Predatory Lender With a History of Harassment and Unethical Behavior

MoneyXpress is one of the worst financial institutions I’ve ever dealt with.

My issues with them started right from the beginning. When I first signed up for the loan, they scheduled the withdrawal the day before my payday. I told them this was an error, explained my actual payday, and asked for a simple fix — move the payment from Wednesday to Thursday. They refused. Instead, they blamed me, said it was “my fault” for signing with the wrong date (despite me clearly explaining the situation), and then threatened me instead of helping.

This was the beginning of a downhill spiral.

Eventually, I had to file a consumer proposal. Unfortunately, due to an error by my Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT), MoneyXpress was not listed in the original filing — but this is now being corrected.

My LIT has informed them of the error and confirmed they’re being added.

Still, MoneyXpress continues to:
• Harass me
• Threaten small claims court
• Accuse me of fraud
• Demand immediate e-transfers using sketchy password instructions (“send now, use password ‘legal’”)
• Refuse to pause collections, even with official communication from my trustee

Most ethical companies immediately pause collections when a trustee gets involved and confirms an error is being corrected. But not MoneyXpress — they’re choosing to intimidate instead.

If you’re in financial trouble, do not borrow from this company.
If you’re being harassed like I was — document everything, send it to your trustee, and report them to consumer protection.

This is not how a responsible lender behaves. This is bullying, plain and simple
