DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Do not use this company and note that they operate under several other names as well (National Motorhomes, Unbeatable Hire). the motorhomes are tired. They may seem good value but they are just try and take your money at every turn and even if you don't owe them anything they hold your deposit. They tried to say we bought the van back late (we were about 4 hours earlier than the time specified). They tried to say we went over the speed limit which we did not. There was just a catelogue or money grabbing tactics. We took legal advice in the end as trying to get through to anyone other than the low level call answerers.
The stress of trying to get our money back was not worth the week we had away. such a shame as i really wanted our first campervan holiday to be remembered fondly not by the stress of getting our deposit.

Very poor service and disingenuous booking process

Live Chat on website never works. They never answer the phone. They keep asking me to do things which I've already done (like provide driving licence etc). The package I booked says things like gas etc are included on the emails I receive but when I look at booking details on the website virtually nothing is included. Every time you click on a link to do something on the website it says that the website isn't working. Cancel booking is working thankfully and that's what I've done. No refund - but I've cut my losses and found another supplier.

Keep well clear if they continue to trade

As you will read in most of the reviews here this company (or should I say companies) promise great deals then after booking start sending emails about extras you will need like electric hook up, hose to fill with water, kitchen utensils. When did they become extras. I decided that the so called good deal was not so good so decided to cancel. However it was after the 24 hour cancellation period by a day so was refused by some faceless person on a chat line. I eventually got a scheduled time for someone to call me but they just repeated the company policy. They did offer some of the extras for free but by this time I had read the reviews here and decided it was better to cancel and get my credit card involved to try and get the payment back. I did this and informed the hire company I was doing so. To my surprise they replied saying they will filing for insolvency and under section 75 I should claim the money back. So I informed my credit card company (Barclays) who successfully claimed the full amount. What a relief, having seen how long other people had been trying to get deposits back.
Assuming this company rises from the ashes, do not touch them with a bargepole. There offers are not all they seem to be and although they do have terms and conditions they are not obvious and hidden extras will result in a much higher cost than promised.
Moral of the story, read independent reviews before parting with any money and read all the small print with respect to refunds, cooling off periods etc.

TOTAL SCAM - watch out for £75 charge each time you exceed 73mph

DON'T USE THEM !! Hired 2 vans last year, both old & well past their sell-by date, have numerous photos of internal & external damage, too many things damaged to list.
Don't be fooled by their posh website, charge you for everything as extra, chasing payment all the time; beware going over 73mph you'll get charged £75 each time taken off your deposit, which, by the way they hold for 28 working days after your return.
Overall they are a TOTAL RIP-OFF. Pay a bit more to someone else, they are nowhere near as cheap as they look

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Do not use this company and note that they operate under several other names as well (National Motorhomes, Unbeatable Hire). Our motor home was substituted with a van 6-7 years old and we listed 40 faults, 20 of which had health and safety implications. We had a broken indicator, the van broke down twice and we had no hazard lights; we were at risk of scalding, burns and puncture wounds due to faulty items inside, to name but a few, and the whole van was very shabby and decrepit. We took legal advice and quoted the law in our complaint requesting a 50% refund and refund of out of pocket expenses. They took their time getting back to us and we had to post the complaint as well as email but they did agree. However, we never received an apology or any indication they were bothered about the issues and had to make constant follow up contact to get our money - it took about 3 months. This company should not be trading on this basis. Unfortunately, they and their sister companies have an almost complete monopoly on national motor home hire. I think unlikely we will have this type of holiday again but we will go with a regional/local company having checked reviews if we do.

Scammers

After seeing one of their great limited time only deals I Booked a hire with this company. I then read the reviews… THANK GOD I DID, I cancelled immediately and was told I would be refunded, been chasing since only to be told now their filing notice for insolvency. lucky I paid by credit , I have contact my bank and they have refunded my deposit and they are dealing with them now..
Note to all, always do your home work and read the reviews on a company before booking…
My fear is they will just start up under a different name with the same scam!

