Having had no luck for repair and double glazing with local companies we took a chance from the Internet for 2 rotten windows on our grade 2 listed house. It was a brilliant experience from start to finish with efficient communication from head office and informative surveyors.
Our installers, Harry and Nico,were efficient and friendly. The glazing is easy to use and undetectable.

Secondary double glazing fitted to 16 sash windows in a large apartment in a Grade 1 listed building.The windows needed a lot of TLC but John and Ed worked their magic and they now look like new.Thank you.
As has been stated in other reviews they were POLITE TIDY AND CLEAN which was very much appreciated .

Window restoration, insulation and Cozyglazing
Joe, project leader, ably supported by his colleagues Greg and Matt, did a finely-crafted job with good lateral-thinking problem solving in a Chapel conversion involving seemingly impossible access to three lovely double-height sash windows with arching tops. Rotten wood was replaced with English oak, all the original glass was retained, and all the windows are fully workable after decades of being painted closed. While my small house was taken over the team treated it with great care, tidying away and hoovering at the end of each day, and putting down dust sheets not just in my house but also to protect plants and hardstanding in my neighbours' gardens. Like me, the neighbours were impressed at this thoughtfulness. The finished result on the windows and Cozyglazing is excellent. The work followed two extensive site surveys
the first to ascertain that the job was possible, and the second to draw up an in-depth job spec and further costing. One does need to be flexible with the job start and finish dates, due to the nature of historic works, and the company is at pains to make this clear. Based on my experience I would have no hesitation in recommending Mitchell & Dickinson.

The craftsmen were excellent, considerate and efficient and my new secondary glazing has made a noticeable difference in sound insulation that I fully expect to be realised in hat insulation later in the year.

We are another customer with a listed building, with many, many windows. So this was a big outlay and we had to be sure it was right for us, cost effective and aesthetically pleasing without compromising the look of the building. We did visit a neighbour who had used M&D and we saw their completed installation, they were very pleased with the end result, this put our minds at rest.
The guys led by Miles and Jack (Sam, Karl, Nick), were brilliant. The skill and attention to detail was superb, they kept in contact throughout, and anything that we asked for or wanted altered slightly, they did. If they came across a problem that the survey had not picked up, they communicated this directly, and costed it out, so there were no hidden cost ‘surprises’ at the end. They tidied up each night, were friendly, and respectful of us and our property. We would have no hesitation in recommending M&D. Our only negative would be - Nick your taste in music !! (it wasn’t played loudly)

From initial enquiry, through detailed discussion, extensive surveys and a lengthy installation period, the professionalism, efficiency and courteousness of all M&D employees could not be faulted. The product itself has been installed to a very high standard and the significant anticipated benefits, although not yet fully apparent, are eagerly awaited as we move into the Autumn. Although invidious to single out individuals, the cheerful commitment and impressive technical expertise displayed by Ben and Kane was particularly noteworthy. It was a rare pleasure to do business with M&D; I would have no hesitation in recommending their services wherever appropriate.

M&D provided an excellent service from start to finish. The windows in our cottage were all single-glazed and draughty, and we couldn't open the sash windows. We're listed, so it's important that M&D understand the issues when working on an old property. The team was professional, polite, and tidy; they even looked after the dog for a day. We have already noticed that the house is quieter, and we're looking forward to it being warmer in the winter.

Ben and Kane came to restore and fit cozy glazing to 3 of my upstairs windows. They did a sterling job, were very friendly and just cracked on around my schedule. Great with the big dog too.

I have been very impressed by both the work and service provided from start to finish. They appear to have the perfect product and approach to historic properties (and their owners) - after all, we will have bought these houses because we like and appreciate that sort of thing! The end result (all my Victorian sash windows) looks really impressive. And it is a joy to work with such careful and committed craftsmen (even though they do take over your house!). My only very slight criticism would be that is important to be kept informed from day to day who is coming and going and when. But as I said to them, at a time when I am needing quite a lot of work done on the house and garden, I wish that everyone had the same approach. Perhaps the firm should diversify?...

Professional approach and really went the extra mile. I had a call from the MD to apologise when my appointment had to be changed and everyone involved took time to make sure everything was right. Secondary glazing is already making a difference in our coldest room - and expecting it will come into its own in winter.

Fantastic team (Paul, Brian and Jack) who did a very professional job very sensitively with original windows in our Georgian home. Looks great and the windows work properly for the first time in the 30 years we have been here...We are hoping for a warmer winter!!

We had cosy glazing fitted across 4 large bedroom sash windows in May 2024 and the results have been fantastic.
The team (Tony, Paul and Greg) were professional, fantastic at what they do and extremely considerate of our circumstance with small children whose rooms would otherwise have been out of action. The were polite and took extra measures to ensure they completed on time and that safety and convenience of the little ones was considered too.
The glazing itself looks fantastic and the painted edges mean that it's almost impossible to see while crucially maintaining functionality of the windows that other secondary options didn't provide. We woke up with no condensation for the first time in two years and have noticed a clear improvement in sound proofing, the bedrooms are almost eerily quiet!

Joe, Greg and team have just finished installing secondary glazing to around 30 windows in our listed house. The work has been done beautifully. No two windows are the same and they include all sorts of shapes and sizes. They have been courteous, tidy and pleasant to have around, and have finished the job well ahead of schedule.

We are very pleased with the work by Tony and the team at Mitchell and Dickinson. The window glazing is so good that it’s barely visible. They looked after the property and left it the with the best 'post-builder' clean ever. The company were really easy to work with Thanks very much.

Absolutely fabulous experience all round. From the first phone call to the last tidy up it has been an incredibly easy experience and we are delighted with the results.

John and Ed were professional, polite, punctual and as unintrusive as is possible. Their attention to detail and strive to perfection was breathtaking.

I was in the house quite a bit when they were working and their attitudes made it very easy to be around them. Even when they encountered unexpected problems they handled themselves in a positive and problem solving way, not a sigh or a shake of the head to see!

We looked at a few different options before we decided on Mitchell & Dickinson and I am confident we made the correct choice.

The look and character of the house hasn't changed, which is what I wanted.

I am confident my years of mopping condensation on single glazed windows as soon as the temperature drops below 5°C are over.

The work is of a very high standard. We are thrilled with the finished windows. They look as they did, but are now perfect with invisible secondary glazing. The M and D people were skilful craftsmen and very nice and helpful. It’s expensive, but I would highly recommend them.

We had 34 windows (comprising just about every conceivable type) and 6 doors to secondary glaze and draught-proof in our listed Georgian house. M&D were the only company to say that their solution would work on every window/door; the other, perhaps more well-known, companies declined to quote for some of our windows, saying that they were too difficult.

We have found every aspect of dealing with M&D to be exemplary.

We had a team of up to 6 craftsmen (and they are just that) on site for 10 weeks. They were skilled, tidy, responsive, punctual, and delivered exactly what they said they would.

We are beyond happy with the quality of the work and our dealings with M&D.
