It's Saturday and I did not know this.
I called my bank and they will assist me to contest this.
If the service is so good why do they make it so hard to cancel? Well I wanted to cancel because the service does not deliver as promised. If they did, I would not cancel. This is a 7B dollar company I am shocked.
I will call on Monday, but if the bank can't prevent the charge, then I will have to beg for my money back.

Tried signing up for a premium subscription. Didn't work, tried calling customer services was like pulling teeth. Useless.

Good offering, but not being able to cancel online is a major hassle. Forcing the user to call a number for no reason just isn't good practice anymore. If I can sign up online, I should be able to cancel online.

Just deplorable level of customer service as a Financial Advisor. Links were constantly down to Custodian, and third-party vendors. Spent ALL of my time trying connect Morningstar back to vendors and links. Data was always old and outdated.
Customer service was at a high school level, at best. You could never speak with anybody intelligent, who could actually solve a problem.
Good luck getting any customer service -- ever!
Frauds. I can't cancel my 14 day trial. Please join me in contacting the ACCC about this.
For those caught up in this scam - update your credit card details to a fake VISA number. Something like: 4111111111111111
I signed up for the free trial and now they are making it difficult for me to cancel. Making me jump through hoops.. The free trial will be over shortly and i am going to be charged. There is no simple cancel function on the morningstar website. Its really sad. I will be filing a charge back with my credit card provided.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE - They are one of those companies that make it as difficult as possible to cancel your subscription - they have conflicting information across the US and UK website, which seem to be different - its so anti-customer in this day and age its verging on criminal. I wish I'd read the other reviews on here that say exactly the same thing.
HAHAHA , they replied 6 years later , says it all really

I do use the premium version, and the analyst reviews are of significant value. Their ratings represent a good second opinion. However, I already have access to this same data through my broker.
I use the portfolio view to download a snapshot daily and use my own spreadsheet to manage my investments. The data; however, often has issues. I moved from Morningstar from Yahoo, but find Morningstar to have as many issues, even with a Premium membership.
Support is generally of no use. Sometimes when sets of data are missing (dividend values are missing from most/all equities) they reply after the data gets fixed in 3-4 days. Other continuing data problems have gone on for years, with support giving me nonsensical answers.
For example, they have continuing problems with showing the Dividend Amount (which is the Div/Share extended by the number of shares you have entered). It is generally just plain wrong. Elsewhere on their site, the Div/Share is correct, so they must have data problems within their site. I would actually prefer they just provide the Div/Share value, but that suggestion obviously falls on deaf ears.
My concern is about what other data problems exist that I don't know about? And bad information is worse than no information.
Although I keep track of my investments in the Morningstar portfolio, I have the functionality to automatically process income transactions (deposit the cash or reinvest) turned off, because of data problems. When transactions are wrong, it is much more difficult to manage than having this turned off. I just adjust the share amount and cash balance periodically.
Overall, there is some value, but I am very disappointed

It is literally impossible to cancel your membership. They don't answer mail or phone. I had to resort to blocking my visa card entirely and order a new one.

Morningstar provides price data to several trading platforms.
Commencing 10/9/18 13:16 it has been sending false data that cancels stop losses as if they had failed by gapping. So far cancelled 38 times for portfolio of 20 because repeatedly replacing eg GAW

Morningstar customer support essentially ignored my written communication, providing telephone numbers I couldn't call, and made cancelling their premium subscription prohibitively difficult. The morningstar.com domain only handles companies endogenous to the US (only NASDAQ, NYSE etc. and US OTC tickers can be added to the portfolio) making it useless for anyone with an international portfolio. Lastly, the interface and system seems ancient and clunky. I wouldn't recommend Morningstar Premium to anyone.
For a school assignment I needed a financial website database, so I decided to try out the 14 day free trial of morninstar. None of the excel addins worked on my windows pc and they did not even have mac support. It is impossible to cancel the premium once you sign up for it. I emailed the support few times and got no response (although they say we will response you within 24 hours). The website feels like a complete scam I have no idea how it is even a known website with a reputation. Do not use it for sure
I am still not able to cancel it I fear that they will charge me the amount at the end of the trial period which is crazy..

You need to call a support number in order to unsubscribe, which for me is a bad customer support experience. Not to mention that this was nowhere specified.
Aparently the confirmation mail came later, so I am still subscribed for one month.
The website has some good insights but the most interesting things are only for the biggest X companies in the world. The rest of the information can be found anywhere else for free. For me this proved to be useless but that is a matter of what you need.

Decent online database of company financials. Figures are sometimes different to 10Ks and 10Qs but overall a very useful tool for research.
If you accept premium subscription you can't unsubscribe online. You have to call their call centre have now been waiting for 40 minutes to do that. Unacceptable services!

This on-line database of company details is very useful for my research. But they are charging me every month and I can't unsubscribe on-line, I haver to call a number in the USA instead. I am currently holding on the other line to the USA from the UK for 45 mins so far and still in a line. It's an outrage and exceptionally sharp practice. Outrageous.
