Worst service ever- read this review but stay away from them
Worst service ever- i reserved a bmw online and had the finance arranged. When reserving the car I was not told there was a £299 admin fee and then once the figures had been agreed they said they’d made a mistake and that they have to charge £299 extra.
The photos of the car showed leather seats, on arrival they were cloth. The car hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly, and still had the previous owners parking tickets in the door pockets. The boot had glitter everywhere and mud in the sides of the boot opening. I was also told I could only test drive the car for 5
Minutes as she had to pick her son up and go on holiday- never mind I was spending £16798 on a car!
What’s worse was the service from Vicky. When I said I was not going ahead with the purchase- I got shouted at, called a silly cow and why would I go all that way and not collect the car? That she was due on holiday (although the dealership was meant to be open until 5pm -we arrived at 3pm) and he son was waiting on a train for her.
Having always worked in sales and customer service I have never experienced anything like it at Motor mill. Utterly horrendous. Don’t do it. Stay away. I didn’t even get my £99 “fully refundable deposit” back as it states on their website. I got £37 back because they’d filled the car with fuel because of their own mistake by not mentioning the admin fee.
Vicky even went as far to say that they didn’t want to sell me the car anyway because the manager wanted to put the price up and it was too cheap- which now they have done- so they’ve kept my money and have upped the price by £700.
This is not a business to be trusted. Go elsewhere.
Absolutely disgraceful service
Absolutely disgraceful service. Sold me and unroadworthy car, called to try get some resolution and the attitude of the staff on the phone was appalling. Would not recommend at all, they were brilliant when they sold me the car but as soon as they have the money the customer service goes out of the window
Motormill is a very relaxing no…
Motormill is a very relaxing no pressure or hassle to get you into buying a car. They give you the keys and simple leave you to view/look around the car your interested in at your leisure. After my partner purchased his car from here last year I decided to pop in to see what was on show within mins I placed my £99 deposit (refundable) went home within an hour I was back and happily and easily purchased the car I wanted. Thrilled to bits with their service and customer care and highly recommend for everyone to visit..
10/10 for outstanding service
Excellent service as always
I have been using Motormill for servicing my car and for MOT’s since purchasing a car from them 3 years ago. I have always been more than happy with the high level of service and customer care provided from all members of staff who I have dealt with. Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent service provided by staff
Excellent service provided by staff, they were so helpful talking me through my options and benefits of various car models and finances. Made the whole experience pleasant and smooth and offered a reasonable exchange rate for my old car. I would definitely recommend.
Love my new car
Love my new car thank you Motormill. The service I have received has been great. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. 5*
Incompetent is generous
To summarise: minimal effort is too much.
I could gladly go in to much more detail but I'll try to keep this brief. Before I get into this, my experience was from about a year ago, although from speaking to them recently I have no reason to believe things have changed.
Basically, I went to look at a car but arrived too late in the day to actually drive it, said I'd come back the next day, they said that was good, no problems.
Call first thing next day, same guy (let's call him Jason) seemed surprised that I wanted to drive the car before buying, said he'd taken it home for the weekend to 'test it'?? Was told 'Jordan' would call me back that day (Friday), heard nothing so called them on Monday.
Long story short, arranged to test drive, when I arrived, both J & J were busy, was sent out with someone that didn't work there. Brakes squeeked during test drive, when I got back to the shop they said that they'd only look at it once I (or another customer) had paid for the car.
On top of all this they offered me a lower part exchange price for my car than webuyanycar did, which was already abysmal!
If you want estate agent level service when you're buying a car, I can highly recommend motormill. If you're looking for anything but the least possible effort I'd suggest lookling literally everywhere else before coming here.
So far so good. Issues resolved quickly.
Bought a 2011 Insignia Elite from Motormill. Delivery was delayed but only because they spotted one of the headlamps had some fogging - I hadn't noticed it when viewing. A couple of weeks after picking up, rear brakes started rubbing but they took it back in and replaced pads next day. You can expect niggles like this on a 90k miles car and as long as the dealer responds quickly and sorts these issues, that's all you can ask. So far, so good!
Try elsewhere
Try elsewhere, my car should never pass their MOT, now, month later it needs 2000£ investment to make it road worthy again.
Avoid for your own good.
Sold car before i got there
Late yesterday I booked a viewing for first thing this morning (explaining I was travelling 80 miles)
I was asked for my name and number. Absolutely gutted to drive nearly 2 hours arriving at 9am and find it was sold yesterday after I'd phoned. No one thought it might be a good idea to ring me and let me know!??
The explanation that they can't hold cars cos some people don't turn up is not good enough. They had all my details, a quick phone call to say the car was sold would have sufficed. Other poor reviews for this place should have raised a red flag.
Hoping my reviews will warn other people travelling a long way.. they will sell it without a second thought for the trouble you're going to even if you've booked a viewing and they don't give you the courtesy of a phone call to save your wasted journey.
The lady who took the booking was in a hurry to put the phone down when taking my details so maybe she didn't even bother.. who knows.
Yes I've left this review on several sites because it's just been an awful experience.
Go somewhere more trustworthy.
Shocking experience. Left work early to view the car. Liked it guy said it’s yours pick it up Sunday. I signed the agreement. Day later the owner rang my finance company an told them he’d sold it to somebody else. Very very poor from these guys. Would go somewhere more trustworthy next time for sure. Not a nice way to treat customers paying £1000’s. I will also be adding a review to insta/YouTube accounts. Try help people avoid same situation.
Second car bought from Motormill and…
Second car bought from Motormill and both cars have had issues, but that is cars for you. Both sold with full mot and service which was stamped. My recent purchase had quite a serious mechanical issue which can happen with any car and there was no way they would have known. The issue was addressed without hesitation, although it did take longer than expected to get back, I prefer to get it back right than quick. The sales people are very helpful and go the extra mile to get things right. I will be happy to purchase again in the future. Thanks for everything.
Do not but off these people sold a 10k …
Do not but off these people sold a 10k BMW and it needs 1400 pound spending on it after 2-4 weeks of driving it they won't pay told me to go away so finance is dealing with it
Buyer Beware
Good sales experience at the time of purchase, as to be expected in this type of business, but BUYER BEWARE, after-sales service rotten once a problem is flagged. They will do anything to get out of their responsibility to remedy any faults after you've driven off the lot, even though they claim to give you a warranty period. Rude, unhelpful and unprofessional.
