Customer Service Went Above and Beyond

After much research and deliberation, I decided to order the Babyletto Kiwi Glider from Modern Nursery. It shipped fast, and was easy to put together. However, after assembling, we noticed that the base was damaged. I reached out to Modern Nursery's Customer Service and was helped by Iris. Not only did Iris answer the phone directly (no waiting on hold for hours!), but every email I sent, she responded quickly and promptly.

The resolution was that Babyletto would ship an entirely new glider out to me, but they were out of stock until June 20 (it is currently late May). I let Iris know that my due date was fast approaching on June 16, and if there was anything they could do to speed that up, I would be appreciative. Iris got back to me the very next day saying they were able to obtain a recliner and are shipping it out in 24 hours!

I could not believe how helpful, fast and efficient it was working with Iris and Modern Nursery. I would 100% recommend ordering any baby needs from here and if anything is to go wrong, they will do all they can to help you and your baby the best that they can! Thank you Iris and Modern Nursery, you have gained a lifelong customer!

Highly Recommend

To be honest, I was hesitant to order from Modern Nursery because of their “no returns” return policy. But in the end, I’m so glad that I did. They went above and beyond to make sure my order was delivered - it even came early. There were a few issues with the order (due to the manufacturer), and their customer service (Iris) was excellent in resolving the issues in a very timely manner. They communicated consistently, were responsive, respectful, and they really care about their customers. They kept in contact and were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Modern Nursery!

Absolutely horrendous customer service

Absolutely horrendous customer service. We ordered the Spot on Square Roh crib (nearly $2,000) and paid for white glove delivery service. Our crib was first delivered 3 weeks later than originally stated and when it was delivered, it was damaged (the wood cracked when the white glove delivery team were assembling the crib). The replacement crib arrived weeks later and the white glove delivery team left the mattress at the very bottom ground level, knowing it was for an infant. They also did not leave any materials/tools needed to raise the mattress platform.

To make matters even worse, after weeks of back & forth with the customer service rep at Modern Nursery, they still wouldn’t send out a service team to raise the platform on a very heavy & very expensive crib. I had to hire a handyman to raise the mattress platform (it is very heavy & not easily done contrary to what Modern Nursery’s customer service rep said).

We spent over $2200 with Modern Nursery & it was the biggest pain filled with several inconveniences. We should’ve just bought the crib through Neiman Marcus or Maisonette for a similar crib. Don’t waste your time and money with this terrible shop.

Hi Monique! I'm terribly sorry that you faced the issues which you faced! Sometimes items arrive damaged, which is outside of our control, but what is within our control is making things right! We did order a replacement crib immediately which shipped via white glove service to you. We always make it clear to our customers that our customers should be home and available for a white glove, or white glove plus assembly delivery, in case there are questions. You were not available to speak with the delivery team and did not instruct them on which mattress height to leave the crib on. Most parents transition their babies to the crib after the bassinet, so oftentimes the first time they are using the crib, it needs to be on a lower setting. There is no way for us to know the age of your baby or which setting you'd like it on. You signed off on the delivery and then complained afterward. We offereed multiple times to assist with instructions on raising the mattress height. It was literally 4 little brackets that could be moved up or down and you graciously refused to even try. Ultimately, we were gracious enough to compensate for you to hire a handyman to come over and unscrew those 4 brackets and move them up; a 5 minute job which can be done by anyone and which you would need to know how to do in the future once your baby grows and it needs to be moved again. We are terribly sorry that you were not happy with everything we did to accommodate you. We do recommend that in the future, you make yourself available when a team is doing assembly work for you so that you can make sure it's done the way you'd like it. The Kiwi Glider Recliner saved my life…

The Kiwi Glider Recliner saved my life while being pregnant and having a baby. I shopped around for ages and finally came across this power recliner I looked no further. It's both aesthetically pleasing as it is comfortable and durable. Modern Nursery has shown wonderful customer service as well! Initially I had ordered the recliner in a different color and then had a change of heart and they were completely understanding. After 6 months the recliner still worked wonderfully but had a tiny issue on the bottom which caused a clicking sound when sitting down, I emailed customer service and was so pleased to get quick helpful responses back immediately. They even went above and beyond to resolve the issue quickly. I use this chair religiously, every single day, it's comfortable, relaxing, useful, and my baby enjoys being rocked to sleep on it. My puppy even lays on it any chance he gets! It's the best purchase I've made and I'm thankful I went with this specific recliner and company!

The BEST!

Modern Nursery is the BEST! And even not just for baby items.

