They lie to you

They lie to you. They told me that they don't report to Credit Karma and they sure do, I can log in right now and see the account on there. They have also reported to all three credit bureaus that I have missed every single payment but when I called and asked them, the guy said that all they report is the balance and that makes no sense how you can have a balance without the accurate payment history. I have disputed this with all three bureaus. I asked for a manager on the phone and was told to call back later and see if he would talk to me. They refuse to work out a settle for less, the chat team is absolutely useless and the people that work the phone number the chat team makes you call are the ones that will lie to you about your account.

Subject: Formal Grievance Regarding Midlands unprofessional/Unlawful acts
Dear Midland Credit Management,

I am writing to express my grievance regarding the handling of my account, with Midland Credit Management. I have encountered several attempts to immediate attention a debt resolution with your company on behalf of resolving debts owed, as i wished to pay. However, due to your untrutworthityh pratacase i have made two payments that were never accountened for and thus warrented garnishment of my taxes. I her by for waieon any one fromdealing with and companies that use this agaencey as they are highligy suppicuios and trustworthy. Meaning, whwne enterin into an agreegemente they do no tnot dusclose thier hidden motivives wuhci is to inccure intrest at the cusdisomers exspenxe.

Description of the Issue:

Inaccurate Information:
Grave inaccuracies in informations received itinually, such as incorrect balance, wrong personal details, forgotten payments.

Harassment or Unfair Practices:
I called to resolve my debetandwas , inappropriately harassed ,screamed at by the call manager Andre, poor communications, which violates my right to conduct business in a fair and equitable manor.

I would NOT! trust that Midland Credit Management will handle this grievance with the seriousness it deserves and that these issues will be resolved promptly. Because of the nature of their managers who intend to confuse and nit apply good standard business practices and courtesies, of honesty and integrity when entering into agreements for repayment.

Thanks Where Deserved

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service I received from Hayley Forbes at Midland Credit Management. She was incredibly understanding of my financial situation and took the time to work with me to create a payment plan that is realistic and manageable. Thanks to her help, I feel confident and empowered to get my accounts paid off without added stress. Hayley was patient, respectful, and truly professional — a great example of compassionate customer service. Thank you again!

Worst experiences

One of the worst experiences dealing with this company. Its incomprehensible that people would work for a company so deceptive. It must be a strong culture because its so deceptive its sacrilegious and unethical. Move it to AI so at least I dont feel so badly that other humans would do this to people

Financial Terrorists

Scam organization wildly unprofessional, predatory, and rude, basically timeshare for junk debt. Read the Glassdoor and Reddit threads before speaking to them. Go to court with attorney and fight it ( before judgement) ; apparently these get thrown out all the time—and we, the consumers, don't fight back. Make sure you record your calls they will lie. Yes, they are on commission. Rooting for you!

They use an Indian call center that…

They use an Indian call center that intentionally uses fictitious names. Multiple times, the legal department in the US instructs them to and they wont give out any further information.

They pay 2-3% of face value for the debt in forward flow agreements, none of these agreements contain you specifically, it's literally just a list of entries in a spread sheet.

The surprise is all of the named persons have had their rights to privacy violated, as ALL of your details and disclosure is made prior to MCM acquiring the debt. Sometimes they have the information (in my case 5 months before the acquisition of the debt).

Identity misrepresentation and violation of privacy rights are both potential counter claims.

Today - 2/26/25 Reached out to MCM again to accept an offer they made on 1/24 and 2/3 to settle the outstanding bill. They again misrepresented identification in contradiction of statue. Then failed to abide by their own written offer (last week) and increased the amount they'd accept, over and above the written offer that states it's still valid until 3/15.

Unprofessional and rude

This place isn’t based in America and their customer service is soooo bad. I tried working things out with them and they were so rude right away. I was practically yelled at by two managers. The first representative was decent, but the two to follow were jerks. I had to hang up. I couldn’t believe how they were speaking to me and remained calm. They also lied about a debt I had.

Disgusting people

Disgusting people. I am permanently diabled with no job living off the kindness of my children and friends and they call wanting $100 a month for a debt. When I tell them I am disabled they file a law suit against me to force me to pay!! I tried to work with the original company but they did not care and offered absolutely nothing to help. So I used what little money I had to pay the creditors that helped me until I lost my job. Now midland who bought the debt for about 4% of the total value wants me to pay it all, does not care I am permanently diabled and unable to get out of bed most days, and will not help me with a decent settlement offer that maybe one of my kids can lend me. They act like they care and want to help, but they dont. They make me sick!

Phone scam

They continuously called our phone number -- but the 800# the caller ID showed was different every time, although they left the same call back #. I finally called back and they would not answer anything w/o our address and last 4 digits of SSN. Fortunately I would not give that to them. We continued receiving calls so I decided to call again and ask what MCM stood for. They would not give me any information because supposedly they had my husband's name, so I asked if they could at least tell me what the call was about or what the company does. They replied, "No," so I figured it was not legit and told him to take our # off their list. Then I started doing some research which says it is a legit company, but there were many complaints, and They are NOT BBB (Better Business Bureau) approved. I would strongly advise against trusting this company.

Crooks indeed YES

Crooks indeed YES! My husband purchased a credit card from Credit one in 2017 for the amount of $300. Midland bought his debt in 2021 and tried to collect over $600. He offered to settle the debt by paying back the $300 he spent with credit one. Midland turned the offer down in civil court so now my husband has a Judgement on his credit. Really? What has happened to the USA?? They are allowing this type of mess in courts now, SMDH

Call all you want- no return phone call

I have no words to describe the interaction with this company. They are inflexible. they only will settle they apparently authorized to based on their own quota and incentives.
They are clueless of what is going on in peoples live at this time and have no empathy. This translates to stockholders and them only looking at their bottom line,

I have attempted to talk to the correct department 4 times in two days to notify them the debt has been settled. They still sent me a letter advising me of the unsettled debt.NOBODY bothers to call me back. I asked to speak to the person who has a signature on the letter I received and I was told he does not take any phone calls.

Do your homework, and you will find other companies out there who know how to treat a human being with kindness and empathy. This company does not.
A note to this company - hire more employees instead of hiding behind your desk and spend some time on the front line.
