Excellent company

Excellent company. Repaired my Sebo vac at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one. Fast efficient service and great communications. Sent them my vac 19th Aug, got it back good as new 26th Aug. Really can't recommend this company highly enough,

A proper shop, run by proper people

I recently visited Manchester Vacs after stumbling across their website online and realising they were local to me.

Earlier in the day I had been looking at a Sebo X7 priced at £384.90 in John Lewis, Cheadle. After a quick price check online I found that Manchester Vacs had the next model up, the X7 Extra, for £327.99! That's £56.91 less for a better model, it had to be worth a visit. Just for full info purposes that same model is priced at £439.90 in John Lewis!

I drove up there, explained what I had seen and what I was looking for and they were quite simply fantastic! They explained that they're Sebo representatives and that basically they sell more so can sell for less.

It went beyond price for me though, it was the service on the day that would keep me going back. They gave me a full run-down of how everything worked, some background to the brand and they even set it all up and loaded it in the car. They talked me through how to use all the attachments properly, how to carry it and how to correctly maintain it. They're clearly experts in their field who care about what they do and how they sell it.

I'm a big advocate for supporting local and independent businesses and this is definitely one that you should visit if you're in the market for anything Vac related, they sell it all (including a genuine 70s/80s Ewbank which I'm going back for on Thursday).

Shop here, you won't be disappointed.

Dyson DC-01 replacement rear hose

Ordered replacement rear hose for 20+ year-old Dyson DC-01 after third-party hose (ordered from different supplier) failed after just 12 months. Replacement from Manchester Vacs is recycled genuine part which arrived promptly, fitted easily, and seems far superior. Fingers crossed for a few more years on this old Dyson!

Excellent shop highly recommend

Excellent shop highly recommend. Second time using them best service around. Bought a belt for my hoover got it home to realise that wasn’t the problem. Called them & they said to bring the hoover down. Told me the roller had gone & although they don’t stick for my model anymore they found me a spare they had. Fitted me a new roller & belt within minutes. Can’t fault them friendly staff excellent service.

Dyson hair dryer

Wow, what a genuine great couple work here. I thought my hair dryer was broken as it kept cutting out. These dryers have common power lead problems. It turned out my dryer was working OK and that the error could be how I was holding it (over the filter area). They checked it over for me and never charged me a penny. Thank you for being so genuine and honest. Washed and blown my hair this evening with no problem! Thanks again guys. Customer care is amazing!!

SEBO part that doesn’t fit. TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT.

I’ve given two stars because they were quick with my order. I’ve only given two stars because when I politely but quite formally attempted to open a dialogue I was accused of making threats and told to engage like a normal person or go right ahead and resort to trustpilot. My call, apparently. Perhaps by normal person they mean ‘obsequious and weak’.
The part they sold me (Extension Hose. 1495ER) does not fit with known GENUINE SEBO accessories. I cannot say the part supplied is not genuine but I’d be very surprised to learn that SEBO quality control had slipped to such an extent.
To be supplied with a SEBO (?) accessory that simply does not fit is likely to irritate a customer, being treated like an aggressor merely for being assertive is shocking. I didn’t ‘threaten’ to go to trustpilot rather I pointed out that I’d approached them first. My mistake was to expect respect, perhaps. Some think respect can be demanded. Respect can be commanded. What’s the difference… respect.

I have the hose. It does not fit. Are they trying to impugn the honesty of a paying customer? If so that fits with the general pattern of their behaviour, I feel.

Anyway, here’s a copy of my original email (see below) so folks can make their own mind up. I’d like to point out that I put a question mark on ‘bogus’ and that in this day and age of counterfeit goods it could conceivably be further up the supply chain that the defective goods were introduced. I realise that pointing out that it may not be their fault might seem helpful to them but I am a reasonable and, I like to think, decent human being.

SEBO part defective/bogus…? Extension Hose 1495ER. Order ID 19067.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you as the part you supplied appears to be either defective or, simply, not a genuine SEBO part.

I am writing to you before resorting to trustpilot or contacting SEBO directly so that you might have the opportunity to help me rectify this situation.

