Would give them a lower than 1 star…

Would give them a lower than 1 star review but that is as low as you can give. They originally did some electrical work for me when we built our house, the guys took two days and did not have all the parts but we were patient and it seemed they did good work. Fast forward a year and call them back, two delays and reschedules to make appointment for install of some lights and 30 minutes after they are supposed show up (3 week appointment wait) they call and say they cannot make it! And the "new owner" does not want to reschedule because they are to busy??? Wow. Next I have another electrician come out and point out where the original work they did was not up to code and faulty (state licensing association being notified and code enforcement). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they are cheapo guys that give you a price for one product and cut corners to save a few bucks. Their field technicians don't know what they are doing - beware! 3 other electricians I spoke with said they make a good living going behind this company to clean up messes they make! BEWARE!

I sadly cannot give one star.

I sadly cannot give one star.
Lee Ives the managing director came out because someone else was on a job. He failed to recognise the make of Fuse Box so took a photo and sent to someone else. (It took me 2 mins to Google it and find the same information). I suggested it could be a faulty RCD (rccb) he suggested it could be a blown bulb. As he didn't have a spare RCD to add he went to move over a circuit and when he disconnected the hot tub the power worked again. He then left the hot tub disconnected and switched everything back on. He suggested we get a hot tub engineer as he doesn't fix them. He then charged us £75 for a total of 25min "work". The next day the same problem occurred... After some googling I tapped the rccb with a screw driver and it started working again. (the springs inside seize up sometimes). Wanting our clearly non faulty hot tub connecting and a new RCD (rccb) fitted we contacted mr.electric (Lee) said he would send someone the next day. He said a new RCD would be about £60. (I brought one from screwfix for £24). The electrician (not Lee) came and went to add the RCD that Lee had sent him with... It didn't FIT. (Lee should have googled it). Luckily the RCD I brought did fit. The electrician then connected this and reconnected the hot tub. Everything was now working. Lee wanted an additional £50. So in total for less than 1hours work, no parts (as we provided this), photography of the fuse box and some googling!! Lee wanted to charge £125. Unhappy we spoke to him on the phone. He told us it was a call out charge despite his website saying "no call out charge". He told us they came out twice.... We pointed out he clearly didn't know what he was doing. We did pay as the young electrician he sent on day 2 was competent and its not his fault. We will not be using them again and recommend others do not.

John Russo

John Russo, Electrian from Mr. Electric, was at our home promptly at 7:30 as he promised. He methodically began to work on the list I had created of work to be done. As I have extensive experience in renovations, I assumed it would be more than a day’s work. He worked steady from the time he came until the job was completed 10 hours later. He was efficient, very knowledgeable and thought of solutions for some difficult situations. He was friendly, amicable and never hesitated to explain or answer questions of the various items I had listed. I would highly recommend John Russo and Mr. Electric. Yours truly, Henry and Joan Ripplinger

Excellent work

I've had Paul Soldano come to my home a couple of times for some electric work and he was very punctual, knowledgeable, nice and accommodating and worked efficiently to fix the problems and bring everything up to code.

I called and asked if they did Third…

I called and asked if they did Third Party Part P inspections - the lady on the phone said they did.

I booked one and the lad came round and did a full inspection the following week. He fully understood that it was a part p that was needed for building control. He told me that the certificate would be ready the next day.

I called the next day to pay for the inspection and to get the cert. Firstly I was told by the owner that they do not do Third Party Inspections and was told that it was my fault for getting work done on the cheap and that I had wasted their time.

The guy is a clearly a moron who cannot organise his company.

Absolute shambles

Absolute shambles. Don't do business with these people.
They will take your money, let you down and rip you off!
Paid £84 for PAT testing in July 2017 and still don't have the certificates to show for it!
Total disgrace!!

This company is not professional.

This company is not professional. Prices are made up and job is half done. They came via an insurance plan I have to fix a shower switch and person made because that part is no longer covered by the insurance plan however they can order it, which takes several weeks and they can do a "cash deal" for installation. He was in and out in 2minutes then sat in his car for 35 minutes before driving off, no doubt charging the insurance company. I complained to the insurance company who then sent another company and guess what job done, part readily available.
Mr electric has been to previous properties as they seem to be the go to for insurance companies but I make sure on any tenant claims now they do not attend as have had problems with them over charging or not doing the work and stating it had been done. Be wary and read other reviews. Don't part with your money until Fully satisfied if you do need to use them.

Justin Witte is the best, Brent too.

I just want to say Justin Witte and his helper Brent went above and beyond. I live in a old house with outdated breaker boxes. I have a limited income, but Justin was so compassionate and worked out a price I could do . If anyone wants to know if this company is good, I say they are Excellent. You've helped me in more ways then you could imagine. My house probably would ( or should of) caught fire. That's how bad it was. I now have electricity without worry of fire. I'm crying happy tears. Justin is the best in my book. He's a asset to your company!!! Keep up the good work Justin!!!

A very happy customer. 😊

AVOID!!!!!

AVOID!!!!!!
My partner could have been killed and our home could have caught fire..........
Used Lee (Mr Electric Northampton) trading name but under Jells electrical Ltd.
He had two young persons working for him, one apprentice and one young man just recently qualified.
We had a lot of being messed around by Lee, not turning up and requesting money for job not finished. We didn't like Lee after he was very rude to us but thought we better get the job completed and just avoid him in the future. This was in April this year 2017 we are now in Dec.
What we didn't know is that the fuse box that they installed was not wired up correctly and was also labelled incorrectly. My partner could have been killed when he thought he had flicked the main switch off only to find it was still live when his mobile phone bleeped.
We received no certification for the work and when we asked for this we're told it had been emailed? Lee never even came around to check the work had been done and neither did any of the two lads do any testing.
When my partner chased him up again after many attempts we then get a knock at our door December 12 2017 and the two young persons who work for Lee asked to come in and have a look at our fuse board.
While they were there my partner noticed the recently qualiyfied electrician trying to change the fuse box labelling back. My partner caught him doing this and told him to leave it alone.
They then asked for an hour to test the fuse box but we said no. When we confronted the two men about the testing they openly admitted that no testing was carried out.
When we spoke to Mr Lee Electric, he asked if they could put things right and wouldn't charge, the cheek of this man. When my partner said no and that we didn't trust his work but would complain to the gouverning bodies he replied by saying you F...king idiot and put the phone down on us. He then had the cheek to text us back giving apology for swearing and then a list of excuses for his incompetence and said that the test results were lost!
When we were having further electrical installations carried out in our home and during this when the fuse box was checked it was found to be wired incorrectly and also labelled wrong along with a few other issues we had. The electrician said that the evidence suggests that the fuse box as not been tested. He advised us to not have this person back in our home and to make complaints to gouverning bodies which we did.
We will now have to pay for this to be put right and know that Lee will not pay us our money back. My partner could have been killed or our home burn down, not really the tradesperson you should have in your home. Stay safe and AVOID this person!

AVOID!!

AVOID!!! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Incompetent, rude, caused damage to property and refused to fix It, sent technicians around with either no parts or broken parts, caused trouble with my insurance company maliciously and unnecessarily. Utterly unacceptable behaviour all round!

Didn't turn up

Arranged appointment for 9am- no-one turned up or was answering phone. Received phone call later that morning saying that they were an electrician and had been asked to phone me. Didn't seem to be aware that they had been booked to arrive at 9am. Very frustrating as 3 days passed between booking and expected arrival when I could have had it sorted. No oven for the last week.

Not a good company. I had a periodic inspection carried out by them and no report for weeks, no quote to fix it and a rude person over the phone.