Scam - let your bank do the work to get your money back

Same story as everyone else. Booked a motorhome for Xmas. Received a text a week or two before the booking was due to start to say it was cancelled due to emergency recall. No answer by phone or direct chat.

Fortunately, the bank was able to reclaim all fees within about two weeks. If you paid by debit /credit card then don't waste your time waiting for motorhome UK to answer the phone. Go via your bank. It'll be less painful.

No consolation for those who've had their holiday plans ruined.

Trading Standards / Law makers - where are you when we need you?

MOTOR HOME HIRE SCAM

Trustpoilot need to give the ability to select Green Stars for good and Red stars to warn everyone to stay well clear.

This company is actually Unbeatable Hire Limited according to its company registration number 04306649 or Hire Booking Centre under company registration number 07994025, which trades under a multitude of online names or partnered / affiliated online companies which Include:

Motorhomehire.uk.com / Motorholme.co.uk / Nationalmotorhomesbooking.co.uk / Nationalmotorhomes.com / Nationalmotorhomes.co.uk / Motorhomeexpress.co.uk / Motorhomefreedom.co.uk / Festivalmotorhomeshire.co.uk / Unbeatablehire.com / Petfriendlymotorhomes.co.uk / HIirebookingcentre.com, all run by Karen Oakley & Andrew Hughes based at their address in Cambridge, namely Fairways, Toft Road, Bourn, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB23 2TT.

There are probably more online trading names that I have not had the time to research yet, when I do, I will update this review.

I booked a Motorhome at the beginning of December for a four night hire in February, through Motorhome Express, I even had the booking confirmed by e-mail which told me I had to book a telephone interview with them, to talk to through my booking details with them, which I did.

Two weeks later, I received an e-mail from their Hire Administrator reminding me to 'CHECK IN' but when you try to do this, you get linked to a new webpage "HIRE CHECK IN" and this message THIS BOOKING HAS BEEN CANCELLED "Due to ongoing issues, we are unable to process credit card payments nor deposit refunds at this time. Unfortunately due to this situation, Unbeatablehire is filing notice for insolvency."

Then a list of things to do to attempt to get your money back from your card company.

I had not even heard of Unbeatable Hire Limited and there is no mention of the parent company on the booking website, and if thats not bad enough, considering they claim to have filed for administration, they are still trading and I can even make a booking online today through every one of the compaines trading names.

I notice within each email I received, there is also a CC recipient to this link "emailtosalesforce@24x5j9rtle79r77cpibtghbuv. in.salesforce.com" and I have been receiving this same e-mail every for the last 17 days, all with the same result.

I am not the only person that has booked a Motorhome and after the money has been taken, have received an e-mail informing them the hire has been cancelled.

TOTAL SCAM and in my opinion the company is trading fraudulently and ripping of the credit card companies (I paid by credit card so get my money back) or if you paid by debit card, rippin off YOU!

There is even a 'RIP OFF Britain' video hosted by Gloria Hunniford on youtube which gives you an idea of this company and how it treats its customer, in my case it looks like they gone to a new scam.

Youtube link is http:// www.youtube. com/watch?v=nvN8mvC7VSI
only without the space after // and www plus . and com

TOTAL SCAM / TOTAL SCAM / TOTAL SCAM / TOTAL SCAM

Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this company under all of its online trading names.

100% SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!

God knows why I have to give them a rating of 1.........

