After 5 hours trying to contact this pathetic company
They have got back to us and said We need to get in touch with our Card Provider to get a refund of £541
This is after they cancelled our reservation
I truly hope they all have the worst Christmas ever because they have ruined ours
Please public DO NOT USE this lying cheating theiving disgrace of a company

Stay away

No help at all while your away, things falling to bits and the £1250 deposit you give them you don't get back. All they say is their having problems with their merchant provider and cannot provide the refund. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

Scammer!!!

This is fake... they will screw you... I received an email that theyve cancelled it for no reason at all.. waiting for a refund but no action at all... its annoying.. scammer!!!

avoid like the plague

I hired a motorhome for a 4-5 day break in August, the unit I was given had duck tape holding the rear bumper on, there was a slice about 5ft long cut out at the side at the top where a previous renter had damaged it and the seats were torn. My biggest complaint was the added extras that I had to pay for which were only highlighted once I paid the hire fee such as the kitchen pack and power pack which should come with the unit. They also took 3 months to return my deposit, should have been after 30 days. Never use this company

Awful,Annoying,frustrating,disappointing, NEVER USE AGAIN, AVOID

Poorly maintained motorhome, many things worn/broken, drivers headlight faulty, only noticed this whilst driving at night and far from depot later the same day, Fuse blew whilst away which I fixed after searching high and low for the fuse box, no clear direction as to where it was in the black and white printed clump of paper that was given to us as 'manuals'.

Instructions at depot prior to leaving where exceptionally brief despite paying for it. Vehicle had several scratches which we documented. Everything was rushed at the depot, the staff where good but appeared to be under a great deal of stress to get everything dome in time.

When trying to get our deposit back, which takes an inordinate amount of time even without any dispute we had a dispute regarding a parking charge. Protracted email contact, despite several requests no telephone number given, Live Chat was utterly useless just redirected me back to the email route, A dispute regarding our car parking fee, we had already paid and could only book our space if payment had been completed, yet they still refused to refund the full amount, then after more emails they requested that I prove I had paid, even though I could supply them with a link their website that confirmed payment had been 'processed'.

Utterly disgusted with this company, trying to not get too angry as it makes no difference to them, I advised them that this was horrendous customer care and that a more customer orientated company would refund the full amount. They remained fixed on gaining their payment ignoring, or rather not engaging with my emails highlighting the appalling customer care.

THIEVES BASICALLY

DO NOT HIRE FROM THESE THIEVING JOKERS!!! Worst company ever for hidden charges. They will try screw you at every turn on whatever they can. Customer service is absolutely appalling too. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!

Scam...

My parents hired from them or tried to... they use small prints to add further charges, you won't know until it's too late to cancel. These charges will revealed in a series of emails you will be getting after weeks you book.

If you contact them they will tell you you cant have have a refund. So either pay the £2500 deposit or lose on your planned holiday and booking fee. I am sure they make a lot off people who just end up cancelling because they can't afford to risk losing their deposit (as many below have stated). Sad really, they need to be shut. Can't believe something like this still happens... Be warned and if you have already booked and paid, contact your bank and check their chargeback schemes. Know your rights as a consumer! Good luck.

I hired a Motor Home for along weekend…

I hired a Motor Home for along weekend from Motorhomehire and feared the worst having read all the bad reviews. We took good care of the Motor Home and returned it clean and with the same amount of fuel as when we collected it. It was annoying that in the weeks leading up to collection there were many e-mails from Motorhomehire offering unnecessary additional extras. However the deposit was returned in full with only one nudge via their chat line about a week after the 28 working days after return, as stated in the agreement. So all in all, not a bad experience for us.

My quick, honest review

It's very simple:

- Your experience will fall significantly short of expectations and you'll end up paying more than you expect.
- The RV/motorhome will be possibly be deficient in one or more key areas: E.g. Showers not working. Compensation is a pitiful per-day figure.
- Be prepared to wait months for the deposit to be returned
- Support during the period is bad. If something won't work after a phonecall, it won't work.
- By the end of it you will have >40 emails in your inbox - the a mix of upselling offers for things that should be included as standard, and important detail presented poorly.
- Items may be missing so it's on you to itemise everything before you drive off.
- They are lazy when it comes to checking the motorhomes before the hire, but meticulous at checking the motorhome after the hire and will add penalties you cannot contest (e.g. "a drip of water came out of the tank and it should have been dry").
- You will be passed between multiple websites in a way that feels dodgy. It's not a personal company to deal with at all. It could all be run from abroad - it just has a slightly shady feel to it?

I mean, it's up to you but I would say two things:

- By purchasing through these guys you are validating their business model of 'cut every corner and maximise the value of every customer'
- The stress of working with these guys over months will be make it feel like you never had a holiday.

I never write these but honestly... pay a bit more (you will with these guys anyway) or you'll suffer.

Disgusting vehicle supplied ruins my holidays I refused to even except it they apparently are unable to change vehicles wasted my hard earned money they wouldn't give me a refund theses are sharks and comment horrible booking phase too too too long and was very labouros my advice people avoid trading standards are currently looking

Please read this before you use this company

We recently hired one of the motor homes for a week. The process to book one is just awful but we stuck with it. We shouldn’t have.

