Had a good experience, wasn’t bothered by staff members until we asked to view a car.
Took the car for a test drive with out a staff member.
Had everything explained to us and was very happy with the service.
So much we bought the car which we are very happy with.

We were greeted by Joseph Dickinson when we arrived at the dealership, who was very friendly and quickly put us at ease. He showed us a number of cars, listening to everything I liked and didn’t like about them. Based on that he suggested a couple of others I hadn’t considered, and found me my perfect car! I never felt that Joe was trying to “flog” me a car, he genuinely wanted to find the one that suited me best.
When we went to pick up the car, Leon had arranged a test drive for us, and then Alex guided us through the buying process and helped us organise temporary insurance. Everyone we dealt with was very helpful and professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend motorpoint to others.

Travelled over 100 miles from East Yorkshire to collect my car. Amazing service, especially Chloe who was professional, friendly and helpful. Great selection of cars on site.

No hard sell but friendly & knowledgeable on stock. Part exchange made the whole purchase pain free.

I had 2 members of staff deal with me. Both were very helpful, efficient and courteous. Answered all questions I asked, if they didn’t know they found out. These 2 staff were by far the best staff I’ve dealt with 😊

Bunch of absolute charlatans!

Quoted £10,900 for my car — only for the figure to start dropping the moment I arrived. I could palpably feel the attempts to reduce the price.

Apparently having a service carried out six days early (because I was out of the country when the MOT was due) now qualifies as a “partial” service history. That feels less like a genuine assessment and more like an excuse to chip away at the agreed price.

It didn’t stop there. A bonnet that had simply popped off a bracket near the headlight was dramatically reclassified as a “serious crack”, with another £600 knocked off. An exaggerated description conveniently followed by another reduction.

The whole process felt like a textbook bait-and-chip exercise — attract with a strong quote, then systematically look for technicalities to drive it down. It left me with very little confidence in the fairness or transparency of the valuation process. I had already packed my documents away before he returned with the ‘serious crack’ finding as it was blatantly obviously his desperation to make any reduction. He claimed he had to put it down as a serious crack or he’d be ‘marked down’! Are you in school fella?

Experiences like this do nothing to improve the reputation of the industry.

Always excellent service

From start to finish the process was made very simple. Ash and Kyle looked after us very well and we were delighted to drive away on the day in our new car. The service that we received from Motorpoint Derby was excellent and we will certainly return in the future.

We went to Motorpoint as they had a number of cars that we had shortlisted and wanted to narrow our search. We went back and bought a nearly new car on our second visit because of the excellent service received- knowledgeable, friendly and not pushy.