The hose was bought by me as part of a larger order (see above). The part was bought by me but as a Christmas present, for my mother in law, to give to me. In the same order I bought a service box for her machine (that she bought after I recommended it). I had been hoping to get a hose for her as well but am now very glad I bought her the brush attachment!

So the part, having been a Christmas present has remained unused until now. I have, now, tried to use the hose but have found that the HARD PLASTIC union is TOO SMALL. It DOES NOT FIT standard genuine SEBO attachments. It goes in, all the way it can, without any binding friction whatsoever. It’s too small. All my SEBO parts and accessories are interchangeable as they should be. I have a wall/floor brush, two small brushes, a straight extension tube, etc.

I realise that some time has passed since I placed the order but this is quite normal at Christmas, isn’t it. I hope you will be so kind as to address this issue and kindly supply me with a genuine SEBO flexible hose. I can hardly continue to recommend yourselves or indeed SEBO as is.

This chap ordered on the 18th November. He emailed us on the 10th January almost TWO MONTHS later to allege that the hose he bought didnt fit a tool he had.

In the title line of his email was the word "bogus" and in his opening salvo he announced "I am writing to you before resorting to trustpilot".

We don't respond to threats or microaggression. So we offered him a choice: would you rather go right ahead and "resort to Trustpilot" or engage with us like a normal person?

Had he chose the latter, we would have solved his problem. However, he chose the former as we see here.

5 stars great product fast delivery great price

Bought a sebo e3 premium vaccum cleaner as a replacement for my miele revolution 5000 as that lasted me 16 years.
Wanted the sebo with the powered et1 floorhead, really impressed with the quality and care of the vaccum cleaner. I already have a sebo x4 pet and they easy to maintain.
Manchester vacs great price and fast delivery 5 stars all round, would highly recommend them.

Manchestervac - Fabulous

Claire and the team were fantastic so helpful and knowledgeable about Sebo Vacuum cleaners.

Sebo XP10

Just bought a sebo XP10 it has good suction also great for picking up pet hair. It’s also light weight for a commercial machine, and also excellent customer service as always.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service , fixed a snapped belt on my Sebo while I waited.
Very knowledgeable and stock everything you could need. Having a shop like this means you can keep a quality vacuum cleaner running rather than buying a new one , very welcome in this disposable age.

I would strongly recommend anyone not to buy any goods from Manchester Vac's

I would strongly recommend anyone not to buy any thing from Manchester Vac's!
Their so called customer service is absolutely diabolical, I brought an item a few months ago, it developed a fault and I wanted simply to talk through with someone about that Item and if there was anything that could be done.
I called their phone number a multiple number of times at all times of the day only to be greeted with an automated voice mail service each and every time. Firstly from their message service it's clear that they as a company don't want to deal with customers direct, If you listen to all the options they give, they give every excuse to go to this page on their web site and only as the very last result, they say to leave your name and number for a member of staff to call you back.
I left my name and number along with the reason why I just wanted to speak with them, needless to say 24 hours later no one had called me back and they clearly had just ignored my message, so I left a second voice mail, again 48 hours later still no one had bothered to call me back whatsoever.
I therefore tried calling them a third time, again got through to their message service yet again and this time I Emailed them saying how disappointed I was with their customer service after leaving two voice mails over a long period of time and that no one had returned my call and that I had now had to order a new part yet again.
Well the response from my Email shocked me. Clair of Manchester Vac's simply replied to my Email, with NO apology whatsoever, but simply with the message "we are busy" and that was it!!!
Claire then picked up on the Email where I had said I had to order a new part, and she then sent me a second Email a few seconds later following her first Email to say and I quote:
"As you are disappointed with our service I have cancelled your order and will refund your card"
So there we are Clair clearly dose not know anything about customer service, she believes she can dictate to the customer and not issue any apologies and therefore if Manchester Vac's sends you a faulty part and you want to complain or just discuss the issue in hand they DON'T WANT TO KNOW AND WILL TELL YOU SO!!
It's sad when Manchester Vac's treats their customers like this, it's very sad she has let her company down

This gentleman bought a circa £16 hose sometime last year. A hose is a consumable item and its longevity is entirely dependent on usage.

