Matt has been our first experience of working with an architect; he has held our hand throughout the whole process answering our endless questions in a timely manner and supporting us to make the right decisions for our family and property. We made several changes to our plans and one major subject to planning which Matt dealt with on the day swiftly and efficiently to prevent further delay. We couldn’t have asked for more and are thrilled with our final plans. Our build has now started and we are very grateful to Matt for getting us over the finish line.

Matt has been brilliant in helping us work out what we wanted from our rear extension. He suggested a layout we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves and was quick and efficient at getting drawings back to us. Matt has been really patient and quick to respond to our (many!) questions and has handled all admin for our permitted development, making the process stress free. We recently used Matt to design and plan a family extension to our bungalow. Matt understood our requirements instantly and was great in putting them into a design. Matt thought over and above, in terms of design, and added some great features that we didn’t initially think of. Matt has been easy to contact, transparent and accommodating through the whole end to end process and we have already recommended his services to many friends.

We came across MDT plans around 13 years ago when we looked after carpentry packages for a local developer. As a construction company, clarity and transparency is crucial when helping to create clients visions for their projects and MDT plans offer these in abundance. Matt and his team along with his associates and other professionals they collaborate with are always on hand to explain and detail any challenging aspects of the build, and offer support and inspiration when designing options for clients projects. I have personally used MDT design on my own properties and Matt is the 1st recommendation i give when new clients need architectural and planning services.

Matt from MDT, designed my 2 bed bungalow into a modest 4 bed with 3 bathrooms.
After the council refused planning via my first Architect, I passed this project on to MDT and they were able to have the planning approved, along with an increase on the size property, which was fantastic.

Matt helped us with the process of our ground floor extension, listened to our list of ideas of what we would like and then came up with the design which we are really pleased with, then assisted us thru the planning and structural engineer process and recommend trusted builders, made it very easy for us, would highly recommend his services.

It’s not often I write reviews but Matt at MDT deserves the public accolade! He came highly recommended by several friends who have also used him.
His first visit is free & he gave us soo many ideas & was patient & continually helped us evolve what we wanted. When we finally instructed him the survey was quick & effective. We had plans within a few weeks & he helped us tweak them to make them perfect & unique to us. He dealt with the whole planning process keeping us informed along the way. thankfully it all went smoothly thanks to the advice he gave us. He then did our build reg drawings & liaised with the structural engineer. He even recommended us several builders, one of which we used. The builders have just finished and our house is now AMAZING! It is perfect for us & our growing family who now get to enjoy their first Christmas in it.

Matt has been fantastic from the outset from listening to our brief and bringing our visions to life. He is always willing to listen to the clients ‘visions’ amd be honest in what can and can’t be done. Matt has taken the time to amend a couple of bits on the drawings that we decided to change and not had any issues with this. Matt has designed so many houses and extensions around the community I live in and he is highly recommended by everyone that has used him locally. Highly recommended :)

We have been threatened with court action twice by Matt Tate. The first when it was apparent that the design wasn’t going to work and we tried to resolve it and the second when I left an honest review (this is an amended version). I was a Senior Design Engineer in the Aerospace industry prior to my current role as a Surveyor. I understand the design process and what information should be contained in a drawing. The materials are different but the principles are the same. Unlike Matt Tate I do not believe the courtroom is the place to resolve disagreements and paid in full (£2000) just to get this man out of our lives. 8 months later and we cannot build his design because it does not satisfy the requirements of building regulations. Please heed the negative reviews, we wish we had. I have never before met such a frustrating and unreasonable man. I cannot convey how stressful this has been.

The service i have received from MDT has been professional at all times and cannot fault the service, I have used this company many times now and will never go elsewhere even when it gets tricky as planning does Matt has always been in touch kept me well informed and dealt with everything 5 stars all the way.

We used Matt at MDT for the drawings of our single-storey rear extension. He was reliable and very responsive to our needs, making alterations where necessary and my endless questions. He also put us in touch with companies for the structural & energy calculations and dealt with the council with regards to planning taking some of the stress away from us. We would be happy to recommend MDT in the future.

Matt at MDT design has been very helpful during the whole design and planning application process. Our garden buildings were designed to a high standard and the achievement of planning via several iterations of changes was well handled and Matt's great relationship with the planning officers helped the project progress to a great outcome. My wife and I are delighted with the results. Highly recommended.
