Still ignoring emails and phone engaged. Want my phone returned or money paying. DO NOT USE. ABSOLUTE SCAM

I left a very bad review some days ago, largely off the back of not being able to get in touch with them (by phone or email) and seeing the spate of bad reviews they had over the last week or so, it lead me to think they must be a scam.
I then came across a separate number for them (if you google their shop and see photos, one of them will be their contact number). I got through each time I rang that, and was pleasantly dealt with. They told me they are not receiving emails. Given that they promised to return my phone (which they paid for... thank you) which I received the following day, I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. The only bad thing I can accuse them of is being rubbish at replying/receiving messages. So scam? Probably not. Bad business practice? Probably yes.

Sent my phone a week ago and next day messaged me to say phone was scratched and dented
I promise you it was in mint condition asked for photos fir proof
Eventually accepted lower price becss as use of the hassle
But no money and not answering any of my emails
Totally gutted that they can do this to people my trade in number is 3168408

I sent my phone to this Company on 25/11 tracked and they confirmed receipt next day 26/11. Took up their offer of £30 for my old phone and was promised payment next day. All went quiet and I couldnt contact as their Phone line was dead and they didn’t reply to any emails. 3rd December I managed to find another number 020 8354 7541 for a sister business and spoke to someone who said my technician was not in that day. Promised a call back but none came. I rang again 4th December and spoke with the technician. Apparently my phone had scratches and other unsubstantiated issues. I had the phone in a cover and used a screen protector from new so was not damaged in my view. They reduced their offer by £5. Either I accept or pay £3 to have the phone returned. I reluctantly accepted to get sorted. The money has now been paid. They are blaming Covid for staff shortages. Maybe, but they give the impression of a very unprofessional outfit, and based on other reviews, appear to offer the best price on Compare and Recycle then reduce the offer once have the phone. The emails all seem pre formatted. Communication is very poor. Unless you want hassle, I would suggest you avoid.

They received my phone today and payment arrived in my account by 9.30pm

What have I done. Sent phone off perfect working condition they received and said battery no good so reduced price I accepted that and that’s the last I’ve heard ringing numbers and emails but to no avail new I should have used my usual company. Loosing respect for people and will end up not trusting anyone. Just stay clear of these crooks

Sceptical in the beginning reading some of the reviews but service was completely opposite.
Everything was very easy and before you know it money in the account.

If I could give 0 star I would, sent my phone weeks ago, no confirmation of arrival, no money, not answering calls or emails. Clearly a fake company, will be reporting to trading standards

They recieved my phone, gave me a lowered price. Said my payment had been processed. It hasnt!!! Now wont reply to emails. Have i just been ripped off???

Scammer - Do not use.
You will send your phone and once they have it you'll be offered a lower value and then never hear from them again. Absolutely criminal behaviour.

Wonder how many people this company has stolen from now.

I'm still waiting for the money/my phone and an email reply. Don't bother calling, the phone line doesn't work.

Fast and easy transaction, would use again

I sent my phone aweek ago, I rang them saying sent to the payments department and should be within thee hr nothing, rang again next day for them to say theyl ring me back in 15mins nothing, so iv been ringing back and now no answer for 3 days also sent emails and nothing back, Not happy,,, hi mc recycle asked me for my order number but do not av one, so is my postcode any good DN31 2JZ

Post office tracking showed they received my phone on the 2nd of November, after numerous phone calls and emails I eventually was offered a reduced price that I reluctantly accepted. Every time I called I was fobbed off with “it has been sent to the payment department” I finally received the payment on the 18th. Over two weeks later!!!!!! I chose this company from a comparison site because they offered the best price, however, after the reduced the price and all the hassle I would suggest using some one else like Music Magpie. Never again.

Could not recommend at all. Reduced the price then did not pay for over a week, no response to email or phone, so I contacted comparison site who helped. Very poor service.

Not a brilliant experience at all I'm afraid. I accepted the revised quote the company provided nearly a week ago. Their website boasts SAME DAY PAYMENT! However, six days later there was still no sign of the money in my account despite emails over the last two days assuring me my case had been forwarded to the 'payment department' (If you look on Google maps this address appears to be a mobile phone and vape shop so I'm not sure where their payment department is situated) Anyway this morning I tried telephoning. My phone rang on 10 times without anyone answering but I guess eventually my persistence paid off. I spoke to a man who again said he'd forward my case to the payments department. Lo and behold, when I checked my account at the end of the call the payment had been made so at least there is a positive resolution. I'm not sure money would have forthcoming had I not been so persistent though. I think in future I'd use a better known name, even if the offer price is lower.

MC Recycle sent out packaging swiftly and kept me up to date with receiving my device and agreed to uphold the price agreement. However it took 4 phone calls and 5 emails in the course of 4 days to receive payment.
I wasn't given a reason for the delay. The employee on the phone however was very courteous and did the best he could to reassure me. I would suggest anyone still awaiting payment from this company to continually ring them.
Because of the hassle with multiple phone calls I would only use this company again as a last resort.