This gentleman seemed to feel a consumable item at such a low price point should have a lifetime guarantee. And he apparantly was hoping for multiple long and protracted telephone calls on the subject of how he thinks things should be.

This gentleman thinks it odd that a business that does 90% of its business online might direct queries to their website where most questions people telephone with are already answered (including the one this gentleman had). And for those that aren't, one then sends an email in order that the right person gives the right answer. ​

We get hundreds of telephone calls a day, so yes, you will often get voicemail directing you to the websites when we are busy. In 2021, the telephone is a time-consuming, expensive and inefficient way to deal with enquiries for a busy business. Why we have a large and comprehensive website where most queries are answered already. If not, send an email.

By the time this gentleman had grasped the concept of sending an email, it was militant and demanding and it was clear all he wanted to do was rant to somebody on the phone.

Our customer service is apparently so 'bad' that he then chose to order a second hose from our site. As this would no doubt generate another flurry of demands for personal telephone consultations in the future, and due to the tone of his multiple messages and emails, we chose to decline his order and refunded him. And he doesn't like that either.

This gentleman can shop elsewhere in the future.

Motor caught fire!

Update....... I did write to them in the first instance and have proof of that!!! Due to no response, I persued through PayPal..... PayPal can verify that themselves as can I.....

Had a genuine Dyson motor supplied and lasted less than 3 months. Motor caught fire.!!!!!!Wrote to company on website but no reply received!!!!! Contacted PayPal to make them reply. When they did, they refused to honour a warranty on a genuine Dyson part or even be prepared to look at the motor. Lost my money!
Would not recommend

Motors are not guaranteed unless we fit them as we cannot ascertain the expertise of the fitter, know if fresh filters were used or see the usage environment. This is in our T&Cs in black and white which he ticked to agree with during checkout.

This chap didn't email us first at all, he chose to open a payment dispute three months later - which he then lost. He lost his dispute because his claim was invalid.

Had he contacted us in a reasonable manner, we may have sent him a used and tested one out as a gesture of goodwill. As he chose to use a payment dispute instead of customer service, and then to spill his angst on here when he lost that, we'll not be doing that now.

Rapid delivery, extra care went into the packaging, my Dyson was in mint condition I'm well happy! Got nothing negative to say at all, buy your vacuums here!! Support a local British family business rather than filling the pockets of the billionaire manufacturers

A repeat customer...

I have purchased several SEBO vacuum cleaners from Manchester Vacs over the years and have been extremely happy with their service each and every time. Delivery is by next day DPD and you are given an time slot when to expect delivery...Bonus!!. Manchester Vacs are also very competitive on price and in most instances I have found the model I’m after to be much cheaper from Manchester Vacs.

Terrible company to deal with AVOID

Terrible company to deal with. Getting a contact is very difficult. When I did speak to Claire I could hear the boss "F" at me in the background.

I ordered and paid for an XP30. They shipped an XP20.
They did not answer the phone so I raised a dispute with paypal.
They responded saying I should remove the dispute.
They offered to ship a new motor unit for me to swap out which is a strange resolution, rather than simply return the XP20 and ship a new XP30. They have now said they'll collect the XP20 and cancel the order. THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This person "Nigel" decided to use a third party dispute resolution service instead of customer service for what was a very simple and easily corrected shipping error. It would have been a quick and efficient matter to send us an email and have the differing part of the unit exchanged the next day.

Instead, this person initiates a chargeback and wants to dictate our terms of service for us by telling us how it should be dealt with.

Our terms of service are very simple: If you decide to use chargeback or third party resolution services instead of customer service, we wont be supplying you anything. Accordingly, we have arranged the item be collected from this customer, we will then refund it and we wont be providing him with a replacement.

Nigel is now triggered he didn't get his own way and wants to plaster one star reviews everywhere. Go and chargeback on someone else next time, Nigel. We will be supplying you with nothing further.
