It was a refreshing change to deal with a company that was so helpful and prompt at fixing a problem that wasn’t of their making.
My Mate X was delivered with a fault on the screen/wiring/motor, this had happened in transit and was an unusual problem which had not occurred previously with one of their product’s. Within 48 hours of informing the company the problem was rectified by a visit to my house (which is a good four hour drive from London) by two extremely helpful guys who really knew their stuff who sorted the problem. This saved me having to send the bike back during this busy period and all the hassle that would include.
I would not hesitate to recommend this company and I shall be using them for any bikes or accessories that I purchase in the future.
A huge thank you to Andrew and the guys for going above and beyond.

I have had a running saga for over 6 mths with MATE global HQ in Denmark regarding a missing bike delivery. As a first round investor, i purchased two of the original top spec bikes. They have been distant and unhelpful, suggesting I report the bike as stolen rather than admitting the fact that it was never delivered.
I then contacted MATE uk about this issue, which was really nothing to do with them, and they pursued the case on my behalf, kept me up to date with all discussions and eventually made the decision to honour the order out of their own stock. This was an outstanding gesture and I can only hope that MATE Denmark recognise that their UK agent has saved their bacon....A brand that is so good on social media better have the customer service to back up the slick campaigns, otherwise the same social media platform will be swamped with complaints, and the brand will suffer. I understand that there have been many problems with deliveries from MATE Denmark ...as a start up the supporters/ investors should expect some glitches ...but what should not be under par is the personal human service. Perhaps the global HQ could take some points from their UK Agents. Thank you again Andrew and Harris.

I’ve had a Mate X for a few months now and it’s been my favorite means of transportation. Super convenient and efficient! This electric bike is hands down the best one. P.S. Love the thumb throttle and the fact that it’s foldable!

Mate X is a pretty well designed, well made & a well marketed mid-range, mid priced Ebike. So, an equally good UK distribution/sales & support network is a must.
Good luck to Matebike UK as they develop this business (and a new showroom) in their awesome, historic warehouse in Woolwich.
Once you’ve found it, there’s space there to properly test ride, select and build your new Mate X ; a good way to begin to appreciate and know what you’ve let yourself in for. Because this ebike is a heavy ‘workhorse’. Even with everything else you own on its generous rear carrier it still remains foldable and balanced. But whether you can lift it, at 30kgs + depends on you and maybe some help from a nearby crane. Nor is the ride for the faint hearted ; yes, there’s speed, there’s style, and there’s stability, on the flat. But cornering and speed bumps are a knack, once you’ve secured the wobbly fenders and swopped the knobbly tyres for decent roadsters. (Matebike UK stock v.good Vee Rubbers).
So, as with everything, there’s room for improvement. But, to date, Mate X is working fine for me. The real test will be across this winter and in the wet. Please, no rain in the electrics !
I’m confident though, and with regular maintenance and plenty of proper pedalling, I don’t predict I’ll be calling on the 2 year warranty. If I do, I look forward to being back in Woolwich again. For I have a good feeling that Matebike UK would sort it, whatever it was, as soon as.

After a LOT of research, I went to see the guys at Mate UK for a test ride. They were super helpful and I really liked the bike so took one home to self assemble. The assembly was pretty easy and the video tutorial was useful. I did need to take it to a local shop to tune the gears and brakes so maybe the assembly service would have been a better option.
I have been really pleased with the bike so far, its great to ride and the battery life is more than i need (i have the 250w model).
Definitely recommend this - for the price it is competitive to what else is out there, it looks great and the service from Mate UK has been terrific.
In March 2019 I pressed the pay button on the Mate X indegogo campaign. I went through 12 months of waiting, sending emails more waiting and then in March 2020 during all the international Covid Caos My Mate arrived.
From the 1st time I took it out on the road up until this day I can honestly say that this is the best Product I've ever spent my money on. Happy is an understatement. I find it amazing how people who are sitting in flashy sports cars are looking at the mate x and saying wow , lol 😆 . My only complaint is that I didnt invest in the 750w 😅🤣
So had my mate x since November 2019 and the battery connection was loose from day one . Eventually and after 2500 km it melted in the charger making powered bike riding impossible . I went on line filled in forms and waited patiently , sent the odd email just checking on spare parts and warranty claim. Then I found on line a phone number to U.K. headquarters , I phoned them and bingo new part sent and now fitted. With a new charger and battery I am away again to enjoy this terrific bike. Mate x is the future of personal transport and now with the U.K. office meeting the requirements that is excellent customer service . I recently received my Mate Bike and I am over the moon. It’s a fantastic bike and is so much better than driving into work everyday.
Special mention to the entire team, especially Harris who has been amazing. All my questions were answered via WhatsApp and over the phone incredibly quickly and he gave me great advise on what to go for. A test ride was easy to set up and once I had ordered the bike it came quicker than expected.
I would highly recommend a Mate Bike and specifically getting it from these guys.
This is my first experience with electric bikes and I am overjoyed with my new MATE.X bike.HARRIS has been a joy purchase my bike from he has treated me brilliantly and has made good his word at every step, if you want a bike ask for Harris and I doubt you will be disappointed by the customer care and bike you receive. Absolutely superb service, had a problem with the first bike and they personally delivered a new bike to us. Excellent and would definitely buy again, Harri was great.
Had few issues get a warranty claim with main MATE HQ in Denmark. I contacted Mate bike UK and they could not have done more to sort out the issues super fast and get me a new charger.
Looking forward to having local UK support for my MATE bike. Thank you Harris and team and let me know when those new V tyres are coming in and I'll grab a set.
