The composted manure is of excellent quality and delivery was great. My only gripe is that some of the bags at bottom of the pallet were broken and made a mess on my drive when unwrapped. However, still well worth the trouble. Have bought before and will buy again.

Ever been had? I was! Should have known better but £27 for 40 litres of compost is the biggest rip off. Never go there again.

I was invited to leave reviews by Trustpilot for both service and the actual product. I have opened 10 bags out of a 40 bag order and every bag has contained stones, wood shavings, lumps of clay as big as a fist and pieces of solid wood inches across. This is in a compost which is supposedly 'fine, well-rotted' to quote the website description.
I have had year upon year with bags from Mr Muck where the compost has been 'black gold' and my friend still has a quarter of a bag left from when I gave her one as a gift. There is no comparison between what was previously supplied and this year's order.
I am unable to get a sensible explanation for the unexpectedly poor quality of this product from the company. I notice a few other people have also been in the same predicament as myself.
Update and reply to the company's response:
after several months of ignoring my emails and reviews, the company has suddenly decided to respond to reviews sent in March, July and August. If they wish to conduct their business through a public platform, so be it.
Their response to all my points is a blanket answer that the compost is the same as for the last 5 years. This is patently not true: I have sent numerous photographs to show otherwise. At no time have the company mentioned the photographs in their replies, either in their one email or on this site.
I also note their own description of 'shredding' the 'black gold' compost, which would mean either a broken shredding machine in my case or that my batch had just not been shredded/sieved or checked properly.
The director(s) of this company have no interest in fairness or upholding their own advertising. Their replies to my reviews have no basis in reality.

Quality of the product was disappointing and a few bags had been ripped by a forklift truck. I have had this product numerous times and have previously been very satisfied with it.

My soil is feeling so good - the mushroom compost has certainly helped to break up the clay. The delivery was spot on and very quick - 30.5.25. I know this will help my plants to grow well. Allison Slater

I have bought a large number of bags of Mr Muck Horse/Manure compost over the last 5 years and have always left very favourable reviews.
This year, I ordered another 40 bags and was immediately struck by the difference in quality from previous years.
Fair enough, these things happen and quality control sometimes lets companies down.
However, I have sent three emails, with photographs, asking for a suggestion as to what went wrong and to ask how to put it right. There has been no response from the company and I am appalled at the way a loyal customer has been treated - not even the common courtesy of an acknowledgment.
The people who run the company proudly say that they are a 'family' company and surely this means a level of service better than a faceless organisation?
Lastly, I feel that the whole situation is incredibly unfair as a person cannot just take 40 bags of compost 'back to the shop'.
This is a response to the 'reply' from the company.
Let's state the facts:
I sent three polite emails with photographs asking for an explanation as to the rubbish content in my compost - I received no reply.
If I had received the courtesy of a reply to any of my initial emails, there would have been no need to send any further messages.
I then followed the Citizen's Advice Bureau procedure on how to try to reach a resolution with the company. I received no replies to my resolution emails.
I received one brief email to all my communications which stated, ' The muck you add delivered is the same muck as before it varys on different stages of rotting down it’s off the same muck heaps
Really don’t not what else to say
We have been supplying the same muck for over 32 years with out complaint'
This reply did not address the evidence of the photographs I sent to show what items, such as stones, wood shavings, clay and lumps of wood, were doing in a 'fine, well-rotted compost'.
Lastly, there were other complaints of a similar nature around the same time as my complaint on Trustpilot. So, to say that the company has never received any complaints is bizarre.
As for 'bombarding', I have left three honest and accurate reviews of three different aspects of my experience with this company as the whole business has been dragging on since March.
The way that this company deals with issues about the quality of their products is plain to see in replies to other customers' complaints. Their replies are dismissive and unhelpful. I pity anyone who has to deal with this company with a complaint.
