Avoid - ISA ‘delayed’ transfer

Purposely didn’t process my ISA transfer for over two months costing my £100 in missed interest payments. Failed to reply to emails. Wholly dysfunctional company.

Totally unresponsive

My daughter is autistic and we opened a pension with moneyfarm for her that I manage. It has taken months to even get a payment to them. They're unresponsive to emails asking where the payments have gone and to account closure requests. Interestingly, immediately after an account closure request, that was ignored, ....a payment went into the account. Not bothered that we set up hit one of them. If we could close the account we would but they don't respond from any email address!

I requested for my portfolio to be…

I requested for my portfolio to be closed and was told that I would have to request to disinvest first, which I did. The email confirmed that this would take 1 to 2 days and the funds would be available no more than 5 working days from the request. This was over 8 days ago and my portfolio has still not been sold. Absolutely terrible service from Moneyfarm

Problems setting up a cash ISA

Problems setting up a cash ISA via the Etoro website, Moneyfarm were slow to respond to my questions in relation to funding the ISA and this is still not resolved.

Unable to transfer out my pension

I am wanting to transfer out my pension to a new provider, but Moneyfarm keep rejecting the transfer. The latest reason is that my policy number is incorrect but I’ve checked my documentation and asked two people at Moneyfarm to confirm it. The new provider has also tried requesting the transfer with my account number and old policy number and those requests were also rejected. Both me and the new provider has spoken to MoneyFarm and are unable to resolve this issue. I would really like to get through to the person in charge of accepting SIPP requests on the Origo system at Moneyfarm to find out the reason for these rejections.

Update in May 2026: my new provider has sent many requests for transfer to MoneyFarm and they are still being rejected. Agents have confirmed to my new provider that many others are having issues. MoneyFarm's reply to my initial review fails to make this clear.

We can see that you’ve been in contact with our customer service team regarding this, and that they’ve advised on the details needed to complete your transfer request. Following our recent platform changes, the correct provider name to use when requesting a transfer is MFM Pension, as we are no longer operating under Embark. If a different provider name is used, this can unfortunately lead to transfer requests being rejected.
We appreciate that this may not have been clear initially and are sorry for any confusion caused. If you or your new provider resubmit the request using the correct details, this should help move things forward.

In the meantime, just to clarify, interest on Moneyfarm Cash ISAs is calculated daily and applied periodically, so it may not always appear immediately in your account balance in the way you expect. That said, we recognise that this may not have been clearly explained to you.

We’re also sorry to hear that you’re considering transferring out. ISA transfers can take up to 15 working days depending on the receiving provider, but we aim to process them as efficiently as possible and keep you updated throughout.

All good until you want some of your…

All good until you want some of your money out then you need to jump through hoops and some more. I understand that there are certain rules to follow but why should they want to see all my current account transactions for a month. Found this extremely concerning. Try and get straightforward answer from them but that's as rare as rocking horse poo.

I opened a cash isa and it’s been the worst cash isa I’ve ever opened. You don’t get the advertised daily rate and they try fobbing you off with variables in the market. You can’t add money without uploading a statement from the bank you wish the money to come from. All in all a terrible experience. Please avoid

Watch the Cash ISA Ts&Cs closely (I think about 50 pages of these)

Variable easy-access ISA opened at 4.84%. No email notification is sent when rate changes so I transferred out when noticed rate had dropped 0.53%. Then saw bonus rate of 0.71% changed to 0.00%. I emailed to query this. Unfortunately reply advising that £500 must be kept on account for 12 month to maintain bonus was not received before transfer completed. As account remained open, asked if I could re-deposit to restore bonus but told this was not possible.

Also, they do not issue any account closure statement

I have a Stock & Share ISA with Moneyfarm.

I have had a Stock & Share ISA with Moneyfarm since 2016. I have found them very straight forward and clear whenever I have had dealings them.
My ISA's performance, based on my measured "appetite for risk", has been good.
My main critique is that seeing how to give them money is obvious and easy. Seeing how to get it out less so.
Overall very satisfied.
