John Gilham is trying to kill me

I am a disabled person who has been left with draughty windows and doors and I am now out of pocket because of John Nicholas Gilham, the CEO of this company.

Plaster has been gauged out of my walls, the window frames are overly large to hide damaged they did to the wall, the rendering to the outside of the property was damaged and there are permanent stains on the carpet. The door lets in all the sound and cold air. I have to pay to fix all this! As a disabled person!

I kept contacting John, asking him to fix the door. He ignores me. Over one year on and I have cold air and excess sound entering my property which is exactly the issue I was trying to remedy by having the windows changed. One installer even told me to put weather tape over the gap and hang heavy curtains to block out the cold breeze! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS FOR NEW WINDOWS!

There is also MOLD GROWING around the door.

As a disabled person who needs to be in a warm, quiet environment, this company has caused me no end of stress and ill-health and will probably kill me.

I have been left out of pocket due to having to pay to have the rendering fixed, the carpets cleaned and having to have the central heating on almost 24/7.

I complained to John Nicholas Gilham the CEO. He ignores me. I tried to use the warranty, but John Nicholas Gilham would not repair the door under the warranty, despite his contractors admitting fault. He just ignores all correspondence.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AND IF YOU SEE JOHN NICHOLAS GILHAM, TELL HIM HE OWES ME MONEY AND AN APOLOGY.

Anybody know how to get John Gilham to…

Anybody know how to get John Gilham to return a phone call or an email. His company has Taken 50 percent deposit for a door on 4th June and the man just doesn’t return phone calls or emails. Please could anybody tell me what next steps I can take!!!!!!

I rang in a panic today at both offices because my front door would not shut and I needed to go out. I needed advice. It is now evening and nobody has got back to me. Dreadful customer after service.

WARNING buyers beware

WARNING buyers beware. do not purchase any double glazing or doors from MrJohn Gilham. We paid a deposit in June and not heard anything since. We have emailed and called the office numerous times but with no reply about our order.We have been advised to report this as a scam and will be following the letter of the law to get our deposit back.

WARNING DONT USE THIS COMPANY I have had all my windows and doors replaced by this company, all was good but recently I had a survey done on my home and they discovered two windows are the wrong way around so they will be letting the heat escape in the winter, I have called leaving messages and no one can be bothered to call back so if u have a problem all I can say is good luck

Really unhappy

Really unhappy, they supposed to change my glass in bathroom as it was sent wrong and since 5 weeks nothing change. Do not pay them till everything is done, we was too good thinking they will do it anyway but now ..... as well the sealing person show different windows hinges to the one we got it.

I am sick and tired of asking for a key…

I am sick and tired of asking for a key for the bedroom window that this company installed for us. I HATE being ignored, I spoke to someone on Friday and told them if I don’t get a call back from them then I will leave a bad review!
This company takes your money and runs…. No after care what so ever… avoid like the plague and go with a reputable firm. You have all been warned … I wish I had.
An absolute waste of space company who I wouldn’t touch EVER again and as for the woman Bonnie ‘ oh dear, customer service costs nothing.
And passing the message on and getting your ‘director ‘ to call me costs nothing either…

Installation all good but follow up for…

Installation all good but follow up for maintenance doesn’t seem to be so good. I have an issue with my front door less than a year after they installed it. I have left 8 messages with call teams in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells but no response yet to resolve my issue. Stuck at home. Cannot leave my house in half term with two kids!

Impressive service

I was so impressed with the service from Mayfair Installations, from beginning to end! Friendly, helpful and efficient. I am thrilled with the finished result - a draft free installation to my exact specification, replacing an ill-fitting Edwardian back door. I am almost looking forward to the cold weather now! And the clear up after was great. I thoroughly recommend.

Window installation

Today we had our windows fitted by Robin and Ryan, they did an amazing job! They were very quick and effective, taking less than a day to fit our windows. Everything was left clean and tidy, they were polite and very knowledgeable!

