Because I wanted to know what I could do about it, I send another email. Then this was the response.
"The backpack is more than 10 years old. This was the response from the customer service:
the backpack model was produced until 2009 and is therefore over 14 years old.
This means that the backpack has already reached the end of its service life with normal use. In addition, external influences such as storage, cleaning etc. are also decisive for the preservation of the materials."
I then asked them the following question: "Thank you for your response. The backpack was hardly used, which is why I am surprised by the issue. I understand your explanation, but I still have one question. I wonder what kind of material is used in the backpack and if PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are involved. In case of degradation, I am concerned that it might not be good for my health, as everything placed in the backpack would come into contact with the damaged material. Can you please clarify and let me know if you advise not to use the backpack anymore?"
I am still waiting for an answer to my questions. I am surprised by the apparent lack of focus on sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions. Additionally, my question about whether the Mammut backpack contains PFAS remains unanswered, which I find concerning.
Just like a Chinese scam company
Low-quality products and terrible customer service. I sent my backpack for warranty, and it's been with them for two months. They claimed they had sent it back three weeks ago but could not provide proof of shipment. Now, I need to start a dispute against them because they're unwilling to reimburse me. Luckily, I am a lawyer, so I know exactly what to do and how to get my money back.
The last time I had this experience was when I accidentally purchased from a scam Chinese company.
