In my opinion
In my opinion, MinuteKey is a SCAM. After reading the other Trustpilot reviews, and after considering my own experience, it is unfortunate that use of the MinuteKey kiosk is an impulse purchase. I had a key made at my local Lowes store which was expensive, mailed to me, and didn't work. There was no prior disclosure that the key would be mailed to me or that the refund policy was limited to 30 days. I am going to suggest to Lowes that they remove the MinuteKey kiosks since they are culpable in giving the kiosks space and tacitly endorsing them. I had the key made at Ace Hardware at a fraction of the cost and given to me immediately.
Your machines suck ass
Your machines suck ass. 4 to 5 extra add on sales attempts are pathetic! No paper receipt available but it does not say that until after the fact.
KEY DID NOT WORK!! TOO EXPENSIVE!! NO WAY TO GET REFUND!
This was horribly expensive and the key did NOT work. It was impossible to get a refund. I would suggest NEVER to use this kiosk. They want too much personal information, phone number, address, email, and they have credit card information. It is concerning. THE KEY DID NOT WORK. IMPOSSIBLE TO GET REFUND. DO NOT USE THIS!!!!!!!!!!

66.7% success rate of a working key
I printed 6 keys. 2 of them were defective. One was not even close to being shaped correctly. I never received an email receipt (after 8 hours of waiting). The amount of marketing one needs to tolerate is absurd. There is no customer service contact information on the machine.
I found the Minute Key machine at my…
I found the Minute Key machine at my local Lowes Hardware store very difficult to use and very, very expensive. I paid over $24.00 to have two padlock keys made and then I found out they had to be mailed to me. I had no idea they would a mailed to me days later. Next time I'll get my keys made at a local key shop where they will be cheaper and available immediately.

$12 for one key at Walmart or Home Depot. Absolutely not. You have ruined a great opportunity to make your company useful. Good luck to you all.
WARNING
It’s been 2 weeks still no key!! WARNING DONT TRUST MINUTE KEY!! Trying to get a refund
Deceptive purchase and terrible customer service
It's crap, never use Minute Keys or they'll steal your money. I ordered 1 key, the machine made 2 copies, they charged in my credit card 2 copies and I had to throw them away because neither worked.
After waiting a long time, a very rude employee answered me. He constantly interrupted me when I was talking and only said that I ordered 2 copies. They will charged you for more key copies than you asked for just to make more money. The customer service is terribly bad, very bad service.
Key delivered did not work
Key delivered did not work! That simple.
Minute Key kiosk located in Lowes…
Minute Key kiosk located in Lowes Middletown. OH.
Area in the store where they actually cut the keys right there didn't have the blank for the key I needed. Suggested the "Minute Key" kiosk.
Wasn't really expecting a key in 60 seconds but started the process. Scanned the key, directions said exact amount for payment, no change. Only key available was brass for $12. Only continued because I couldn't remove the key. Next page was requesting name, address ,phone, email, yada yada in order for the key to be MAILED in 3-5 days. I didn't fill any of that info out.
No way to cancel. Went to customer service to be told by the employee " I hate that machine." No help there. Directed me to another employee who "knew nothing" about the machine. These interactions took about 5 minutes. When I got back to the machine the screen said Remove Key. So maybe the "key" (pardon the pun),to stopping the transaction is to let this mechanical bandit time out. Found a local hardware store and got 2 keys cut right there for $5.99 including tax. These machines are nothing but a rip off. Avoid them at all cost. Lesson learned.
I used the MinuteKey located inside the Willow Grove, PA Walmart.
I used the MinuteKey located inside the Willow Grove Walmart near the hardware dept. It malfunctioned and charged my credit card. However, I called the 800 number on the machine and within 24 hours my credit card was refunded and the machine back up and running. Went back and had my keys made. These keys are half the price of hardware stores and because they are robotically cut each key works perfectly.
Went to walmart on brookpark rd,needed…
Went to walmart on brookpark rd,needed 6 keys,+ 3 free but at the cost not really free, any ways x3 keys got stuck in machine, called # on machine and left info, because of it being Saturday morning. It's Monday no call back, answering service sucks.from all the bad reveiws we need to partition places to get machines removed, think people,if no one will allow machines because of their lack of service,it hurts them.hate to see what the lock Smith company is like.just a thought people, walmart would rather have your business then the chance of losing your long term business and so would others, start complaining to home offices of home depot, walmart etc..stick together people,we are the power, and spend our money..Just a thought, ill be doing it in morning.good luck.
Keys do not work
I went to Walmart and got two keys made when I got off work today and tried to open my house they did not work do not waste your time or money
The kiosk I used at Home Depot didn't…
The kiosk I used at Home Depot didn't give me my keys and it charged my card for them. I tried contacting customer service several times with all the information and a picture of the charge on my card AND picture of the kiosk when they said they couldn't find the address I provided. It's not even a person I am communicating with it's some AI crap. I'm so mad!! NEVER USE MINUTE KEY!!!!
Used a Minute Key kiosk at Home Depot…
Used a Minute Key kiosk at Home Depot on July 20th. Was unable to use my Home Depot card, OK, I'll accept that. Insert the key, locked in place. Now I find that I won't get a key in a minute. I will get it in three days. No way to cancel the transaction. Complete it and get an email saying my card has been charged $74.99 and that the key will be shipped the next day and I will be notified by email when that happens. Eight days later, no email and no key. Reply to the email and find that "the mailbox is full and cannot accept any messages". Call the phone number and wait.. "there are three callers ahead of you.. two callers.. you are the next in line. Then, back to the original message and now nothing works. Went through this several times. "You can press 3 at any time to leave a voice message". Did that, so far no call back. I told them I am cancelling the order and blocking their payment.
Worst key company ever
Worst key company ever! First machine said my door key was abnormal & needing to be shipped, then a whole 6 day wait to get a key that is 2mm longer, had a burr not removed aka ruff edges and a pointy tip that NO key would ever have! Following this mess, calling them is outsourced to India woth RUDE operators who say it takes ANOTHER 7 days just to get a refund and they need a picture first!? This is RIDICULOUS! They charge , $15 for a plain house key! Thats highway robbery! I went to 2 other stores No luck, but ended up getting a copy in 2 minutes for $2.06 from a LOCAL hardware store! Minute key is a scam Avoid & support local hardware companies instead!!
Machine does not cut accurate keys
I just cut 3 identical keys at Walmart in Collingwood.
None of them are even close to working - the cut is missing a key notch at the end of the key.
Don't waste your time
I measured the keys
I made three copies of a key at Canadian Tire/Grandview/Vancouver. None of the keys worked so I measured them with a dial caliper. The cuts are: #1 right on the money, #2 +0.005", #3 +0.01", #4 +0.015", #5 +0.02". It was consistent on all copies: the pointy end cut was wider by almost half a millimeter. Obviously the machine is not adjusted right. I left them a message but if they keep these kiosks in such a state of misalignment, I can't recommend them.
Center hole for keychain is too small!!! Stupid !
I just purchased the $5 key at the Minute Key kiosk at Lowe’s. The center hole at the top of the key is too small for most key chains. How stupid is that design. The quality of the key is sooo poor I doubt it will last long. SAD!!