I absolutely HATE this company!!!!!!!!!, booked a van out in October, this company wanted extra for everything even down to toilet paper.......we paid for the whole upgrade package, RAC cover, 45 min show and tell on initial collection, the lot......cost me a small fortune, we get to Scotland on the first night and the internal heating isn’t working, try for hours to get hold of them but no answer, next morning I manage to get the RAC out only to find out that they are not trained in this heating section.... trying to get hold of this company on the phone is impossible and I really mean this, I had to use some crap online chat service. I spent 2 days trying to get this heating issue sorted but it was pointless.....they kept on cutting me off.....we ended up having no heating in this van for the whole holiday and it was ruined......I couldn’t enjoy nothing as I was sooooo angry with the company.
If I hadn’t of bee. 8 hours drive away and had nothing pre-booked I would’ve drove the van back and parked it straight in there office......
When I got back to the depot I was fuming, only to be told that I had to take my issue up with head office, and yes guess what.....no phone number, just email.
I sent a mail and I think on the 5 day I had a reply saying some crap about they are in financial trouble and as a result will not even give me my deposit back. To add insult to injury they charged me £141 as I called the RAC out due to the heating issue, this they told me this was going to come out of my deposit.....(which I’m not now getting), never mind that I paid a whole lot of money to cover anything like this should it of happened.....
the company is still online taking bookings..........
The most heartbreaking thing about this whole trip was my wife 10 weeks ago had major surgery as she had breast cancer and I booked this holiday for just the two of us, no kids no stress, no pressure, just us two, a van and a week in Scotland......she was so excited.....how some things can sound so good yet go so wrong so quick and all because of a scamming company with absolutely no care in the world for anything just as long as they are taking every last penny they can.........Merry Xmas motor home hire or whatever you next company name will be. I wish you all the worst luck in the world..... you scamming, greedy, self-centred, ripoff bunch of con artists.....

I swear I will discredit you and all your companies on every social media site I can!!!!!!!

How may I help you?     Abigail Birch02:58:31 pm Can you please confirm my deposit will be paidI have answered all questions and haven't had any info from you to confirm it will beI have informed my credit card company who said they will be in contact with you     Mathew03:00:16 pm Due to ongoing issues with our merchant card provider, we are unable to process credit card payments nor deposit refunds at this time. Unfortunately due to this situation, Unbeatablehire is filing notice for insolvency.

We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

What to do now.
If you have paid a deposit in advance for a booking or paid a refundable deposit that had not been repaid, you can recover your payment(s) as follows.

Credit card payment.
All credit card payments are automatically protected and you have a legal right to a full refund. You should contact your card provider and quote that you wish to claim a refund under Section 75 of the consumer credit act.

Debit card payment.
If you paid via a debit card, you must claim a chargeback.

Chargeback is a mechanism for your card issuer to reclaim money from the retailer’s bank.

This can allow your card issuer to provide you with a refund due to Unbeatablehire Limited filing for insolvency.

How chargeback works
Chargeback claims should be addressed to your debit or credit card issuer, who in turn will put in a request to the merchant card providers bank.

The process for managing chargeback claims is determined by a set of rules from American Express, MasterCard or Visa.
There are no guarantees your issuer will be able to recover the money through chargeback.

Time limit
You should make a claim as soon as possible, as your card issuer usually needs to start the chargeback process within 120 days from when you made the transaction or when you were due to hire the motorhome.

Providing evidence
Your card issuer is required to provide evidence to the retailer’s bank to make a chargeback claim.
The evidence can be summarised in the form of a written letter or email from you or in a written form which the issuer fills in on your behalf following a discussion with you.
When you first contact your card issuer, you should provide the following information:

the name of the company you have paid money to (Unbeatablehire Limited)
the date you paid the money and how you paid it (over the phone or online)
a detailed description of the services you paid for (e.g. motorhome hire) and the hire collection date
what has gone wrong - the company has filed for administration
You should notify your card issuer of the insolvency practitioner (Antony Batty LLC)

Alongside the form, the issuer may need to provide other evidence, and they may contact you after your first discussion with them.

Chargeback is not a legal right, unlike Section 75 customers

STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES IF YOU…

STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES IF YOU DON’T WANT TO LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT!!!!
The worst company I have ever had to deal with.
Everything was excellent until I requested my deposit back.
I received a deduction on the mirror cover which was already there and marked on the sheet on collection and return.
Many emails requesting my deposit to which I never received a reply.
Phone calls which were never answered as I think they registered my number so as not to answer my calls.
When I called from different numbers they would answer only to apologise for the delay and that it would be done within seven days.
This happened thee times.
In the end a raised a fraud claim with my credit card company and got refunded by my credit card company after 6 months.
