New Dyson Battery.

We needed a new battery for a Dyson hand held cleaner but didnt want to buy an origional part due to the cleaners age.
I did some researching and decided on a mid range battery ( as apposed to the cheapest.)
The battery arrived promptly and is working well to date the only slight negative is I believe there us only a six month warrenty, which would be 12 months if fitted by them..
Only time will tell but so far I'm happy.

Excellent service all round

Excellent service all round. I sent my 17 year old Sebo Felix to Manchester Vacs as it wasn't working. They immediately identified the problems, replaced parts as necessary, serviced and sent it back very quickly in full working order. The cost was extremely reasonable. I am a great believer is getting electricals repaired rather than replaced and with machines of such quality and durability as Sebo, this is possible and pleasing thanks to Manchester Vacs

Replacement Sebo

After 20 years of perfect service with no breakdowns my Sebo X1 vacuum cleaner needed replacing. I was uncertain about which Sebo to replace it with so called Manchester Vacs. They confirmed the X7 is the latest version of my old X1 and came in three variations. The person I spoke to went through the three versions very thoroughly, listening to my numerous questions and very patiently explaining the pros and cons of each one. I eventually ordered a Sebo X7 Extra because it fitted my requirements perfectly. It was ordered on 20 August and arrived in perfect condition on 22 August. I am delighted with my purchase and the service I received. I have no hesitation in recommending this company and will certainly use them again.

Fast efficient and fair.

Fast, efficient online ordering. Superfast despatch and delivery to Australia without scalping for postage and packing and only charging the Royal Mail rate. Very impressed. Excellent experience without doubt. Highly recommended.

Reconditioned Sebo X7

We purchased a Reconditioned Sebo Automatic X7 after watching the demonstration on your website. It arrived by Parcelforce as stated and was well packaged in a Sebo vacuum box. It has been reconditioned exactly as described and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your excellent service to anyone.

Be careful of their pricing

Be careful of their pricing, you put the item in the box, go to checkout and there is the price, in my case £33, pay through PayPal, which it then does, then confirmed, only to find the cost is now £40 !!
I think I would describe this as Sharpe practice. So what ever you order does not include postage, but there is nothing to show the postage, this is added after....very naughty

Replacement hose for aged Sebo arrived next day, and then when I couldn’t get the old hose off (sheer incompetence on my part) they offered to do this for me with courtesy and kindness

I've placed several orders with them…

I've placed several orders with them over the last few years. Good informative website, prompt and well packaged deliveries. Competitively priced and have always been able to get the correct parts for my 25yr old Dyson DC04 and my slightly younger Dyson DC07. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

fantastic company
i bought a sebo x7 yesterday and couldn't be more happier.
fantastic cleaner would highly recommend this company i was made to feel welcome as soon as i walked in and was asked if i would like a coffee.
very helpful and friendly people both stuart and olga are such lovely people to do business with. i will be ordering all my spares and bags from this company in the future.

Brilliant service

Brilliant service. Faulty Sebo returned so quickly and a lovely firm to deal with. Claire was especially good in communicating with me. I will definitely use them again.

Refusal to replace defective item

No clear refund policies or customer support information on website. As a result I am stuck with a faulty product.

Update on review/reply to vendor: The insulting reply I received is exactly why no one should use this company.

To ManchesterVacs, Clearly, I did refer to the Terms and Conditions. “Contact Us” is how I contacted you about the defective item. Furthermore, your Terms and conditions DO NOT state your return window (very shady!) nor your exact defective item policy.

As explained to you, my ITEM WAS FITTED BUT NOT USED for vacuuming because it caused howling as soon as the vacuum was switched on. It was removed and refitted with the same result. The item IS still new but defective, which is a different issue and legal responsibility on your part.

A defective product replacement is not a return. You might want to refer to the law on defective products. It is on Gov.uk under accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds.

Second update to review/second vendor reply:

My order was placed on 8/11/24. I contacted you 1/12/24 the same day the item was attempted to be fitted. It was NOT over a month after my order.

Secondly, no offer to replace the faulty item was offered. I had asked for a refund but was told to following:

‘As this item is now used we will not accept a return.

Also the two week return period has noe expired.

We have no trouble at all with these filters.’

That was all the reply I got as far as assistance with a faulty item.

The faulty goods policy states:

“Faulty Goods

21.2 If any Goods you have purchased have faults when they are delivered to you, you should contact Manchester Vacs within a reasonable time to arrange return or replacement. We request that if Goods need to be returned, that they be returned in their original condition with all packaging (where practicable) and any documentation. Where replacement goods are not immediately available from stock, the price of the Goods, as paid by you, will be refunded to you.”

Thank you for the refund provided AFTER I posted my review here. Of note, no further contact nor apology has been made. They state they discovered there was a problem with the item although they did not let me know.

So yes, as stated before, I did read the Ts&Cs and there is no information about returns, only a link marked “Return Policy” which opens a link to a forum-style page where they have again shown Ts&Cs in the first and last post with returns information in between. This page loads slowly so consumers may not see all information initially.

