Worst watch place i’ve ever bought from the customer service is the worse i ordered a watch and when i was reading the policy it said i could cancel it with 24 hours notice so i went ahead and sent 5 emails to them and i didn’t get a responses for 5 days until they made sure my watch is already on its way to be shipped they told me i have to send it back when i get i waited for it and when i got the watch they told me i have to pay almost a quarter price for the watch. and the person i talked to is the most disrespectful customer service employee i’ve ever talked too. never order from here if you think you can cancel your order.👎👎👎👎👎👎
I bought this watch as the item looked great and the website reassured me that this business was legitimate with a strong customer service history. I was so wrong!
After parting with a couple of hundred pounds, two weeks later as planned my item arrived.
Initially i was impressed, the item looked great but it had one big issue! it didn't work.
I watched the youtube videos and took advice from friends as with any automatic watch you need movement to get it to work. all efforts proved fruitless, it just does not work!
So I contacted Moddys via email ( only option I could fine) and awaited a reply.
No reply came
I contacted again
No reply
This went on for a week so I felt i had no alternative to raise a case with Paypal.
Surprise surprise Moddys then contacted me several days later asking me to email them with issue and to close my case.
I emailed them again but kept the case open as at this point I no faith in them actually doing anything.
Another week on despite numerous emails and messages through the paypal case but I am yet to receive a reply.
So be warned folks that there is no service and effectively no warranty on these items. You may get lucky ( as some of the other positive reviews have shown) but if you end up like me, you have a watch that looks good but fails to work and am still chasing my money back or a resolution.
Hello,
Had a watch of moodys.
The service was good. Tel I had a problem with the strap.
I can’t anyone to answer emails.
I get them sending me emails all the time about new watches. But not answering my emails. Probably now I’ve send this email, they will come back to me.
Ordered a Snoopy Speedmaster with customised logo from Moddy's. It cost around £300 UKS .
Watch took weeks to arrive and when it did ,it arrived outside the delivery window after I'd stayed in all afternoon / evening to receive the delivery. When the box was opened the watch was found to be completely inoperable, No tick no tock nothing. There was no damage to the package at all and the watch had clearly been sent out in the condition it was received. Moddy's were contacted by e mail ; no reply and in fact I'd sent numerous e mails out asking for a delivery estimate , all of which were ignored /unanswered. Moddy's customer service is only responsive in my experience before you pay them. Fortunately I paid by credit card and have reported the issue to them. Don't be conned by the warranty, doesn't seem to be worth the paper its written on
First watch I ordered from these guys was excellent, no issues so I ordered again. This time, faulty jubilee bracelet, similar to other comments on here, the screws just spin so can’t adjust. Contacted customer service and sent pics, was advised to purchase a new one to solve the problem! ‘After Sales dept’ rubbish if there’s a problem. I won’t be ordering again and have advised friends not to as well.
Watch arrived with a defective band. Reached out the day I received it. They asked for a video sent 2. They said once reviewing they would send a new strap or replacement the watch. They sent an email stating the defective band was within their specs. The links cannot be removed the screws are stripped on 3 links on one side of the band. I sent them a follow up repair or replacement request. They then went silent. I then sent a return for dissatisfaction under their return policy. All within the time line outlined in their policy guidelines. They responded with because the plastic wrap was removed from the band which has to be to size they won't setup a return and they refuse to fix it. I have turned this over to my credit card company. We will never buy from them again.
Great value, quality product with beautiful style. Great customer service.
I bought a watch from this company and thought that the service was excellent. They replied to my questions on the same day.
Company sold me a watch with a faulty jubilee bracelet. The screws were stuck or just spun in place making it impossible to resize. When you email them they just ignore you correspondence because they already got your money. Do not buy from them.
As of 25/04/2026, I am still waiting for a watch I ordered on 27/03/2026 — purchased specifically for my upcoming graduation.
After nearly four weeks with no delivery, I received an email on 22/04/2026 (at roughly 1am AEST) stating that a delivery attempt had been made and failed, that the package had been returned to a local warehouse, and that my details needed to be updated by May 1 or the package would be destroyed. My address was already correct, and I was home the entire day — no attempt was made.
What made this worse is that I was never proactively notified that my package had arrived in Australia. The only reason I found out it was even in the country was because of their failed delivery attempt email on 22/04 — which itself turned out to be false. Had that email never been sent, I would still have no idea the package was here. This is a direct result of the tracking number being completely invisible across every platform from the moment it was shipped.
When I investigated the tracking number provided, it showed no information across multiple global tracking platforms. I personally called every major Australian courier — Aramex, StarTrack, Couriers Please, and Australia Post — none of them had the package in their system. The local Aramex driver for my area confirmed he had made no deliveries in my suburb that day.
When I asked Moddys directly for the name of the courier handling my delivery, they did not know — and had to go back and press their own logistics partner for the information. For a company shipping $400+ packages internationally, not knowing which courier has a customer's parcel is deeply concerning.
I have sent multiple follow-up emails through direct inbox and through their website and Instagram profile requesting an update and the courier information. Despite being fully aware of the time difference, I have been left without a response for over 48 hours on an urgent matter involving a $424 package that too with premium shipping added that remains completely unaccounted for.
I also requested a customer support phone number to streamline communication — notably, their website displays phone hours but provides no actual number listed anywhere.
