A privacy and security nightmare
A privacy and security nightmare. As a site that would frequently ask to verify the ID of sellers often they have no secure way to do so. The standard in Australia is to use the Document Verification Service (idmatch.gov.au) that doesn't share your ID document with anyone, and means they don't retain a copy of your ID after completing the verification. They insist you simply email your ID to them, which makes it accessible to the third party platforms they use (ZenDesk) with no way of known what happens to your ID after the transaction.