The customer service as you book is just appalling too !

Returned it sparkling clean and were even told all was ok when we returned it. We took loads of photos just in case !!

We are now being told that not only is our deposit not being returned but we are being charged £100s for a returning it dirty, speeding etc etc.

All completely untrue and just so outrageous.

We have called trading standards. Got our credit card company involved. Now going to a lawyer as this is just so bad.

If you check out all the feedback there is a theme. The low cost advertising and deposit approach is all a scam. I wish we had looked at all the feedback before we booked.

Please learn from our appalling experience And don’t use this company.

CRAP

Giving them 1 star is being generous, they deserve nothing. Absolutely awful company. At first they seem really reasonable and then they start adding this and then adding that, the whole process was laborious and confusing. They gave us the wrong motorhome but apparently we should have been pleased that they "upgraded" us, didn't matter that the two 70 year olds who we hired it for wouldn't be able to climb the ladder to get into the bed over the front seats so one had to sleep on a bunk bed and the other in the dining area (the one we hired had a static bed which would have been ideal and was hired for that reason). And as my in-laws thought they were getting a double bed they only took one quilt etc so because of the bed situation they wanted to charge us for extra bedding because we now had to use two beds!! The motorhome itself was obviously one they keep as a spare as it was disgusting and tatty and stunk. Nevertheless we did have a lovely weekend but because we had lovely weather and a beautiful site, nothing to do with having a "wonderful" motorhome. We returned it on the Monday and then after the required amount of working days we applied for our refund. Since when have you had to ask for your money back!! Anyway, guess what, money didn't arrive in our bank account even after doing everything that was asked. I could write you at least a couple of pages of what happened next but the shortened version is we have eventually got our money back 2 months after we should have. Looking at other reviews that's not too bad as it looks like quite a few people haven't even received theirs, so we are quite lucky. Would I recommend them again - definitely not. The whole process was awful, the only helpful person was when we actually booked it, it seems that after they have your money they are absolute poo.

So far so good....time will tell!!!!

Can only review the booking and reservation process as yet, but so far it’s been very good. The telephone service was efficient and friendly and we got a really good reduction on the online price.Range and availability of Motorhomes was good as are the spread of pick-up points. If the actual hire next year goes as well as the reservation process then it will be great overall. Time will tell!!!

AVOID! False deposit charges and tried to dodge repaying deposit.

AVOID - made-up charges and did not return deposit as promised!

Booking was OK but very laborious - every time I thought that we'd completed it, there would be another email about gas cylinders, TV licence, "welcome packs" and so on... (each with additional charge).
The motorhome was great (short break). We returned it on time, spotless, with full tank of diesel as required and it was signed off at the depot in this condition.
However, the company then tried to charge me for 3 lots of "damage", plus cleaning and administration fees, and they would not return my deposit. I disputed this and after about a month, they agreed that the charges were not real and that they would return the deposit in full. The money didn't come.
After over 3 months of mailing, I eventually got my credit card company involved and Motorhome Hire paid up.

Advice - AVOID THIS COMPANY - they are sharks!

Criminals

Criminals. I have video proof that my motorhome was brought back on time and fuel tank was full yet they have taken charges off my deposit for £230 without explanation or justification. When I try to contact them they shut me down and say my account is closed. They have ignored my video evidence. Having to go small claims court.
The experience itself was also terrible. Table was the wrong size for the bed conversion so we couldnt sleep in it. Wasted short break.

Having hired a Motorhome for the first…

Having hired a Motorhome for the first time, I couldn't have chosen a worse company to use!
The booking process is laborious, confusing and misleading. It took 5 days to get to speak to someone, who was then disinterested to say the least.
The Motorhome had dirty crockery and had not been fully cleaned plus the extra paid for handover/training was awful as we couldn't understand the disinterested chap supposedly helping us.
I then had to work hard to get our deposit refunded!
MY VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION, is to go somewhere else!

Stay well away from this company

Stay well away from this company.
Beware they use many different names/websites but they all come back to this company.
I was lured in with the amazingly cheap deals but they’ll purposely keep a hold of your deposit to gain interest to make their money back, it really is sad and pathetic especially with today’s interest rates.
Took me 61 working days (13 weeks) to get my £1250 deposit back and I’m sure they only retuned it because my credit card company was on to them.
Trading standards have been informed of there conduct.
As I’ve mentioned you have been warned!!

Never use this company

From start to finish this has been my worst ever hire experience. Once you have agreed the price they hit you with all the extras and a huge deposit. You get the motor home as you would from a showroom, that's it. No cooking equipment no way of filling with water. The actual motor home was nice. Take photos of everything before and after. I returned the vehicle and done the walk around with the worker then signed what I thought was the end of hire agreement but it wasnt. It turned out it was a signature to say I was happy with the hire. Once I asked for my deposit back I was charged over £500 for a cracked rear light panel that I 100% know wasnt something I had done. There is no way of contacting by phone unless you make an appointment and wait days for them to call you. It took a total of 3 months to get what was left of my damage deposit back.

Total cost of hire was £300 per night.

Never ever again!!