There are countless places to shop online for baby products, but I am loyal to Modern Nursery because you get great customer service at great prices too. Modern Nursery has periodic sitewide sales and a great rewards program, and as of now is not required to charge sales tax to my state. These all combine to really great value price wise.
I have also had a great experience when reaching out to customer service with questions on upcoming products, ordering non-baby items from brands that they carry (e.g. a king bed), etc. so you get good value for the money and have access to live and prompt customer support.

I recommend this company to all of my new mom friends!

I have nothing but positive things to say about every purchase at Modern Nursery and every interaction I have had with customer service. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

(If anyone complains about Modern Nursery, then they must be taking issue with the fact that items ship directly from the manufacturer which means that the manufacturer could have issues that affect the order and Modern Nursery did nothing wrong. However, the Modern Nursery customer service team goes ABOVE and BEYOND to mitigate any issues (to the point of taking a hit themselves), and if they did carry this type of inventory themselves, they likely wouldn’t be able to offer as amazing value for the money. So if there are any complaints, it seems like it would mean a fundamental misunderstanding of the fact that this is a wonderful small business and not a big-box retailer and there is simply a different business model. And I would take the great value and dedicated customer service over the other every single time.)

Modern Nursery is a great shop to buy your baby products and furniture from. Their customer service and care is amazing and they are very helpful with any questions that you have. Helped Our Nursery Get Ready in Time!

I recently gave birth to my first child about 6 months ago and Modern Nursery was extremely helpful in ensuring everything was taken care of in a way that put me at ease. We chose Modern Nursery for our baby boy's furniture because we wanted to give our business to a small, family-owned place instead of a big box retailer. Due to COVID-19, we were deprived of a lot of experiences during my pregnancy and wanted to make sure as many elements as we could arrange felt personal and special.

Modern Nursery has a really great stock of high end brands, and we placed our order after realizing that the set we wanted was sold out in most other places. They stayed in constant communication with us. When we encountered some challenges with White Glove Delivery (at 8 months pregnant I couldn't be moving and assembling furniture anymore), Nina held our hand through everything and helped resolve the issue personally and beyond our expectations. She even called on a Saturday to make sure everything was done in a way that we were happy and comfortable with! Nobody does that. If we had ordered from Amazon, I would have been about to have my baby and on my own to figure it out.

We will continue using Modern Nursery, and recommend others check them out as well!

Ordered bookcase with white glove…

Ordered bookcase with white glove delivery that was needed because item needed to be carried upstairs in elderly home. Modern Nursery did not take the time to see if it was available in my area but did take my money for white glove service. I was not informed about service not being available until after shipment so order could not be cancelled. They did refund part of shipping cost, a very disappointing company. Hi Susan, we do send a specialized white glove email as soon as you place your order explaining that on rare occasions and if you live in a very rural area, we may not be able to provide white glove delivery and on those occasions, we will let you know ahead of time and will provide a partial shipping refund. Had you let us know this was a deal breaker after receiving that detailed email, we could have cancelled your order if that's what you wished to happen. I'm really sorry that our carrier was not able to perform the white glove delivery as you had hoped! Customers can also always reach out ahead of time to confirm whether their area is eligible for white glove, even before placing an order, and we are glad to confirm for them!

WARNING! FALSE ADVERTISING! I purchased a car seat and cover only to receive a bill for nearly $300 in addition to what I already paid. They stated despite the fact that I had already paid they posted the wrong price so I owe nearly $300 more and I won’t get the car seat cover I purchased either. They lure you in with good deals and then send an addition invoice. RUN from this company!

This was a horrible issue on the day of our new site launch, our developers migrated over products at the price of the add on instead of the product with the add on, or the car seat cover in this case. We fixed all of the issues before launch, but when they launched the site they overwrote the changes. Understandably, hopes were crushed on the cheapest products in the world. We were not attempting to lure anyone in, in fact, we were desperately trying to correct them all AGAIN in real time. It was a nightmare for all involved.

They take your money....

But my order never got here. They are denying my request for refund as I didn't call for a return authorization. How am I supposed to do that when I didn't receive the items? I'm disabled and 2 of my grandchildren came to this world on 10/19/2017 and I have another due 11/12/2017 in Arizona. The FedEx site says unable to deliver refused by addressee. They must have taken them to the wrong address because FedEx didn't deliver here. They even admitted they received the items back. However, they claim one was damaged. Is that my fault when I never received the items? if you want a great customer service go to Bratt or Wayfair anywhere but Modern Nursery.