I also question whether threatening to destroy a $424 package just 13 days after it allegedly arrived in Australia, with no confirmed delivery attempt, is even legal under Australian Consumer Law. The standard industry practice is to hold unclaimed parcels for 30 or more days before any disposal action — and in this case, no genuine delivery attempt was ever made to begin with.
In my most recent email I advised that I would initiate a bank dispute by April 25 if no update was received. I am willing to hold off on that and amend this review if my order is delivered promptly and communication improves.
I want to receive my watch — not a refund. But after 4 weeks of silence, a false delivery notification, a package that arrived in the country without any proactive alert, a courier that even Moddys themselves couldn't identify, and a legally questionable threat to destroy my property — I am left with little choice but to escalate.
No communication from seller once my money was taken. Tracking number is invalid. Scam.
Watch hasn’t even arrived yet but I must warn everyone that it shows as being shipped from China not Spain
I urge everyone to stay away, this companybhas no after sales service whatsoever as well as the items being of inferior quality not worth the money and headache, received a watch with the paint work not finished and on top of that the pins are falling out of strap the clasp does not shut and the watch itself is not working
As for refunds not easy you have to pursue thru you crdit card company I urge anyone paying use credit card or take your business elswhere
Was able to track the delivery of the watch easily on the email link they provide. I purchased the Seikoak skeleton customised with the gold Seiko rotor and was really surprised how good the quality was I even got a complement from my uncle on how good the quality was considering he owns loads of Rolex and many other Swiss watches and he said the watch looks way more expensive than what I paid for ita d was really impressed. Unfortunately the watch did run into initial issues with a blocked rotor however i managed to fix this myself and the watch has been running perfectly now. Love the look of the watch a perfect homage to the AP Royal Oak and at the same time it has a bespoke effect which feels like it also different at the same time. I would recommend Moddys if you are looking to add something custom made and unique to your watch collection
I have now purchased two watches from Moddy's Custom Watches, the Seikomariner Steel Black and the Seikomariner Blue (the "Rolex Bluey" two-tone variant) so this review reflects genuine repeat-customer experience.
The Watch (Steel Black)
If your grail watch is the Rolex Submariner, the Seikomariner Steel Black will genuinely impress you. It is a beautiful piece and the attention to detail shows. I was particularly pleased with the dial, the glass, and the ceramic bezel, all of which look and feel premium for the price point. The movement is a Seiko NH35 Automatic, which is robust, reliable, and entirely appropriate for this price range.
Upgrades
I opted for the gold rotor upgrade on the open caseback. Admittedly, nobody else will ever see it, but I know it is there — and for me, that is reason enough. It is a nice touch that adds a small but satisfying level of personalisation.
Pricing
At €299.95 the watch represents fair value, but where Moddy's really becomes competitive is when you apply one of their discount codes, which they do make available. You can find cheaper alternatives on eBay from other suppliers, but in my experience the build quality is noticeably inferior, so the comparison is not truly like-for-like.
Customer Service
Their support team responds quickly to enquiries, which gives you confidence throughout the ordering process, something that matters when buying from a smaller, specialist retailer.
Delivery
Delivery time is on the longer side, as both of my orders were shipped from China. This is worth bearing in mind if you are buying as a gift or to a tight deadline; plan ahead accordingly.
A Note on the Seikomariner Blue:
My second purchase, the Seikomariner Blue two-tone, is equally attractive, but I did notice that the bracelet did not feel quite as substantial as the one on the Steel Black. It is a subtle difference and may simply come down to the two-tone construction, so I would not consider it a dealbreaker — but it is worth mentioning for completeness.
Would I recommend Moddy's to my friends?
Yes, particularly if you have a discount code in hand. These are well-crafted, visually striking watches that punch well above their discounted price point. If the Rolex Submariner sits beyond your budget but you want something that captures its spirit with quality finishing, Moddy's Seikomariner range is well worth considering.
Do not buy here! First the Seiko logo fell off after a week. After sending a new one, the watch got wet during a walk in the rain and is full with water and humidity. Modd watches refuses to refund me or send a new one. It’s a big scam thus company!
I ordered from Moddys for the first time and went in a bit skeptical. A few things to be aware of: the tracking system is essentially useless, and shipping takes time — a 3–4 week wait seems to be normal. The watch was advertised as having a Miyota 8285 automatic movement (a Citizen hallmark), but it was sold under the Seiko label, so I initially expected an NH36 movement instead.
That said, the Miyota 8285 has turned out to be a better fit for me, especially with its hand‑winding capability. Before buying this Moddys piece, I tried both Rolex and Tudor models. While the Rolex felt superior, it was 100× the price, and the Tudor was still 10× more. What really won me over here is the Seiko‑style dial — I actually prefer it over the Tudor’s, as it has more character.
Overall, despite the slow shipping and poor tracking, the watch itself is impressive and definitely gets attention on the wrist.
34 emails and 3 months later they returned my money minus $30.00
Still give them a quarter of one star review!!
They sent the watch without a correct address. It has been returned to Shenzhen and they no longer reply and my money has not been returned.
The company misrepresented their location and said the watch was Seiko Japanese. Nowhere did it reveal they were in China with imitation watches.
Paid in September’25. Never received product. Only ofc we’ll look into it blaming logistics who lost the product, not customer service (AI) helpful, if this was the case I’d be wearing the watch I paid hard earned money for.