We would definitely recommend Mayfair to our friends and family, their quote was competitive and the windows are great quality.

But again for us, the 5 star review was definitely well earned by fitting team! Thanks so much Robin and Ryan!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I responded to an ad I saw on Instagram which offered money off window installations as part of the government window recycling scheme. I should have known better than to opt for any scheme run by the government - that was my first mistake.

My second and biggest mistake was opting to go with Mayfair Installations as my window installers.

I should have known when the salesman, who visited my property to "measure up", was CAUGHT SNOOPING in a room which had the door closed and I told him there was no window in there. He later mentioned some collectable items I had in there which he would only have known about if he went where I told him not to go!

The first lot of installers left the job unfinished, rushing off on a Friday evening with a promise to return the following day. The following day I received a call to say their van was not working.

Weeks went by with cold air coming into my property.
The second lot of installers were visibly and audibly shocked at the state my house had been left in by the first lot of installers. Plaster had been gauged out of the walls, the window frames had not been filled with foam, the window sills had not been cut to the correct size and were uneven, there were no end caps, the rendering to the outside of the property was damaged and there were permanent stains on the carpet.
They patched up the job as best they could, but we had to have a very large frame put on one of the windows to cover the damage done to the surrounding brick work. It does not match the other windows, it looks unsightly!
Bathroom window had to be changed as they had ordered the wrong glass.
They had to visit the property several times to fix the numerous issues.

Almost one year on and after having more than eight 'experts' visit the property, including the CEO, I still have cold air and excess sound entering my property which is exactly the issue I was trying to remedy by having the windows changed. One installer even told me to put weather tape over the gap and hang heavy curtains to block out the cold breeze! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS FOR NEW WINDOWS!

There is also MOLD GROWING around the door.

As a disabled person who needs to be in a warm, quiet environment, this company has caused me no end of stress and ill-health.

They ignore emails, rarely answer the phone and hang up the phone when they dont know the answer to questions.

I have been left out of pocket due to having to pay to have the rendering fixed, the carpets cleaned and having to have the central heating on almost 24/7. I will probably have to pay another company to change the door that Mayfair Installations installed which is letting in air, as they have ignored the last 5 emails I have sent them. They have not even sent me the IBG despite me asking about 10 times.

Please also note that the windows are A+ UNTIL THEY HAVE TRICKLE VENTS INSERTED. They are then no longer A+ windows.

AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Avoid this company at all costs.
Door and frame damaged. We overhead the fitters trying to hide with patch up materials. When I came out to inspect and point out the damage I could hear them saying “oh no she can see it “. Then to be told “ the product comes like that” … really ! We had agreement and paid for from sales and surveyor our request for the new Yale coded locks which comes with x3 keys plus a further x3 blank keys which we would organise to cut.

Original salespeople have left, so there’s no answer there. one of the office staff we now have a rejected email from and the other lady never responds to our requests

Someone came out to inspect over 2 weeks ago now and despite chasing for an update an action plan we’ve heard nothing.

Please don’t bother with this firm. I shall also update this comment on Trustpilot. Absolutely appalling!!! Some photos not all

Excellent

This is a great company who I would recommend a hundred times over!

From start to finish it has been a consistent positive, honest and personable experience, from the director John, to the experienced fitters Robin and Ryan, who were respectful, took pride in their work, which reflected in the top quality of their craftsmanship.

The quote was competitive minimal disruption, everything left clean and tidy.

I am delighted with my new front door and will definitely be using Mayfair Installations in the future thank you!

we had 17 windows and 2 doors replaced

we had 17 windows and 2 doors replaced, they were fitted by two fitters, they were fantastic, left every thing clear and clean, can not fault their work in any way.
the windows we can not fault in any way they are with out any doubt the best we have ever had, the locks are the best, if ever i need any doors or windows Mayfair Installations is the only firm i would ever use, they are the BEST.
