Minirigs are awesome!

I absolutely love my Minirig 3, I have also bought Minirigs as presents for my children (adults) and we all love them. They get a lot of use and the sound quality and battery life are still awesome even one year on (I got mine for Christmas 2021). I have had a lot of poor quality bluetooth speakers in my time, but I don't think I will be able to improve on this one. I also bought a Minirig Mini for my friend this Christmas and that is also excellent quality.

A great British tech company

A great British tech company. I'm so happy with my minirg. Solid, dependable, really easy to use. It just connects straight away. No fuss. Deep, rich sound. I was very close to buying a top end B&O Bluetooth speaker but feel like I have upgraded with the minirig. The styling is distinctive and range of colours allowed me to be distinctive and creative. Totally happy 2 months in.

Still enjoying great sound quality from…

Still enjoying great sound quality from my Minrig Mini 4 years on. A few quality issues now. The battery life is poor, the on/off button light is broken, the barrel connector socket is failing and I get a bit of speaker cracking now. But it’s had loads of use and sound quality is impeccable, so I’ll probably just bin it and get a Mini2 before too long. Happy that it’s value for money if you put sound quality and portability first. Just don’t expect it to last forever.

Fabulous bit of kit

Fabulous bit of kit. As soon as I set it up & put it on, my son came downstairs & said “I’ll be having that” lol, so he kept that one & I ordered another one ( different colour ). just love the quality of the sound & bass. For such a little speaker it’s amazing. Doubt there’s anything else out there that’s as good for the same price, it’s just awesome.

Well worth the price.

I bought a single mini rig and was so impressed that I purchased a second. I have had them working in stereo but must confess that it’s tricky. I still love them however and use them frequently.

Terrible quality for the price

Terrible quality for the price, I contacted support about it. My speakers don't reliably enter stereo mode when using a cable (so can't be used for shows), they turn off when not in use after under a minute, and the internal soundcard in my laptop stopped working the day I started using them (loud pop), which I am sure cannot be a coincidence.

It's probably that this particular batch of speakers are faulty, but that's still very disappointing given that they're boutique. Brexit taxes would make it very expensive to send them for replacement and re-import the new set, and I'm left with a damaged laptop regardless.

10/10 product & service

10/10 product, 10/10 customer service. The best portable speaker hands down. Not sure about the negative reviews here, I've had my Minirigs for over 5 years and they are still going strong. I had an issue with the sub not taking a charge (I used it ALOT), and I sent it back to them to get sorted out and they went above and beyond. I think people forget that this is a hand-made boutique item, made by people with passion. If you want mass-produced plastic rubbish you know where to go. Keep up the good work Minirig

Dubious quality control and poor customer service

Minirigs are great but I wouldn't advise buying one direct from the website, unless you're happy to wait 4+ weeks on a refund or replacement for a defective item.

I ordered a minirig on 28/09 and recieved it on 3/10. Put a tune on and as soon as low end kicked in the unit started buzzing and I could feel the air moving through the seams. Not sure how that passed quality control, unless the QC procedure doesn't involve playing any music.

Contacted customer service who offered a replacement and linked me to a slick prepaid returns procedure, which gave me hope that the problem would be sorted quickly.

The returns procedure invloved the unusual process of printing and filling out a "refund or exchange form" to send with the item, it didn't include any information that they wouldnt have already had so it seems redundant to me. In any case i forgot to include it. I'm guessing that in that situation they just accept the returned item and take no further action because i had to chase it up. When I did, customer service advised me that it wouldn't be a problem.

Ten days later, i contact customer service again asking when i can expect my minirig and they tell me its been delivered and signed for on 03/10. I inform them that thats the day i received my defective item which was returned the next day. They ask for a tracking code to prove that the returned item was delivered, which it was, on 7/10. I sent them a screenshot of royal mails track and trace to prove it and I havent heard anything since. Considering seeking a refund through paypal.

top sound and service

top sound and service
i bought my son two minirig 3's and a subwoofer for his birthday last year, after hearing the quality of sound on a friends minirig2. The quality of sound is just amazing, i was so impressed i have bought myself a set this year. Worth every penny! fantastic build quality , crystal clear sound and ace bass. whats not to like. Topped off with great personal service from the minirig team. Highly recommended.
I am leaving this review again as trustpilot saw fit to remove it last year as "suspicious" no idea why only thing that has changed is i bought another for my godson as they are awesome.

Great hardware, poor software

I have bought a 2.1 set. Great sound for the sice and good value. I use them very often outdoors and get asked about them because of their performance. Having stereo and good base while chilling on the beach is a killer feature and I know no other device which can do this.
But I also have to complain a bit. About the software. The stereo linking is buggy and unreliable. Sometimes it does not work at all, sometimes it's unstable and the linked speaker stutters. It's very sensitive to something or someone between the speaker blocking the signal. Linking the speaker through a cable is no real alternative because you don't get stereo by cable, only mono on 2 speakers.
Also the app sometimes says I am not connected to the main speaker, but there is no good way to tell them apart because you can't rename their Bluetooth name. They don't save the equalizers or volume settings you set in the app, sometimes the volume setting for the sub resets as soon as you close the app. and the app looks like it's from 2006.
Much space to improve, that's why I would only recommend them to enthusiasts. Still though, I am an enthusiast and I do enjoy listening to them very much!

Great Value for money!

Bought my Minirig 3 2.1 system a couple of months back, have used them in the studio and taken to little parties of 20ish people
Pros. Great sound, great battery life, rugged and surprisingly loud
Cons. Bluetooth finicky (not that I use it) no stands to get good stereo imaging (I 3D printed some from an online plan)
Overall 9.5/10

Problems solved

Now updating my review to 4 stars as the charging and communications problems now solved. My charging cable was defective so they sent me a new cable which i received 2 days later and it charged! The phones were down so that was why I couldn’t get through. So yes, customer service is fine! I’ve had my minirig for about 2 months. Tried to charge for first time but nothing happens. Have sent 3 messages via support. 2 emails to Tom the director, 2 messages via Facebook. All I get are automated messages saying message support link. The only phone number is constantly engaged, even at 6 in the morning. Just looked at their website and there seem to be no products available to buy. What is happening to the company? All reviews say brilliant customer service!
