I was very happy with the quick and easy way my phone was traded. I had money in my account within 2 days of sending my phone.

Really good and very quick

Received a Motorola moto E as an upgrade but decided instead to trade in the new phone for £30 on the same day it arrived . Posted it...Received email to ask what network it was on to test it which was odd because I mentioned which network with my initial order. Then told today it's not new because seals were not on phone and/or the box and it did not include any accessories . Offered £20 or pay £9 to have it back which obviously is the same as getting £20. Well as I sent the phone in sealed how exactly was the phone tested without opening the box? I'm waiting a response but clearly I'm being taken for a ride and am going to be no better off either accepting £20 or the phone back which they are probably fully aware of.
Update- received email reply to say there was some confusion over the product and IT WAS actually new. Received full amount. I shouldn't have had to contact them to get it sorted though but have raised review to 3 stars.

No messing sent me a envelope sent phone in cash in bank and full valuation paid via faster payment no messing. Excellent service and am sure this company will go places with customer service like they have.

Very efficient and prompt service. My payment was received within the two working days, as stated by Money4Machines, after my phone was checked. Would recommend this totally reliable service.

I was quite upset because i wanted to sell my iphone 5c which was not far off new and all the quotes from the recycling companies were pitiful until i came across money4machines. Their quote was at least £25 more than the best of the other companies. I sold to money4machines, within a day i had recieved the recycling bag which was free and after sending my phone to them they acknowledged reciept of my phone and within a day the money was in my account, you can't say fairer than that.

The reason why I chose Money4Machines to trade in my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, when I had bought a iPhone 6 outright, was because I had traded in my Blackberry Playbook and got a good price, great service and on-time payment - without any hassle! I could have got maybe £10 more from Currys or somewhere else, but I chose them again because of this.

This time, I chose to a) include the original box plus original instructions, b) use my own delivery method (considering the high value of my phone - £180) - I chose Royal Mail Special Delivery. This should have been £2 extra for a) and £1 extra for b) - as they didn't have to send out a pre-paid envelope. Altogether, this should have been £183(although I still would have paid out for the Royal Mail Special Delivery – worth it considering my prior experience, or so I thought).

After they had received it, although the communication was prompt, I was told that the technical analyst found a dent in the top right hand corner (which is correct). This was on the plastic bezel - not the screen - and there was only the one on the whole phone. I have had this phone for 11 months and it has always been in a case outdoors - still, there is wear and tear with any phone, in my experience at least.

I queried this then checked on their website. It DOES say on the homepage in 'How do I sell my gadget, how does it work?' -> 'in working order' and 'not damaged'. Also, after you input your device into the search box, you can also look under 'definition of working' underneath the 'SELL MY MACHINE' button. (see full description right at the end)

"There are no cracks to the screen or any other part of the machine."

However, I'm afraid:
1) it is absolutely not obvious to look at a small hyperlink underneath a large button for a throw-away term such as 'definition of working' - especially when I a) understand the English language, b) I didn't claim the handset was new (a separate price, I know) and b) I thought I had understood given that I had already sent a device into the company before!

2) it was not mentioned to me explicitly in the email, as this is an important part. General wear and tear can be subjective, that's why it should be made clear to the customer especially BEFORE they send in the phone. In MY definition, ONE scratch/dent/whatever on a plastic, not metal, bezel is understandable in a 11-month period where it has always had a case outside, even though it failed that one time.

3) I should have been paid AT LEAST the extra £3 - as the instructions and the box were included. The TOTAL cost for the larger, padded envelope and special delivery (yes, it could have been recorded - but this is not guaranteed, nor trackable as advised by M4M) was £8.74. I still would have lost £5.75 but that would have been fair as I would have known beforehand. This is not.

4) I contest the fact that ONE bit of damage on an ENTIRE phone would reduce the price by £3 + £10 = £13. This is not to mention the cost of sending it....so in total, I have lost out £13 (+£8.74). That's £21.74, rather than just £8.74 (I chose to pay - so fair).

£180 - £21.74 = £158.26 - a price I could have got in many other places, as I used a comparison site. In fact, for £8 less and MUCH less hassle, I could have simply traded it in at the Carphone Warehouse as I was quoted £150.

5) Finally, in order to have the handset returned, they then decide to tell you that it'd cost you £5 administration fee + £4/£6 recorded/special delivery to have it sent back.

"To have your order returned, our administration fee is £5**, plus either £4 for recorded mail or £6 for Royal Mail Special delivery***."

I feel like, they have effectively, let me send in a mobile phone without making an important term clear and then told me that I'd lost money for one extremely minimal example of wear and tear ,and that I'd stand to lose even more money if I had tried to have it sent back. It might cost them £10-£15 to process a received item (in the same email), but I've effectively lost out on £21.74 because of them, rather than just £8.74 I was expecting - and willing to do on good faith.

In the end, I felt that I had no choice so, although I queried the offer and tried to get them to add the £3 on, they wouldn't budge and only asked if I'd accept the offer. I accepted it in the end because I didn't want to pay to send it back (£10 + £8.74 = £18.74 - possible total cost for sending a phone to and fro).

I feel so disappointed with Money4Machines as I had had such a good experience with them before. I'm afraid, I'll never ever do business with them again. I almost feel deceived out of a good price for my handset.

I will never, ever use Money4Machines. They at least paid me promptly, I'm sorry I have nothing else good to say about them.

The definition of ‘working’ or ’used’ is as follows:

- The machine turns on and boots to start-up screen using on / off button.
- All PIN and/or password locks must be removed or deactivated.
- Once the machine has been started via the above method it is fully functional for all purposes for which it was originally designed to be used.
- There are no cracks to the screen or any other part of the machine.
- All batteries, chargers and leads provided to make the machine fully functional beyond the immediate term must be included along with all accessories required for normal use.
- For all machines with internal batteries that are not easily replaceable by a novice user, the stand by battery life must be a minimum of three days.
- For all machines with internal batteries that are not easily replaceable by a novice user, the active battery life must be a minimum of three hours.
- The machine must have no water damage.
- The machine must have no damage whatsoever beyond general wear and tear. This includes but is not limited to: no major scratches, no dead pixels, no screen bleeding, touch screen fully operational, manufacturing seal not tampered with. If you are still unsure of what constitutes general wear and tear and whether any damage to your machine falls within these bounds, you should contact Money4machines before sending the item

Excellent service, top prices paid and money received quickly and without hassle.

Great place to sell your old phone, quoted a price got paid the amount said easy and straight forward and a better price than all the others will use this company again and recommend to friends etc.

You never get as high a price as when using online auctions but this is a lot less hassle.

I had not used Money4Machines before, but overall I was very impressed. I would have no hesitation in using them again. I had a query before I began and rang up and the lady who answered the phone was very helpful. The process was straightforward, I received my envelope for sending off my phone promptly. I sent off my phone and received payment within 2 days of them having received the phone. They also provided good communication in the whole process, letting me know how things were progressing. I was very happy overall with the whole experience.

I emailed Money4Machines about my phone which had been in my drawer at home for ages.

I got an email reply confirming the next steps. My return envelope turned up within a couple of days. I returned the item and was notified that it had been received and if all was in order I would receive payment.

My cheque turned up a few days afterwards.

I managed to get a few quid without leaving my desk, and hopefully my phone will go to good use.

I sold my Ipad on M4M as I had upgraded. M4M offered me the best price on a comparison website.