Again, to find this information the customer must scan all Ts&Cs to find the returns link, then scan through more Ts&Cs searching for the relevant information. Why make it so difficult? Make a link on your page menu. Dedicate a page solely for returns and returns/defective goods policies as other websites do.

Respect your customers and learn from them. They keep you in business. There is no place for passive aggressiveness when running a web shop.

I have experience in website building and successful online business. One star reviews are indeed a reflection of the business, not the customer.

This customer contacted us over a month after purchasing a filter, claiming it was faulty and asking for a return. We initially explained that, per our T&Cs, returns are generally not accepted after two weeks, especially as we were unaware of any issues with the filters in question. Unfortunately, we do see some people use “faulty” as a convenient excuse to bypass return windows, so we’re always cautious with such claims.

That said, upon further investigation the next day, we discovered there was an issue with the filters—something even we hadn’t been aware of. We immediately flagged this to the manufacturer and have since sourced the filters elsewhere. The customer was refunded in full without delay.

As for her assertion that our return policy isn’t displayed anywhere, this is simply incorrect. Our T&Cs, including Section 10.3 detailing our return policy, are linked at the bottom of every page on our site and at checkout. In fact, customers are required to tick a box confirming they’ve read them before completing their purchase. Whether they choose to actually read them, of course, is another matter.

This one-star review was left before we had a chance to investigate or resolve the issue—a little quick on the trigger, wouldn’t you say? While we strive to resolve issues as swiftly as possible, we’d suggest a touch more patience next time before rushing to leave negative feedback.

Furthermore, we don’t require business advice from this individual. Our seven-figure turnover and status as the largest specialist of our kind in the North speak for themselves.

rude customer service - avoid

edit after your update (making it worse) - i sent you the details but not my phone number so you wouldn’t spam me - i bought a ‘genuine’ dyson battery from your ebay store which failed after 14 months (original lasted 6 years) - I asked if you could do anything as it was 2/3rds the price of one from dyson and was told by ‘claire’ if i wanted a genuine battery to go to dyson - all I wanted was ‘ah that’s unlucky have a tenner off another one but no, was told to do one - nice - needless to say I rate your service 0’and feel fleeced by your rubbish batteries - ebay order 07-10542-95842

When asked, "Ade" with his single, solitary review refused to offer any invoice number or checkable details.

However, we were selling some genuine batteries on eBay at less than half of Dyson's price. When you pay less than half price on a third-party clearance platform, you don't get extended guarantees. If you want a manufacturer guarantee, you pay full retail price from Dyson direct. You can't have it both ways.

But here's the best bit: This bloke tells us above (unless he edits it again), that he bought this battery 14 months ago. Even Dyson only offer a 12-month warranty on a battery, so he would be ineligible for warranty now wherever he had bought it from.

So it seems (from what he tells us above - unless he edits it again) he was actually hoping to have a discount off another half-price item, for something that was long out of warranty anyway.

This complaint is groundless, but the context allows the passing reader to see that some of these keyboard warriors plaster one-star reviews all over the internet without justification. Simply because they didn't get their own way.

Excellent service

Very pleasantly surprised to find Manchester Vacs also provide a free return service for the old faulty component for correct recycling - highly commendable.

Ordered a Sebo D9

Ordered a Sebo D9. The price was good, and it was delivered the next day. We decided on the D9 as it's very similar to the D4, but cheaper because the warranty is 1 year not 5. The price was the best we could find online. This is our first cylinder vacuum and it's great - particularly like the switches on the handle, which save bending down (power level, and raising/lowering the carpet brush). Nearly filled the 6 litre bag already - our labrador sheds a lot!

Great recycled Dyson motor

I ordered a recycled motor for my parents Dyson DC01. It arrived two days after ordering. I got it fitted in about 5 minutes and it works perfectly. Fantastic to be able to repair a machine destined for the tip and save my parents some money along the way. Thanks for your excellent service Manchester Vacs.

Great service and pricing!

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and the lady couldn’t have been more helpful. having had two Sebo’s before, we roughly knew what we wanted, but she explained the differences between vacs and left us to ‘test drive’ them, not pushy at all and really helpful. Great pricing and had everything in stock, threw in a brush attachment too. We would definitely recommend and will return if we need any accessories etc.

Best vacuum cleaner stockist in the Manchester area .

We had been disappointed by the poor quality of vacuum cleaners at the large outlets . We were keen to see the Sebo range which had very good reviews . Only one large retail company offered Sebo , not on display , the staff had no knowledge of its features and an order would have to be placed blind . Fortunately we found Manchester Vacs who offer the range and all on display. We called in and were helped by Clare who was excellent ; knowledgable of the product and very friendly to deal with . We were able to try the models and chose the Sebo Automatic X7 pet e Power , in stock . It is well constructed , quality , and well designed . We are very pleased with our purchase and would not hesitate to recommend a visit to Manchester Vacs .
